After 6 years with Audi, and 3 different dealerships under my belt, It’s only getting worse. Year after year it gets harder to make hours on the flat rate pay scale, warranty times are cut constantly and you can hardly break even on repairs even after doing several of them. Extensive warranty documentation, video multi-point inspection, and 10 other hoops you need to jump through per repair order that is un-compensated. You can make decent money if you are skilled within a few years time, but the system is truly designed by “the more you know the less you make” theory. Most dealerships offer zero benefits to top is off. once you reach expert technician level you watch the new guys make more money than you. Once you hit master, you’re mainly doing FREE warranty diagnostics, just for the repair claim to get bounced because someone other than yourself messed up along the way, and you get back flagged. If you want to make a career out of it, I don’t suggest it unless you enjoy high stress environments and fighting for compensation that you won’t get. However, you can make “fast” money within your first 3 years if you have a technical mindset and enjoy working with your hands. But expect a peak and a drop with low hopes for a recovery. I am actively looking for a new career.

I started off great. But they have one great sales Manager & one awful sales manager. 
The great one motivates & uplifts the other does everything he can to kiss the GM's feet & tear you down no matter how good you do. You can be top sales one month & the next be treated like old news. The pay is fair if the awful manager doesn't try to split you're deals with undeserved co workers. Always work weekends. They pressure for no days off!! It's stressful to test every other month & if you don't take a full day of sales off to test in order to sell new cars. If not they will take you off new cars. They have high end customer who complain about everything. They will make you drive to oregon as many times as it takes for picky customers on busy sale days that you could be selling more cars in order to keep the customer happy instead of drawing a line in the sand with the customers whom take advantage of that atmosphere. 

Coming out of highschool I did not know what I wanted to do for my career. College was not the path for me I knew that quite early on, so the hard decision of what do I do after high school came. Luckily I was approached by someone who thought my personality would do well at a car dealership. That someone was correct, I soon formed relationships with customers and friendships with co workers. I was very impressed with the professionalism that came with working at a dealership. People were wearing suites and ties you could see your reflection in people’s shoes. I was instantly hooked and knew this is a place for me. I want the fast luxurious lifestyle and Audi certainly is that. I felt for the first time in my life I had a real job, yes I started while I was 18 but I was treated as if I were there all along not just some highschool kid. Anyone whom asks I will always reccomomd working at Audi.

i enjoyed the cars i worked on it was cool learning about all the new audis but the environment sucked the shop was too dark , it was a lot of petty service mangers service writers and lead techs. it really put a bind on how many hours i could turn, it was not fair. from tech picking and choosing what they wanted to work on because it was easy to them hording ticket, to the service writer not giving me work because they favored some one else. to the service manager not getting me into the training programs when i repeatedly ask. I was paid much less than most techs granted i had less experience then some but i was doing the same jobs as them in every aspect accept i was not R8 certified. after 5 plus years their i should have gotten some type of raise before i had left.

Opening morning detail, as I worked into a lunch or mud day rush.  Updates of product knowledge, and then closing detail

Love the team of techs, management is pretty good. Where this place shines is its systems. There are tech friendly dealers, and not tech friendly dealers. This Store has a good porter team, car wash staff, service writers, warranty administrators ect. Im am currently at a NOT tech friendly dealer. No porters, no warranty admin department. Flate rate techs have to do everything themselves... move cars, code labor ops, its a Joke. Looking back on my time with Audi Fairfield, it was a much more enjoyable experience 

Was a very fun place to work at, just washing/detailing cars, and nice ones at that. But, sometimes other tasks would be mixed in. I enjoyed basically every day there, and it would definetly get busy at times, but there was also a good amount of down time during later hours. Only downside was management. It was always a 50/50, some days they made me do work that I wasn't supposed to do, or would give me simple tasks. Management was also not the nicest,  but were understanding for the most part. Pay also should've been more for the work you had to do.
