Overall I feel I have gained professional knowledge, personal growth and technical experience that I can continue to use as well as take with me should I leave Applied Energy Systems. This company has some solid/ hard working individuals who I would appreciate at any job, however, management lacks the know how for what happens on the floor and general dynamic for the company to operate efficiently. I respect a coach who can run with the team, this is not the case here at AES as of the last few years. I appreciate many aspects of this work place but don't find my driven mindset to be engaged as much as I'd like. There is a lot of cleaning up other peoples messes and reworking jobs day to day due to foolish mistakes. If you decide to apply/work at AES, know that you will have to find your own way here and learn on your own. Take notes and get good at one thing at a time before you are given another responsibility.

One of the main issues was the lack of proper training. New employees are often left to figure things out on their own, which creates confusion and inefficiency. Additionally, there was little direction from management, which made it difficult to understand expectations or prioritize tasks effectively.

The work environment often felt unmotivated, and there was little effort from leadership to boost team spirit or foster a positive workplace culture.

I believe the company has potential, but addressing these issues—by investing in training programs, providing clearer guidance, and improving employee engagement—would go a long way in making it a better place to work.

I’ve been with Applied Energy Systems since November of 2021. Though I’ve been with the company for a short period of time, I can confidently say this has been one of my best job experiences so far! Everyone is welcoming and the environment is quite relaxed once you find your groove. The benefits and pay provided are great and I find it easy to maintain the perfect work/life balance. I was hesitant to transition over from the customer service industry due to my lack of experience with production, but the change of pace and environment has been spectacular. 

I recently started with the company and have found everyone to be very welcoming and helpful. Management is very approachable with any questions or concerns. The work environment is positive and productive. I am new to the manufacturing industry and the training has been thorough and spread out over time so I could get a good understanding of everything and not feel overwhelmed. They are handling COVID with all of the proper precautions. The office building is clean and well maintained. 

AES is a great place to work. It is a small company environment with friendly and approachable staff that offers a good work/life balance and competitive pay. The company is established and has been around since 1968 and offers many opportunities for growth. 

At least 6 people got laid off around March. Then company wanted to borrow money from the CARES Act allotment after laying off people. Since then, 4 people has been promoted, 3 to managerial level. Again, this after laying off at least 6 people.

Is this a company that cared about its people? You be the judge. Good luck if ever you decide to work here...

This was a great company when it was small. They hired a non experienced General Manager whose mission it was to clean out managers who had been with the company for ten+ years. It became a very hostile work environment unless you 100% backed him. You were forced out if you had an opinion. 

As an intern, Applied Energy Systems provided introductory but impactful experience to the semiconductor-manufacturing industry.  While the company had many different departments (manufacturing, engineering, sales, logistics, etc.), the groups work together in a comfortable way.

No CRM and structure to be successful for future growth. Company lacking these qualities. Company is private ownership, so growth has necessarily been the driver.
