This company has a lot of potential but a long way to go before it is realized. 

Their policies change on a weekly basis and depending on who you ask you will receive a different answer. For example, for some people on some weeks it is allowed to take vacation on a week you are mandated, and some times you will get a point.

Some parts of the buildings (bathrooms, break room) will be lucky to be cleaned once a week. 

The floor level management is the absolute worst I have ever seen, there is absolutely no professionalism. Talking about previous drug addictions, private personal matters, and sexual proclivities is the norm here. I wouldn't trust anything I tell them to not be told to nearly every employee here, they need immediate HR reprimanding or even better complete replacement. 

The benefits are sorely lacking in some areas. Similar businesses in the area offer the same amount of vacation from day 1 as Avalign offers after 15 years of employment. The attendance system is designed to get you to use up your limited vacation time if you are sick or you'll get a point which takes an entire calender year to roll off. So take your pick, use your scarce vacation time or risk getting fired. Being sick for a week is half way to being fired by their point system.  

Employee morale here is almost constantly low, due in part to a disorganized system. Tablets were recently added to all the machines to watch work habits, pair this with low morale, nearly unattainable goals set in place by management, a lack of decent vacation time, and nonstop mandatory overtime; this place is a ticking time bomb for a union to come in and organize. There is very little trust towards upper management due to these things.

They held an employee survey and then quickly swept the results under the rug.

There is absolutely nothing positive to say about this company.  The facility is run down, the parking lot is a mud hole and the place stinks of oil.  They constantly get customer returns for bad parts, so their response is to threaten quality inspectors and machinists with mandatory overtime and write ups.  If data shows parts are bad or a gauge is defective, we ignore it and push the parts anyway so the current V.P. can "hit his numbers."  It is especially bad at the end of the month, because of how incompetent their current scheduler is at her job.  Parts are intentionally sent out that are known to be bad to "hit those goals."  They are owned by a holding company that doesn't want to invest in the business.  They are just squeezing it for every dollar they can get until it folds.  We are grossly understaffed, but the rates on jobs continue to increase with no plan on how to do it except, "Do it or you're punished."  They recently held a meeting and "apologized" for the bad morale.  Management then continued with mandatory overtime and "business as usual."  The turnover rate is so high now that it is crippling the company.  Warsaw Avalign's reputation has become so bad, experienced people won't work here anymore.  I got out of here as quickly as I could, and I don't recommend this company to anyone.

Avalign is a low stress place to work. No recognition is given to individuals, instead they collectively give credit to the whole team instead of the person picking up the slack and doing all the hard work.
If you are good at talking and making friends with the higher ups they will give you a role you ask for even if you are horrible at what you do and don't know how to work products. 
You can work hard and others work less and they still pay everyone the same 

They claim that they give opportunities to advance, but if you are too good at your job they will sand bag you and hold you back. If you ask to train in a new role for a new title, they will say that you need to take a pay cut because they can just hire someone off the street that will do that role for less. 
I was the best working person doing things that were not part of my hob description helping management meet daily numbers. Yet i was laid off for no reason, even though the other person that didn't get laid off is lazy and does the bare minimum.

I will say that the on the floor workers are good people.
3/4 supervisors are good people but dont give recognition where it is due.

So in conclusion, if you are lazy and dont like to work much, then thos is the place for you. There is no incentive for doing an awesome job and there is no consequence for being a lazy slow employee.

This place has been on a steady decline once they went corporate and everything began to be micromanaged by people who only know business and nothing about day-to-day operations. They have drastically increased their expectations of output by their employees while adding more and more responsibilities, all while hiring more overhead to ease their own responsibilities. More overhead only means more output needed to support their salaries. It's a "buddy buddy" environment in management where if you know the right person, then that alone means you're qualified for a newly created position. Support for the floor employees is almost non-existent, though they'll tell you they've hired so and so to help us... has not came to fruition. Meaningful employee recognition doesn't happen anymore, hard work is not rewarded, and the worthless employees are kept since they "help" get product out the door.  Maybe working in the offices isn't so bad, but the operations aspect is a complete disaster. Working 4 days a week was a huge plus, but that is coming to an end to make the company more profitable for their investors. Employee morale has been demolished by management, they've pushed nearly all of the good people out from all the senseless changes they've made that always negatively effects the "little guys".

