I worked at B&G Foods during a period of major organizational restructuring, when the company transitioned from functional teams to business units. In my experience, this shift had a major impact on the culture and day‑to‑day work environment.
During this time, I raised concerns about workload distribution, communication gaps, and processes that weren’t functioning effectively. I often received high‑pressure assignments with shifting priorities, while others were given lighter workloads. When I voiced concerns, I did not feel that my feedback was acknowledged or meaningfully addressed.
In my view, favoritism became more noticeable after the reorganization. Advancement seemed to depend heavily on visibility and alignment with certain leaders rather than performance or contribution. I also observed that employees from underrepresented backgrounds faced additional challenges, including limited support and fewer opportunities for growth.
The overall culture became increasingly difficult. Collaboration declined, morale dropped, and many talented employees left the organization. While leadership invested in high‑visibility initiatives, the tools and systems needed for daily work did not receive the same attention. At the plant level, I observed inconsistent processes and a strong focus on speed over quality, which created additional strain for teams.
Bottom line:
Based on my experience, this environment may be challenging for early‑career professionals or individuals seeking a workplace centered on fairness, transparency, and consistent support.

Where to begin? Terrible Management, Micromanagement, Rude Leads, Massive Language Barrier,Petty Employees? I could go all day! Granted, You get Benefits upon Starting, But that doesn't NEARLY cover all the stuff you have to deal with from Management, Leads, And ignorant foreigners...

I spoke up against the Companies Unfairness towards its employees which spoke out against management and was Terminated off of HEARSAY! No investigation, Just words. If you choose this as a way of employment look forward to many miserable days in which you don't even want to get up out of bed! And I really gave this company 100% effort so my words are through actual experience...Good luck! You're gonna Need it! 

BEWARE-WHAT YOURE TOLD IN ORIENTATION IS NOT HOW THEY OPERATE IN THE WAREHOUSE! YOULL BE TOLD ONE THING TO GET IN THE DOOR AND LEAD AROUND ANOTHER WAY ONCE YOURE IN! And their "Open door Policy" is a Lie! Speaking up when you have a problem only puts a target on your back! There's a reason most the employees there are Foreigners...You're Welcome!

The Company always outpaced it's Distribution infrastructure during my 18 years with them. Redoing layouts  were the norm. We moved into three different DC's during my time there and I opened up two other regional facilities for them. B&G Foods was unwilling to invest the money needed to have a WMS system  (Everything was paper  driven in our 450,000 sq ft facility). B&G Foods is opting to drive their Distribution Operations to a Third Party Logistics Company so they can experience  short notice brand growth.The 3PL can give them that with 40 DC's Nationwide and a proven WMS. That company wanted their own manager with current knowledge of their systems from day one of the go live date. Thus, I am seeking another opportunity. I was promoted twice during my tenure there, am a quick study and a dedicated employee. I have 37 years of Warehouse Management to offer.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing you get rid of people that do their job for the company, and those in maintenance management always , always downplay you because he didn't agree with you. And when the lines ran good without problems, always had something negative to say. That's one reason why the company is going down. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management. Poorly done. Always looking for ways They can get bonuses, and not working together, or leaving the work for someone else to do. No unity

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nobody likes to hear truth. Once it's heard, people tried to get back at you for telling lies about you. TRUTH! I no longer work there. The new manager had no reason, but he followed the advice of then, maintenance manager. He wanted to see me fail and loose all my belongings 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
At the time really busy. No one helped in to make things work. You had to do it yourself.

I truly believe this is a great place to work but falls short, the reason I say that is the temporary employees if it were up to me I would get rid of the temporary and just hire full time temporary employees hold this place back and b&g relies way too much on them they never stay. But as far as my job went I loved it I worked as a sanitation crew member.. my days were pretty much the same worked only on weekends but if you get hired to do sanitation expect to work hard don’t go in there expecting it to be easy and slack off you’ll be sorely disappointed the sanitation manager doesn’t tolerate it. If you get on full time you get good pay and good benefits but that’s if you get full time which is never a guarantee.

Decent place to work, benefits offset , the lower pay scale for the surrounding jobs, for this area.  Easy work, but repetitive . The job assignment probably will, be different daily , in order to meet customer demands.  Plant , usually closes for inclement weather conditions.  Steel toes suck, but most plants require them, in today’s world.  It’s hard to get fired. Only , downside : The more you do the more is expected, don’t go in running, or you always will be expected to run. Go in at a steady pace, and absolutely, only do what you are paid to do, going over and beyond? Just gets you a heavier work load. Overall, a decent place to work, as long as you don’t go over and beyond,  and just do  the bare minimum . 

During the GM training program I was transferred to three different stores. The last store I was at in Houston at 1960/West Road I was constantly harassed by the GM of that store as well has one of his employees. I reached out to the area manager as well as the regional manager with no results or support. The environment that I worked in was not only constantly negative but they went against policies and procedures. When I questioned the things I was seeing I was told "be quiet and take out the trash". When I requested to be moved from that particular store I was informed by the regional manager that they would consider that my job resignation.

Horrible place to work roches and rats no sanitation employees do not wash there hands only 10 min breaks 20 min lunch they make you work through a temp service no benfits they treat temp employees like second class citizens constanly threatning to fire you intimidate you the temp service The Sorce does not have your back DO NOT WORK THERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A BACKUP PLAN

YOU DO NOT WANT TO WORK HERE THE SORCE TEMP SERVICE IS A JOKE NO PROFESSIONALISM JUST WARM BODYS CHICKEN 8 PEICE CHICKEN DINNER BISCUITS AND FIXING GOLORE

When I worked there a regular day for me was walking in the door a 2:45pm pit safety PPE on, then go wash my hands and look for my supervisor to get my assignment for the day, it was never the same thing everyday, always doing something different. If you got even the smallest cough you got sent home right away along with everyone who carpooled with you to work and you still got paid for how over long you were out of work. 

Great place to work for, IF you're willing to put in the time.  Expect to work long hours.  If you are low seniority, expect to work 12 hour days throughout the week and an occasional Saturday.  Once you gain seniority, it gets better when it comes to life outside of work.  Expect to work 2nd or 3rd shift starting out.  Will take a few years to get on a 1st shift position.  Gets hot in the summer but there is some A/C available. On your feet 8-12 hours a day.  Management could be better, but overall not that bad.  Not a lot of advancement.
