What is the best part of working at the company?
Encore was a small department not very busy. Honestly, there were never enough work for 4 people. I was PRN but treated like a full-time worker. Management was young and inexperienced and really didn't check to make sure things were being appropriately processed. The folks were nice though.  I witnessed a lot of issues on processing instruments and voiced concern, and it was looked over. It was almost like I had never had any experience, of which I have 8 years; I can imagine what a great job it would have been with appropriate processes and better management.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not stressful, just inexperienced manger, and processes were something that needed to be looked at to insure correct by guidelines.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great experience with the environment

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I sat there board constantly. Not enough work for 4 people.

Autonomy, Administration speaking to staff one on one on a regular basis, close working relationships between the interdisciplinary teams.

Low pay and decrease in benefits

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Overall, helpful and positive work environment. Casual culture where administration interact with staff of all positions daily. Autonomy and working at the top of your scope of practice is welcomed and encouraged. Frequent learning opportunities for those who want to learn other areas or cross train. Flexible scheduling and generous time off approval that provides for work-life balance. Leadership is supportive and as hands-on as an individual needs them to be, without micromanaging.

Mostly everyone is super nice to work with. There are some upper management people who need to learn tolerance and diversity, but most are good people. I enjoyed everyday working there, even the long days. The sense of community you get with your department coworkers was wonderful. I never felt overworked and enjoyed the challenge of learning something new everyday. The down side was when the hospital is downsizing they mishandle the way they fire several employees. HR was non responsive as they did not return their voicemails, they seemed happy when giving you the news that you’re let go, and their lack of knowledge regarding the next steps for health insurance is laughable. 

I have enjoyed working at the AHHC as well as the AHH. I have been able to learn from amazing leaders and coworkers. Everybody always seems to be focused on doing the best job they can do, and take care of the patient's to their best abilities. A typical day at work is busy, sometimes multi-tasking, but very reasonable. I have learned so much about the cardiovascular system, operations/surgeries, and the recovery and relevance of many different types of patients. The hardest part of the job is hearing "code blue" overheard, and knowing that most patient's can be brought back with little difficulty, but there will always be some that are not savable. The most enjoyable part of my job are my coworkers. Whether it is helping me through a difficult day, or being goofy along side me, they are always there for me. This is a team that I would trust with my own life.

I worked here for 7 yrs and left for greener pastures. After 14 yrs in several other locations in Little 
Rock, I came back to AHH. I was glad to see the family atmosphere and closeness of employees was still prevalent here. I have never made as much money as I have here. The 401k needs some work but the health insurance is amazing. Imaging, and labs are free. We have our own clinic with no co-pays. Free use of a state of the art gym too. Before COVID, people came to our cafe from outside the hospital for the food. It's really good.  If you think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, it's because it's over a septic tank. I'll not be going anywhere else to work.

I am required to be extremely flexible and attentive at the Heart Hospital. I may need to help on the food line one day and be on the register the next. Smooth operations is my top priority. 

As a whole, I make it a specific point to enhance every customer's experience with us in the café. This job is very rewarding in that I have direct control on making the customer's day a little brighter by providing a relaxing atmosphere, accessible options and friendly attitudes throughout the department.

AHH is fast paced d/t reputation for high quality of care so people end up waiting awhile  Admin cares, need something for your patient just ask, and they do a lot for us on nights too.  RN autonomy at its peak, ability to learn lots of new cool things and advance quickly.  supports with going back to school.  always someone to help if you need it.  retirement minimal but I heard the physicians gave theirs up so we could have more if that's correct then that's really awesome.

The company is fantastic and I have nothing negative to say about the organization in general. However should you be interested in the accounting/financial analyst role(s). Beware your superior.

There management of the former controller, now VP of finance is a KISS A**.  Who feels the need to control his world by belittling those around him and sucking anything stuck in his mouth/down his throat by those above him, regardless of whether or not it is correct. 

He feels the need to prove he is the smartest person in the room by being and overly arrogant, pompous, and authoritarian  dictator-esque person who couldn't care less about your professional development, opportunities to learn, or career advancement.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Love talking to the patients and keeping them happy room clean in up to part.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometime when a lot of room come out at one time it gets overwhelming.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It great love the people I work with we try our best to make it happen so we don’t have to leave a lot for 2nd shift.

It’s always a good day for me because the patients and there family may my day always

A typical day can be pretty stressful if you are not used to a fast pace environment. Pretty good place to work. Everyone is very friendly. The benefits and retirement are the worst of the hospitals. Retirement matching is like 1 percent. You you are planning on having a baby or anything that cannot be done at the heart hospital or encore, get better coverage. Other than that the management team is very good. The heart hospital is filled with employees who do their job well. From the doctors to the housekeeping staff.
