Upon starting this job, I had high hopes that I was joining a company that strived for greatness and cared about their employees and clients. This place is not what I signed up for. 
Employees are neglectful towards their clients. They sit on their phones while ignoring the clients. Team leaders do the same. Team leaders lie to make themselves look better to upper management and the word of “the little guy” doesn’t matter. Staff members will tell you they are there for a paycheck, not the clients. Team leaders will belittle and make their employees feel tiny compared to them because of their “higher job title”. When in tough situations or asking for more staff due to unsafe conditions, there is no support from team leader or upper management. The “on call” support will not come in to help you regardless of the situation you are in. When asking for more training due to unique client situations, you will be told there will be some and then no follow through. The work/life balance is unmanageable due to team leaders and upper management demanding you to be at certain staff meetings or trainings/meetings at THEIR convenience instead of yours. If you need to make changes to your schedule, they are not accommodating. There are multiple clients that should not be with this company for multiple reasons. Communication, follow through, and lack of compassionate workers are the three biggest downfalls of this company. 
There is no proud moment of working here.

Agreed that the organization is very top heavy. In addition, management don't listen to what their employees really want; after an "employee engagement survey", where the overwhelming consensus was that pay was inadequate, it was announced they would revisit pay increases. In another 2 years. They then proceeded to institute some "wellness programs" that were either unworkable, after-work activities, or ironically unhealthy snacks. Cost pennies and didn't work to increase morale.

The organization is full of these tone deaf moves; hiring marketing people when service goals still can't be met, expanding into areas where they have no ability to staff or provide services, and promising clients outrageous things at below-cost pricing.

Add to that the fact that management in mid tier is almost fanatic about working unpaid overtime, and don't tell you to do the same, just, you know, if you want to show your dedication, we could open the office on the weekend... And it's a recipe for burning out staff. 

Your immediate supervisor may really care about you and their jobs, but it won't stop them from riding you like a rented mule, and kicking you to the curb once they're finished with you.

I would rate ACA somewhere in the middle of my job experiences. Overall, I enjoy my job and the people I work with. The biggest problem I see is the top heavy corporate staff. Way too many people at this level, and too much bureaucracy. Constantly responding to a lot of duplication in forms, requests, useless meetings. overly done one on ones, etc doesn't add much value. If you have a question about something, you might go through 4 levels of staff before you get an answer. Too many people are put on tasks and instead of providing us with ops excellence, we get - total confusion, and tasks that don't even get done.  With a non-profit struggling to survive I am surprised with the waste in resources and the deferred decision making or lack thereof from the leaders. There are numerous efforts going on regarding improving operations, wellness etc that lack any central coherence. Under that lies a lot of positive programs, and dedicated people who try to swim through the chaos and clutter.

Good staff mostly at program manager level and below, but most move on after a year as there are no ways to move up and no pay increases for a decade. Senior Management receives promotions, rewards, bonuses, and much recognition. Below that level there is only talk. Recently passed over a very small increase for staff after 10 years of zero pay increases and very poor benefits only to then give major promotions once again to the senior staff. Senior staff here are paid better than your average non-profit. Over 60% of employees are actively seeking other jobs. Very poor morale throughout (except at "corporate".) This is not a corporation, this is a non-profit that is working on poverty alleviation, but only rewards their top 1%, the other 99% are left in the dust. Apparently little board oversight, and upper management operates in a vacuum. Major change is needed. This organization needs changes throughout it's senior staff, and soon.

I started for this agency when it was Lutheran Social services in 2010. I gave my life to this agency for years as a full time employee. If you want to work over time, and NOT be appreciated for it than this is the place for you to work! Easily 50-70 hours a week, some weeks I’d put in 80 hours. This is an agency where the “higher ups” are paid generously and have a “normal work week”, if you’re a DSP  you make barely minimum wage and have so many expectations. This agency is very understaffed, unappreciative, and is very cliquey... sadly it’s like being in middle school with adults. 
The Mental Health side of this agency is the place to go if you want to cheat on your wife/ significant other. Very low morale throughout the Auburn and Westbrook agency as a whole. 
They will ask you to fudge paperwork and lie about billing. The trainings are almost impossible to fail, mostly due to the instructors giving you the answers during the tests.

There really is no kind way to say it. Management has ruined this company and its not likely to recover anytime soon given the political environment nationally. 

No raises for years, however multiple additional managers and vice presidents have been added. Look if you have been paying attention to the work environment/culture the last few years you know the deal. The top get rich, the bottom? You work to make them money. Thats how it is at ascentria, go read the reviews. 

Thats not the worst part. The worst part is you have people that have been there for DECADES and make great money and have bottle necked the whole operation. If you are talented, youre screwed. You will be targeted, you will be isolated and held back. They arent looking for talent, they are looking for bodies/mules. 

Go read the other reviews, no need to elaborate much. If you are thinking about taking a job with this company you will regret it.

I appreciate this company and its hard work daily. I come in and get stuff done for other team members, accomplishing tassks and assignments to the 100 satifation of my coworkers. Ive work with Excel, microsoft word, windows outlook faxing, mailing, and emails. The best part of this experience is helping others and accomplishing goals on a daily basis, also working with honest hard working people. Now the worst is not providing an income for my family. I want and am seeking full time work which the budget at Ascentria cant provide at this time. I am a hard, reliable, and honest worker that is a great independent or team worker. I have transportation, and enjoy staying busy knowing there is always something to be done and accompished. Excited to work with others and be on TIME! Your Time and cant wait to be of Service to you and Your Company!

Alot of heart in this organization for doing good work and improving upon operations etc. Pay is low for anyone below the upper echelon and too much of a pay gap between the top level and the rest of folks. In a non-profit that's a problem, when you can't pay a decent wage to your employees and are out to help the world, something's got to give.  High turnover due to low salary, few holidays, and more work than you can accomplish with little incentive. A little clicky in the corporate office, and advancement is nill. Top heavy on reviews, and meetings, and too many people doing the same thing that don't communicate with each other creates more work for the worker bees.

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience at this organization. I thought I was getting my dream job, and it turned out to be a nightmare. From day one, things ended up being completely different than what I was told in my interviews. I took a huge pay cut for the job thinking it would be worth it and confirming very specific details about pay raises and other benefits. All of it turned out to be incorrect. Compensation in the program was dismal, people had been there for 10 years without a single raise. My coworkers were some of the most wonderful people with the biggest hearts, they poured their souls into the work to support their clients. They worked non-stop, weekends and holidays. Unfortunately, they were grossly taken advantage of and so was I. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part is the team and management. Excellent support.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The never ending issues that come up with PCSP's and clients but this comes with the territory.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hybrid work schedule with travel to clients homes and travel to meet with PCSP's and new hires. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You make your own work schedule around mandatory meetings. Management is mindful of your time and meetings are often virtual and short. There are many emails and phone calls and you can expect to travel at least twice a week.
