I'll start by saying that the managers were great. Professional and listened to their workers. The staff was nice to work with for the most part except that the ones not on the main floor were very loud and extremely rude and gossiped about the file handlers all the time. The environment was very odd. It wasn't that professional but it wasn't always a bad thing except that it meant that work was difficult to get done in a logical manner, and for many in a timely manner as the way things were run wasn't always practical. Add on that the partners clearly don't care about their workers and likely don't care who works for them makes the position feel unstable at all times. Especially since they are an "at will" employer and their terrible HR doesn't hide that. She makes it even more clear how little she and the partners don't care about their employees and their needs. Because of all this I'd already told people to not apply here, especially with their hiring and firing all the time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part about working at the company was receiving my paycheck.  Otherwise, it was the worst professional experience of my life.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
it was extraordinarily stressful. I was hired as a remote rider and was given very little support from the on-site staff. In fact, the permanent on site staff treated remote workers condescendingly And with extraordinary derision.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There is a tremendous amount of pressure to crank out work very fast, and there is basically no support, no praise for your work, no feedback, and no assistance. I reiterate that it was the worst professional experience in my life.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I worked remotely. It was a very frustrating experience because I would leave messages at BDJ for calls to be returned and more often than not, my calls were not returned.

This law firm has a horrible work culture and is very unprofessional. There is absolutely no communication from managers. Managers or supervisors do not give any information (none) on work product requirements or firm procedures/protocol, but will send snarky comments for failing to follow proper procedure or work product requirements. If you ask question to learn how to properly do your job, you either do not receive a response at all or you receive an ambiguous response that is contradictory to the response of another. There is absolutely no communication,  and employees are confused about their role and responsibilities. Additionally, the files are extremely disorganized. I have previously worked in fast-paced law firms and corporations, and have never experienced such a high level of unprofessionalism, lack of communication, and disorganization. I strongly recommend against working here.

A lot is expected of you when you work with this employer. You will receive more work than any one person should be expected to receive and then be constantly pestered by people for updates on everything. The people that work there are nice but there needs to be a set plan to organize the workload and details of each department. You will learn a lot but also be expected to keep up. Pay is below average and you rarely receive a bonus or decent raise for your hard work and dedication. The place may be a good stepping stone for your career but I wouldn’t remain there long term.

Not having people to properly train you.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depending on the position and team you are assigned you might have a different experience but my team is super calm and actually help each other out.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Calm, I focus on my work and that’s all. They do not micromanage you but again it depends on the team you’re in

Management, one person in specific whom I will not name out of respect  lacks leadership skills. She has been the worst manager I've worked under.  Work expectations were never established, communication was never there unless you weren't doing enough. There is definitely favoritism and management treats you like you're nothing. I would never recommend this firm. Super unorganized, no actual training, redundancy in workflow and overall just a poorly ran law firm. Such a relief and blessing to be out of that disgraceful work environment.

Working there, I got hired on pretty quickly, which was amazing. The compensation to start was about $25 an hour as an entry-level legal assistant, which is amazing for the most part. I feel like I got not as much training as I would have liked coming into a new environment with Experience at some point caseworker ended up leaving and they basically were scrambling to try to figure out what to do with me at some point. I decided that waiting around for them to try to figure my job out wasn’t worth my time I decided to leave. 

There’s a lot of favoritism, managers gang against employees if they don’t like you they make it to a point  that you feel harassed and undermined.  Bosses also favor certain employees and make it too obvious, give them bonuses and credit for the hard work of the other employees. Some managers got the position without having the skills nor the experience to do the job making lots of mistakes and still bosses look the other way.  Savatage others work. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to work at this firm if you can call it a firm.

This is a firm focused on winning. Focus on the work. If you don’t contribute to the team you’ll come up with a million crybaby reasons why you hate your job rather than patting yourself on the back for being a strong player that is part of a multi-million dollar law firm. Be an A-team player and you’ll love it here. I enjoyed my time with the firm and would gladly re-apply if I ever wanted to.

This firm is tribal. Departments keep isolate to themselves and there is no collective moral. HR is there to cover up the abuse of management. High turn over, the will terminate for no professional reason. Policies change all the time and roles get blurred. The partners want nothing to do with day to day, they aren’t even on the website. You won’t grow here. Not a place to make a career.
