Clients are great and understanding, they have to be to remain at this clinic. Typical day at work is listening to the manager complain about everything but not making any attempt to work towards a resolution. Complaining by other staff about the clinic, and again, little is done to seek resolution. Corporate office clearly does not care about staff or their training needs or staffing needs. I did not stay long at this clinic due to the unprofessional behaviors and questionable ethical behaviors. Workplace culture is negitive, praising some staff, coming down on other staff, and talking about staff to other staff in a negative manner, which violates confidentiality of the employee being spoken about. The hardest part of my job was to remain there as long as I did. The constant negativity experienced from "leadership", constant understaffing, negative verbal interactions with clients, rude behavior towards clients, self-inflated importance, etc., are all running wild at this clinic. The most enjoyable part of my job was working with the clients. I looked forward to talking with them. Another enjoyable part of my job was when I handed in my resignation and the clinic manager and several other employees stopped talking to me. Leadership needs to be trained in several areas in order to have hopes of retaining any type of licensed professional. My advice, find employement somewhere else. It is not worth your time or effort to work in a place that has no real desire for change, only complaining about everything and everyone. If you are licensed, I would avoid this place like a bad case of the flu until leadership changes are made.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Busy, demanding, high stress with patients. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Blamed me for company being in the red, when I was told not to take payments and then didn’t do it perfectly the first time. They just wanted to get rid of me. I was also discriminated against based on my education, experience, and race. Terrible place, some toxic counselors, great nurses, great doctors, terrible management. Great experience to understand need of help for opioid use disorder patients.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Kept busy front desk moving patients through checking in daily, communicating via phone, with nurses, counselors, doctors, and management. There is a fine line of how to help patients without being forceful. Management crossed line a lot which made job difficult. They paid for extra phlebotomy certification, which helped me get my next job. Only did about five patient draws. Arrived at 5:10am very early and got off at 3:00pm.

I am a brand new employee here with little skills in the field, newly Certified. I really like it, it is overwhelming and extremely busy but staff and management are wonderful and very helpful and patient. You do have to ask questions and be proactive, I think because it such a fast paced environment. They really do understand and know there is so much to learn. Since management is very busy , I have leaned on other employees for help. One in particular who practically took me under her wing, so grateful! The software program is the most challenging for me since I have never learned that skill before but everyday I get a little more confident.  You get your own office inwhich you can decorate however you want and schedule your own appointment.  The people we serve are amazing, I am looking forwards to being on my own with my own clientele which will be happening soon!  It’s very very fulfilling, such a great service! I recommend it!!

Before working at BAART Programs, I have no experience in the accounting field, so I really appreciate the fact that they gave me the opportunity to grow. I actually have two titles at BAART Programs, Account Payable Coordinator and Account Receivable Coordination, so I have doubled the duties. My work load follows a schedule closely, as in we have to vouch invoices in a certain period and time of the month, process the checks before the bi-weekly payday, entering invoices by the end of the month and recording daily deposits. So working at BAART Programs, I was able to touch on different duties and responsibilities. 

Hardest part would be the salary and growth. BAART Programs exhaust their workers and their compensations does not match others competitively. Also, there are no growth in Accounting department, such as, the Account Payable Coordinator won't get promoted to AP Coordinator II, III, or Senior AP.

I love my job. The patient's are the best. There are good days and bad days like any other job but the good days far out weigh the bad. I enjoy being able to help the patient's and put my energy into doing all that I can for the patient's every single day. If all of the employee's did the same everyone would be just as happy. For all of those that say otherwise it is because they do not want to come to a job and actually work, work is supposed to be work. 
The only really bad thing is the turn over. The type of people that seem to come in are the ones that have no work ethic, want to get paid for doing nothing, or they think they are better than everyone else. 
This is a great place to work if you want to come in and help people, work hard, and do the job that you are paid to do.

A typical work day would be a caseload of up to 6 clients. I am providing therapy to clients battling substance abuse and co-occuring disorders, I also provide case management and referrals.

I have to learned to work with a population who are majority homeless and look at every human being as an equal no matter what their life experiences may be, we all deal with our battles differently.

I have learned to be a team player working with a diverse staff and trying to consult with my co-workers on difficult cases

The hardest part of the job is accepting the fact that recovery is a different process for everyone.

The most enjoyable part is making a significant difference and change in someones life and making those connections.

I love my job here. It's challenging, rewarding, and disheartening at times. This population deserves respect, dignity, compassion, and a nicer place to come get their medicine. 
What I dislike the most is the lack of upkeep on the building and parking lot. 
The management is extremely supportive, open to questions, available always, and understanding.  The doctor is compassionate and kind. He really cares about our patients. Our mission is to help keep people alive long enough to find recovery and a better, happier, and more peaceful way of life. Opiate addiction is no joke. Its mixed with fentanyl and is highly deadly. 
The patients here are from all walks of life, income and educational levels, moms, dads, uncles, and business owners.  

My experience at BAART was wonderful for the first six months i had great supervisors that since then have now found better work opportunities now with new management there has been a whole turn around in counselors we no longer have the same great counselors that have worked here for many years. everyone has found better job opportunities. we now have  all new counselors that are ready for new challenges. I myself enjoy my job and working with the challenging group of people that are clients here at BAART. I would like to work a more hands on job were i get the opportunity to work with people in a more raw way community health and addiction are two new options i would like to explore.

It's a place where patients pretty much run the program. Theres no accountability for their irate behaviors towards staff, training is non existent that alone is stressful they dont provide you with the tools you need to succeed but the expectation is that you produce. The support is lacking to say the least. Be prepared to learn on your own by going around asking different people
 This will take up alot of your time. If you want to work in an environment where staff is held accountable for the patients missed sessions and disrespectful behaviors and the patients are not then.this is the place for you. 

The place has a great program.  Counselor wise we can never keep them and we had/have great ones. When other people left they convert their job into another.  They put so much on you without paying you anything. Obviously all of us are there for the patients, not the money.  We can not keep anyone.  We can't do overtime; but have no bases of a schedule because patients come in from 5:30 am- 12:30 pm; we close at 1:30 pm.  I schedule patients for appointments, they don't come on time.  It would be helpful if we close at 11am to patients then we'll have time to finish paperwork.
