Definitely has a HS clique mentality; there seem to be some highly capable and extremely talented employees there; however, the culture is not very good from the operations standpoint (from my experience).
There was a lack of training and an expectation of the employee to chase down people each time there is a question. There’s a lack of professionalism from the Ops Mgmt side, who from perspective believes you have to berate or belittle to get points across , instead of a coaching/nurturing environment. From what I saw they are basically hiring friends and friends of friends. If they like you, your personality, your look, or whatever, you’re gravy. But if there’s something they don’t like about you, then you’re shunned. Turn over is high in certain departments, but again to me that speaks to Mgmt building and maintaining a good culture. The way they see it is, it’s Texas we can always hire someone else. And that’s a poor point of view if an organization is attempting to build a strong cohesive team. They should really invest in their employees training. Listen to their concerns; stop acting like a high school clique , we are grown professionals; no need for coffee pot gossip and back stabbing; quit attempting to hire people who look and think a certain way; diversity is what makes a strong company thrive; different points of views etc. 
this is just from my experience and I can attest in the department I was with there had been at least 3-4 people come and go before me and the company had not been in Texas a full year when I started. 
If you want to work there I suggest being upfront, asking and then have them reiterate what the expectations are. It may not save you; but if you document it at least you know it’s not a failure on your part. 
Don’t get to comfy or cozy; I literally had a request directly from an ops manager , completed the task, the ops manager didn’t like the way it was completed and took it to my mgr for a reprimand. Why wouldn’t they come directly to me and use it as a coaching moment?
Also literally had my manager dictate word for word how my emails should be typed , it’s laughable, I’ve only been in the career since 2005 and been typing emails since lord knows when.
I’ve witnessed people from other cultures be talked about for having “language barrier” issues... when clearly the person was multilingual, they just had an accent...
I know times are tough and if you need to work you got to do what you’ve got to do. Those are some of the things you may have to experience as well in certain departments. If your situation permits I would recommend holding out and looking elsewhere, it’s 2020 and there’s plenty of employers who value their employees and foster a much better workplace culture.


I learned a great many things, met many different personalities, and was able to grow in knowledge and skills for the role I was working.
This company has many things going FOR it. Astura has seen a lot of growth as a company. So, from a business standpoint, I'm sure this growth has provided many opportunities for business executives and early-career STEMs. So, if you have your expensive degree, there are certainly opportunities there for you.  I have witnessed some employees get promotions, etc. Most employees, however, will stay in their designated role during their tenure there.
Unfortunately, the one thing I find extremely lacking in this company is a real, cohesive culture that brings departments together. There are cliches, there is sophomoric drama that plagues this place, there is unbelievable pettiness between leadership and their employees at times. It's especially bad here and with no real, formal recourse. It was like that before my arrival and persists after my departure, sadly.
Interdepartmental activities, department lunches together, employee recognition, etc, are nice gestures-and greatly appreciated. But I warn you if you've low or no tolerance for day-to-day drama or cannot work past strong disagreements, you may want to avoid this place. You have to be able to work around people who you disagree with or don't get along with. You cannot let the cultural toxicity stick to you.
I wish Astura the best. My time there was productive in the end, but I advise the company clean out toxicity that I mentioned. It still persists. I hope Astura goes far. There is generally real potential there for prospective employees.

I like to start by saying astura itself is a good company. The bad part is management total joke. If you want to work for someone who gossip about everyone and talks behind your back then this is the place for you. You do anything wrong they are quick to write you up but if you try ask for anything helpful it falls on death ears or nothing happens at all. No really advancement in the company unless maybe your different department. Everyone fairly new and the turn over rate is really high and I'm taking high because I seen at least 10 people quit within a few months. Alot of promises are made to you but they don't care and just string you along like a puppet. Everyone is can be replaced so they they don't care if you quit. Just sum it up be careful if you work here and just hopefully it works out for you.
 

Great environment where even though I may work 9 hours plus each day, I do not have to take work home with me.  I also don't have to worry about getting emails at night or on the weekend that need an immediate response.  I no longer have to work on the weekend as I did in my previous role, which is exactly what I was looking for in my new role.  This role is challenging, no doubt!  And we are still growing which can also come with challenges and pain, but overall, I feel very supportive by leadership and feel that I am respected for the experience I bring to the company.  I love that the company generously gives tickets to the AAC suite for Stars and Mav's tickets.  I have been to 3-games already! 

Astura continuously strives to provide a fun, connected, and supportive working environment. Each department is strongly connected and works as a team with solid communication, respect, and flexibility. Astura truly shows their appreciation for their employees with breakfast every Friday, monthly birthday gatherings, holiday events, lunch appreciations, and large company outings. I have openly seen and experienced how all managers and chiefs aspire to see their associates and departments advance and succeed. The strong teamwork and communication throughout Astrua has created a low stress environment, high satisfaction, and steady work & life balance.

I had the opportunity to work in a customer service job here, and I must say it has been an incredible experience. The job provided me with an excellent opportunity to interact with different distributors and develop my interpersonal skills. The job culture was one of the key factors that made the job enjoyable. The work environment was comfortable, and the management was supportive. The job provided me with an excellent opportunity to develop my interpersonal and problem-solving skills while ensuring customer satisfaction.  I would highly recommend this job to anyone looking to improve their ability to serve others and interact with a diverse group of individuals.

Overall was a pleasant experience to be with the right team and right supervisor. And the compensation was great compared to similar size companies. But all departments were lacking true synergy between them, which made some interdepartmental measures surprisingly difficult to push through. There was no such a role to tie all departments together and streamline the reporting/communicating process. One thing stood out the most would be management was not doing enough to establish company culture, everybody just came to do his/her daily tasks. There was no strong sense of belonging. 

I find my personality to be fairly awkward, and at times it's a bit difficult for me to have "small talk" (decent amount of social anxiety). At previous companies, my superiors/colleagues caught on to this and it seemed I was seen as an outsider, and to some extent shunned from building interactions with them.

At Astura my personality was still the same, but I felt very much accepted. I certainly worked hard and wanted to submit quick and correct assignments, and I think that was all that was needed to gain respect with management. My superiors were the closest to friends I've had at any other job.

I have only been here about three months and it has been great! I feel like I have joined a great company who has great teams and great management. I enjoy the different paces in each day (some days slow, some days fast). Everyone is super welcoming and driven. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone and working alongside many different departments within the company. Due to the fact it is a smaller company, the teams are very tight knit and work with one another to get the job done. I am thankful to be at such a good place!

This place seems great for a few weeks or even months, then the breakfast gets repetitive. People here act like it's high school (0 culture) and if you don't fit in you will get wrote up and lied on if you don't quit they will find a reason to fire you. Work will get piled on no matter how much you do and they will not go the extra mile to advance you or give you a raise despite what you may do. So don't waste your time unless you like this kind of work environment.
