First off, anyone can get hired here. You don't need experience of any kind. As a result a lot of staff don't care at all and will straight up refuse to do any work. If you have a good work ethic you get sacked with the extra work while other staff talk on the phone or watch YouTube, and if you express concern about it managers manipulate you by threating you with termination for refusing to pick up the slack while nothing happens to those who refuse. As long as the work is done they don't care if the labor is shared equally. Many houses are understaffed and I'm not sure they can even deliver on their threats, but it shows they don't value you in the slightest. 

The work isn't too difficult but it's not exactly easy either. They expect you to clean every nook and cranny, and when you think you've done a good job they'll come and nitpick. Clients are independent but some refuse to clean a single thing and will make a mess constantly. Some programs even expect you to clean clients rooms even though most are able bodied and capable and just don't want to. A lot of the houses are really old and grungy too so you can only do so much to make it presentable. Most of the clients aren't too bad. Some can yell at you or act out but most don't. They often resist any treatment you try to do with them, though, and there is virtually NO training or guidance on how to deal with this.

After all of that the pay is barely above minimum wage. And if you take the insurance it's a huge chunk, so at the end of the day you have to ask yourself if it's really worth it.

If you're a student getting your bachelor's, it may be useful because you have time for homework and they have tuition remission, but otherwise can't reccomend.

The direction of the organization has noticeably declined under current leadership. While the company historically balanced lower compensation with a supportive environment and good benefits, that balance is gone. Even considering that new leadership inherited a challenging situation and prior mismanagement, the response has only made things worse. Management has shifted its focus toward heavy spending on external consultants with ever expanding SOWs —often at the expense of current employees—and bringing in new leadership teams from outside industries rather than investing in staff retention. Between the constant benefit cuts and the loss of work-life balance, frontline morale has bottomed out. It’s deeply disappointing to see a once-stable culture fall apart like this.

I started off as a residential educator when I was hired. I maintained this position throughout working here. The work is not hard and it is very enjoyable with the clients. The clients are the only benefit of the job with seeing their progress and helping them reach their goals  Management is awful. They have favorites and if you are not one of them, working here will be miserable. Management tends to sit in their office and not leave. They expect you to cook, clean and give out meds for the entire residence. Meanwhile other coworkers are sitting on their phones watching YouTube, using tablets. They do not split any work evenly. There were people who were not certified to give medications and they ended up doing nothing, while the people who were certified had to give meds, cook dinner and clean. If you go to management with your issues they then have an issue with you. There is always lots of drama and gossip, even coming from management. Things are not filled out correctly in this position as well as having no communication. Always short staffed. There have been many complaints from people who actually do the work for the job, but nothing gets done about it. 

Aspire sadly let's alot of hard working individuals walk out the door all the time. They prove time and time again that they are only willing to take care of the people at the top instead of the people at the bottom working the hardest out in the field and making an actual difference. 

Raises are not earned. No matter how hard you work you'll be the one initiating that conversation. No cost of living increase. They'll come up with excuses like employee audits to determine better wages. But nothing ever came of that. 

There also seems to be alot of upper management with no purpose. People with titles that all do is just pass the buck to someone else. There's a lack of responsibility among management. 

I'm sure the department heads and people in charge are well aware of high turnover because of the workload. Low salary. And lazy directors always on the phone, handling personal business, never in office. But they choose not to do anything about it.

There is also a huge lack of diversity when it comes to management. That is a problem. Because employees lack any representation. 



I really wish I could give this company and job 0 stars. This is probably the most unprofessional awful job that someone could have. Being a residential educator in Quincy was probably the worst thing and position I have ever had. Management is awful. They do not do anything and reprimand you if you don’t do everything. They want you to cook, clean, give meds, and do grocery shopping while the favorite employees sit on their phone and do nothing. Be prepared to do everything yourself. If you have a good work ethic it will be taken advantage of. All you will encounter is gossip, regulations not being followed, staff who lie, and laziness. Staff in most houses are very lazy. Some sleep, others leave for long periods of time. No regulations are followed. Management think they are above everyone else and continue to have attitudes. Do not apply for this position. It is not worth your sanity 

I would take any other position over this one. Management in Quincy Ma is ridiculous and unprofessional. I have never experienced such laziness with coworkers as well as drama. If you confront your manager with the drama; they already know it’s there. They do nothing about it. The people who leave the position are the ones who actually are the good workers. I have seen people fall asleep on the job. Coworkers having arguments in front of clients. Workers always on their phones, not filing incident reports correctly or ever. We are there for the clients, yet no one actually helps them. Coworkers don’t want to deal with the problem at hand, so they ignore it and leave it up to someone else. Work is not divided equally. Every Assistant residential director I have worked with has an attitude and just sits at their desk all day. Very unprofessional. 

It's a big monopoly. I have been per diem/full time past 3 years in the crisis department which by all accounts has been the department the most understaffed in the organization. It was so bad at one point, triple time was being offered and still weeks of shifts would remain vacant. People that worked in the department for 30 years said they never saw it get so bad. People that worked in other areas of the organization said they never saw it get so bad. Frankly, it's a monopoly. What I will say is great 9 times out of 10 the staff you get to work with are wonderful people. You will forever be employed and will forever have opportunities to make money, but be prepared to deal with a lot of intentional bs from the system itself. Every employee agrees things can be much better, but they keep coming back.

Nothing. The salary was AWFUL. You could make more at Wendy’s. Upper management always made you feel like you were dumb. Awful company.

Upper management. The second they decide they want to get rid of you, they find some way to do it.
