Working as a credit analyst has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to utilize my analytical skills to make a positive impact on the company's financial decisions. I thoroughly enjoy diving into financial data, assessing risks, and making well-informed recommendations. The role allows me to continuously learn and grow, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Collaborating with colleagues from different departments has enhanced my communication and teamwork skills, fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment. The satisfaction of helping the company make sound credit decisions and contribute to its financial success is truly fulfilling. Being a credit analyst provides a sense of accomplishment knowing that my work directly influences the company's financial stability and growth. This role has allowed me to develop professionally and make a meaningful difference in the organization.

I worked with a great team and it was a hands-off management approach.

When you get hired, the company states the managers are blunt and upfront. However communication was poor when collaborating with other departments and when executing projects and many projects were delayed. Also the managers and HR don't communicate with you when you step out of line - Instead they wait until the last minute. 

WFH was not an option in my position. 

Little privacy - You work alongside people in other departments and every conversation can be heard. 

Passive aggressive management style - Managers and loan assistants would show up to your desk at 5 p.m. to make sure you're still there. There are strict rules, but they don't always tell you that due to the management style.

Bell itself is a good company to work for but the mortgage division has a lot of struggles. Managers hiring friends/ prior co workers is very common and favoritism is very prevalent there. Their procedures are very new all across and need quite a lot of work and is a very new company to the mortgage servicing industry so while division has struggles. A lot of lower level workers have issues aswell. Health insurance is above average in terms of cost. Toxic upper management throughout and is basically a club of former US Bank managers/ employees and that’s all they talk about. Overall the division and company had a lot of potential but overall needs a bunch of work. 

Be wary of any corporation which claims being your family. Doing so is groundwork for a manipulative work environment. Compare what family members typically expect from each other to what employers typically expect from workers. They are two different types of relationship. Confusing the two has detrimental effects, primarily on the mental health and well being of the workers. In real life, if someone who was not my father claimed being my father, I would not accept this. Were I to accept this claim, this person would assume the right to know about my personal life and to influence my actions. At Bell Bank, I learned to stand up for myself. I learned to appreciate my own personality, as I felt continually alienated in the work place.

8-4:30 ***  How to learn to work more efficiently.   I had great management, but the last 5 years the VP & Manager have been a little different.  Sometime Management were listening to what the employee was saying.   I had been in this position for  almost 18 years before my dept of Loan Servicing was eliminated.   I loved working with the TEAM that i did and we were ALWAYS there for each other.   I also like our Team Building outings we would do.

I was told their marketing department was solid and this would not be a 100% self sourced scenario.  They lied...  No 401k match.  Little control over your own marketing allocations, however, this is a company trying to see things from a loan officers perspective and now that I have been gone over a year, I would reccomend this company.  They are moving this position in the right direction.

You can’t try and leave a department for any other one, HR wants you to “be focused” on one area instead of just trying to escape a bad situation. Don’t over apply once you’re in. It was really unfortunate. Some departments offer excellent communication but it really depends on your manager as to if you’ll feel valued. 

This job required an exceptionally high level of skill and expertise to perform a very high volume of work. These demands were only capable of being fulfilled by working additional hours. This volume of work was recognized by the company, and their solution was to move this work to an outside vendor.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They put employees first!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing.  During the busiest times, they don’t demand overtime.  They reward you for your hard work and dedication by increasing the performance bonuses.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Amazing.  Family oriented.  Helping others.

Ordered appraisals, title work, flood certs, plat sketches, employment verifications and tax transcripts. Reviewed loan docs for accuracy and researched any issues in either the loan docs, property information or title work. Learned to be proficient in working with FHA, VA, Bond and Conventional loans. Good management. Good culture. Lots of needless chatting by staff.
