My work setting is a high paced Healthcare environment in which phone communication and personnel interactions are essential.  

With my ten years involvement in the Home care industry I have gained extensive experience in coordinating, delegating and supervising heavy volume caseloads.  My interactions with managers, leaders and professionals have contributed to my interpersonal growth, and enhanced my communication and customer service skills.

The company has established regional offices throughout New York City and their organizational hierarchy consists of: CEO, Vice Presidents, Branch Administrators, Managers, Coordinators and Receptionists.

My co-workers are team players who welcome and adapt to change and accept leadership input with ease.

The hardest part of the job is being able to pair two individuals together, (e.g. the paraprofessional and patient) where the care needs of the patient are met efficiently and effectively without being insensitive to the paraprofessional’s cultural and professional needs. For example, the difference between care giving in a hospital setting vs. a home setting.

The most enjoyable part of the job is fulfilling the demands every single day when availability of paraprofessionals are accessible and ready to perform case assignments.  And no patient is left without home care service.

About 98% of the women in the office literally do not know how to speak to someone professionally they always have an attitude and will talk down to you like you are a pile of trash sometimes a coordinator will ask something of you giving you the minimum time to complete it making it impossible but then yell at you like you're the one that is wrong you cant call them and ask them for help or call them when you need to make a complaint about a patient because they will turn it on you and just make it look like you're just complaining to complain you cant count on anyone in that office for jack they literally want you to be 1000% perfect like we arent human and make mistakes at times and they would prefer you dont have a life outside of that place their rule is you must call out at least 2 hours before you're scheduled shift you can follow that policy and they will still jump down your throat doesnt matter if you're sick doesnt matter if you're dying a friend of mine literally sprained their ankle on the way to work couldnt even walk and they yelled at her for not making it to work 😑  if you want to be controlled like a robot get talked to disrespectfully and you literally have no life then you could work here and probably have no issues but if thats not you this place isnt right for you

Working here was a wake up call to reality. How employees speak to their supervisors, how they don’t care about work then complain how they aren’t paid correctly. Yes there are excellent employees as well that I had such respect for as they were responsible and dedicated to the patient. Yet the company had so many flaws. Back to the irresponsible aides, they were given work/patient and as they called out so many times, there was no repercussions and the coordinators will stay after hours to staff the open shift. Staying after hours means no overtime pay, there were times we had to stay until 9pm. While on call during the holidays was the worst, after confirming with the aides they will work, there’s always some that will call out as soon as the office closes. While on call, we would use an old flip phone and print everyday patient information to do daily calls that’ll start at 7am everyday while getting ready to go to the office at 9am. It’s not easy finding coverage and speaking to families who demand coverage. As soon as I left, my anxiety and stress level reduce tremendously.

Just by reading the other reviews on this site about BestCare, Inc. you can get the feel of the company. Have you noticed the reviews are all spelled wrong? Yeah. About that. 

The "Heath Care Workers" that work for best care barely speak English.  They are on the poor side of the income spectrum and they sadly, aren't paid very well for their work. They work with the sick and elderly for very little money and are required to fill out ancient time sheets and if they make a mistake or bring them in at the wrong time, they aren't paid for a week, and their pay isn't much for the amount of hours they work.

Best Care is operating 7 days a week 24/hours a day, to say its mentally exhausting is an understatement.

Certain locations of Best Care offices are down right filthy dirty. Old out dated equipment, Sometimes the buildings have no heat, and are in the poorest areas. Sometimes these areas are dangerous to leave your car or leave at night as well. No money is filtered into bettering the work environment, which is at BEST... dis-organized and meddled with overlooked mistakes and errors.

A typical day at work would begin with the employee making their way to the assigned patent that day. Most of the time the patient's information like phone number and addess would be incorrect or misinterpeted. 
I learned how to care for patients who were unable to do so for themselves and had to stay home. 
Management was very unorganized, some days you would get good service and others you won't. It really depends on what is goin on in the office that day.
The workplace was very small, in the basement, cold, and had no windows. I didn't like going there much because when I did staff/ coworkers were rude, and would speak spanish to each other across the office while someone is waiting for assitance.
To be honest the hardest part of the job was dealing with the entire Staff and HR departments. If there was a difference. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was when the employee is able to work on a consistant schedule with a patient that appreciates them being their.

Bestcare has good intentions but is operating in the 1980's. Nothing is updated and it feels extremely old fashioned. There is very limited vacation, sick time, etc. so expect to never have a day off. Also they only provide about 4 holidays off, but, the average is 12 in other companies. Also, if you can't make it in on a snow storm you will not be paid even if you are a salaried employee which is against the law. There is no regard for laws or policy. You cannot even use a vacation day to be made whole as an exempt employee so that is a big issue. On top of that you will be berated and yelled at if you don't go in on top of not being paid. Safety is not important to them. Finally the environment is so old and boring. Not worth the headaches you will develop a severe depression working there.

I had a lot of fun working for this company. I made a lot of great friends and had a lot of fun with the coworkers at work. It's always a fun day at work because of the people that we work with. We believe in making the best of every day. I learned something new all the time. The hardest part of my job is not being able to help those in need when i know they are truly struggling and have done all they can on their end to make the best out of their situation. And the most enjoyable part of the job is at the same time providing support and any assistance to those who truly need it. I Love working here but have to work as CNA.

I was the H.R. Manager at Bestcare, Inc.  I was responsible for communicating the benefits plan to our employees, started an employee database, worked closely with payroll, Conducted interviews and was involved in the hiring process.  Managed a staff of three, benefits associate, H.R. associate, receptionist.

My skills at managing were enhanced in my time at Bestcare.

The hardest part of the job was not being included in management meetings.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working on a team.

A key part of my role requires access to industry standard platforms. I was denied!
They do not trust you. Going out in the field they want proof of every place you go to bring in candidates. When you post flyers to advertise the company there is no way of getting business cards.   They change what you do without an updated job description or salary. One Administrator is rude, nasty, lies and disrespectful in the Bayshore office.