Once a great place to work with a tight family feel, now with the loss of a great vp has turned for the worse. New management only cares about themselves, stabs employees in the back, demands more from people already breaking their backs and is running all the decent employees away. And still they wonder why they cannot get new employees and are offering better pay to new employees rather than take care of the ones that have been the backbone of the company for the better part of a decade. Employees now feel over whelmed unhappy, and morale is all but non existent. The company is being drove into the ground and no one is fixing it but management continues its path of destruction and continues to bring in friends and past associates who helped destroy previous companies. There is a reason they refer to the new vp and his "trail of tears"  you cannot trust anyone at the company and all most of the employees on the floor do is stand around complaining about each other, their job and management.  Every week you will see more and more employees from all tiers of the facility quitting like rats fleeing a sinking ship. If you are not part of the new big project, you mean nothing to this company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Just didn't like my job. Company doesn't care about you. You're just a number.  VSM of my Department wasn't very knowledgeable which made explaining problems almost impossible and to be honest he didn't really care about you or your opinion. HR was a joke. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management had Townhall meetings once a month to tell us how bad we were doing and how much money we need to make them.Bonus program was unrealistic and impossible to obtain. Raises weren't merit based like they said the were supposed to be. Just honestly a bad place to work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor, poor ,poor.  Management wasn't good. Plant manager was the only compident one. Culture was terrible 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Hard. If you needed help it was difficult to find cause they spent most of their time talking, taking long breaks or just no where to be found.  People like to be paid but not do their jobs.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The hours worked well with tattooing in the evenings. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The past did not match the amount of work they expected for most employees, and refused to match pay after a year of employment with new hires with less experience. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most supervisors in the floor were awesome, however the staff above them constantly look down on the employees actually laboring, and then having meetings to say how much money we were making the company, but extremely hard to get raises with unrealistic expectations from office personnel 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sit or stand at a press brake machine all day, without lunch breaks. Given very short breaks to rest and smoke for those of us that are dependent on nicotine.

Retiring from Avalign.  Not quitting.  This company I hold in high esteem.  Would work for many more years if not for family health issues.  First impressions: management impressed me right from the start at the interview & hiring process, considering my needs as important as finding best fit for job & company.  Avalign has supported me in all ways personally and for my job / career.  Avalign met my professional expectations, that if I strive to be the best I can be, they will help me get there.  What more could I ask for.

I was pretty happy at Avalign.  I will demonstrate by this closing: I would not hesitate to check out positions at Avalign.  If you want a meaningful job / career with personal & professional growth, you will be recognized and paid attention to.  That means a ton.

A typical shift for me was a learning experience as I often encountered parts that I hadn't previously worked on before.
In my brief time at Avalign, I learned the basics of finishing operations & deburring parts, how to calculate what go/no-go pin gages were needed based on the dimension tolerance, & was introduced to new tools.
The hardest part of the job was not having a 2nd shift Finishing Supervisor to go to if I had questions about what all needed done on parts that I was unfamiliar with.
I truly enjoyed feeling as though I mattered to management, that  I was a valued employee. Other enjoyable aspects we're when I performed well at something that was challenging & being informed on how our facility(and company as a whole) was doing via quarterly meetings & announcements posted throughout the building.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Plenty of opportunities for people with little experience to learn a great trade.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being expected to do setups quickly while also checking parts on other machines. Especially when other machines are not running parts well. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not as delightful as other places I’ve worked! But also not the worst either. It seems the company is working to try and create a better culture somewhat.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Time goes by quickly because I’m so busy. First thing to do is log into jobs that I’m gonna be working on then check parts that are running to make sure machines are running good parts. Then get to work on setups. Fill out gemba board every two hours. Run run run
