At Athens things have changed since I left but overall this company is a good company to work for. You will make friendships that will last a lifetime and the staff there helps each other out. They believe what they preach "we are family". They acknowledge your good work. A typical day in customer service is you log in being punctual is very important. You start answering calls from customer requesting a certain type of service, before your call ends you ensure everything is documented in the customers account and end your call ready to take another one. I learned that teamwork is a key part in being successful as a department. Management our boss was nice she was informed of everything that went on in our department by the supervisors. We had 2 supervisors on the floor that in my opinion knew nothing. I took care of all my escalated calls because if I asked for one of them to call the customer back they would tell me to call them back either way.  Loved the atmosphere. I enjoyed going to work everyday.  The hardest part of the job was having to deal with high call volume and customers upset for holding too long. Everything at Athens was great and they train you enough to know how to handle calls with different situations.

I’ve learned a lot about time management, teamwork, and how to adapt to different situations quickly. The hardest part of the job can be meeting tight deadlines and handling high workloads, but it’s also rewarding to see the results of your effort. A typical day at Athens includes cold calling comercial business, Meeting with customers to position Athens advantages and solutions to potential customer. Phone calls and signing business. the culture is very much a hunting sales culture. Management is great at supporting their staff with tools to help win accounts in a competative market. The team at Athens is very much a family. The most enjoyable part of this job is the opportunity to meet different people as you strategically market your specific territory. The hardest part of this job is the constant change in their commision structure and the lack of commision structure with new accounts in industries they have not serviced in the past.

I worked at Athens Services for 8 years as an IT Support Specialist. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing overall. Management lacked direction and leadership, and there was little to no opportunity for growth or career development. Despite working hard and taking on increasing responsibilities, advancement was rarely recognized or rewarded.

Work-life balance was practically nonexistent — expectations were high, but support and resources were minimal. The environment often felt stagnant, and talented people frequently left for better opportunities elsewhere.

If you’re looking to build a career, learn new skills, or work under strong leadership, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. It’s a place where you can get stuck, not grow.

I’ve been working with Athens Services since 2018, and it’s been a rewarding journey of professional growth and development. I initially started as a Customer Service Representative and, through hard work and support from leadership, I was given the opportunity to transition into my current role as an Operations Administrative Assistant.

One of the things I truly value about working here is the strong, supportive work culture that makes me look forward to coming to work everyday. Mon-fri or mon-sat 5amor 530am-til you finish, typically you can be done by 5 or 6pm.  You start off as a helper or relief driver for 3 months,  then once a route is open & supervisor knows your the right person for the route it's yours.  Athens is a great place to work,  clock in , hear morning meeting, check your truck , do your route safely,  return back with your route finish & No complaints from anyone & your good.  This is a family own company & I can say EVERYONE at Athens Pacoima ca treats you & welcomes you as family.  Best job 👏 🙌 I work for 100%  trash drivers & organic do have Helpers.  Recycling drivers don't.   Plus every supervisor meetings they have breakfast & YES company does have BBQ once a month or 2 & few Bonuses

Management was approachable and supportive, always willing to provide guidance and encouragement. The workplace culture was collaborative and motivating, creating an environment where everyone could succeed together.

The most challenging part of the job was managing multiple priorities during peak times, but it was also a great opportunity to strengthen my organizational skills. The most enjoyable part was working with such a dedicated team and feeling proud of the results we achieved.
