If you would like to work at a place where you are happy and excited to work everyday then DO NOT come to work at this place. They overwork you and you are underpaid. My manager was AWESOME though she tried her best and always looked out for those who did there job. I started off as a service rep at the front desk and was promoted to a referral coordinator with a $1 raise lol. Referrals were backed up and there was only 1 referral coordinator there so I was her help, days into the new position my coworker got sick and then left the company so I had to do everything free handed and just learn as I go smh doctors had no compassion that I was not only new into the position but I was not fully trained and they made my life there STRESSFUL!!!! I had no help for months, went home with headaches and was always tired, and was not paid more for my perseverance not even a thank you for working overtime and doing the best I could to get things done. I hung around as long as I could then I decided to leave for another job and of course once I decided to leave they decided to hire help. The place is like a high school so much drama  and gossip and so UNPROFESSIONAL. I pray for whoever decides to work there good luck to you.

I loved working with my doctor and my patients, it made the job worth while at the time. 
Reasons I left: 
- poor management 
- lack of professionalism 
- provide incentives to go back to school, but does not work with you so 
 that you are able to do so. 
- overworked &undervalued
- too many turnovers in upper management 
- favoritism  
- lack of confidentiality 
- lack of care for their employees 
- lack of assistance when needed 
- poor organization 
You can make an opportunity into whatever you decide to make it. BMS is great for MA's who need the experience once completing Medical Assistant Training. If you are looking for longevity and growth do not work here. MA's can only go so far in this company. I left because the job was not good for me spiritually and I was also a student. My manager basically made me choose between my job or furthering my education. I was getting gray hair at a young age, mainly because of the stress from the job. With my workload, I would ask for assistance and get told that I couldn't because there was no extra availability. I did meet some very nice people through this opportunity. But I will never return to work as a MA for this company.

Over 2 years of experience as a Referral Coordinator. Highly skilled in gathering patient’s background information in order to provide prudent and clinical information to the doctor/ specialist. Proficient in providing assistance to patients regarding facility operations and sorting out financial and social barrier issues. Experienced as point of contact for non-English speaking patients and advocating patient rights for different carriers. Experienced with contacting insurance companies to ensure all approvals are met.

Over 1 1/2 years of experience as a Service Representative II. I assisted in screening out patients needs in order to provide proper medical needs regarding registration, enrollment, and insurance verification. Other duties are scheduling appointments and taking messages for several doctors. Assist triage nurse by interpreting for Spanish speaking patients.

Paid as scheduled, scheduled meeting times.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Manager had favorite staff members ,constant change of immediate managers unprofessional doctors, getting angry with staff in front of patients. Staff fighting each other in patient areas. Not enforcing dress code.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, people schedule to work one area,constantly moved to other clinics, I'll equipment to work there.little or no  help when when patient load is heavy.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No longer working there.
Arrive to area with work that is scheduled for nurse,constantly being asked to answer phone calls that are miss directed.ask to assist with more then one clinic,while trying to do urgent call backs.schedule urgent visits after incorrectly triaged.attend virtual meetings at lunch time.

A typical day at work, is starts by revising my schedule for each department, internal medicine, peds ,mental health  and OBGYN,  I am assign for that day, print my schedule enter any patient that is not on my schedule. Walk around and make sure my name is on the board with extention so the M.A , Nurse , and provider knows who to call in case of my assisting ... have to look over my calling task for the day, call patients with f/u appt pending, rx that needs to be pick up, or any lab test pending for them, call pt with results and any f/u needed by dr orders.... I work with other interpreters, that speak other languages as well.  My job is not really difficult is rewarding I have the privilege besides my duties and responsabilities, to help others  communicated any health problems that they have so we can all together make them stay healty and feel better...

This company does not support staff effectively, rarely provide support that is helpful to its staff members. Daily operations of the company as a whole are not managed in an appropriate or effective manner.

Management of these employees is not difficult as long as you have the proper support 
There was a consistent lack of support from Director of Nursing and other Upper Management.
Co-workers are diligent hard workers that treat patients effectively.
I found the most difficult portion of this job surrounds the completion of reports that were not necessarily a part of your daily job description. This tends to monopolize time needed to focus on staff issues and patient concerns. However I really enjoyed  interacting with immediate staff they were very efficient and dedicated to patient care

A typical work day is constantly busy if working at the biggest center at Highlandtown. I learned that dealing with multiple personalities you have to stay humble, watch what you say to whom and mind your business. Management is not a subject to discuss just want to say that I never have a problem with anyone, long as you do what is expected of you there should be no problems. People are quick to blame management when their in the wrong. The workplace culture is challenging at times working with some not on the same page but a solution is always available. The hardest part of the job is staying cool, calm and collect when working at front desk being called out your name when trying to help someone that doesn’t listen. The most enjoyable part of the job is feeling ang being appreciated by your coworkers.

I enjoy working for BMS.  It has afforded me an opportunity to learn and grow in the healthcare field.  I believe the strong foundation it  provides is an asset to furthering my career goals,   

A typical day at work includes interacting with patients, staff and constituents in an effort to meet the needs of the community we serve. My co-workers and I have a mutual respect for one another, allowing us to work very well together.  

Being a manager has allowed me to develop individuals both professionally and personally.  However, the hardest part of my job, is not being able to impact more staff's professional growth.  The most enjoyable part of my job, is being a team member of a group of dedicated healthcare providers and support staff who want to positively impact the lives of patients we serve.

Baltimore Medical Systems is multifaceted in that they service the community through clinics and school based health progams. For the most part the employees are hardworking and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged. I take pride in the fact that I have the opportunity to work closely with teenagers, to make a difference in their lives and allow them to be themselves without being critical or judgemental. I appreciate Baltimore Medical Systems for allowing me to reach troubled youth, speaking their language, identifying with some of their life experiences, and sharing what life can be like aside from their circumstances. The hardest part of my job is allowing my children to make mistakes and learn some of life's hardest lessons, after telling them what consequences they may face before they make the mistake.

Training was not appropriate nor extensive, I repeatedly advised I felt I needed further training, scheduled Dr's appointments, management were related to one another not making yt a favorable environment, communication within themselves was not clear therefore information was not clearly communicated to call center representatives, direct supervisor was out for surgery when I was hired, unwelcoming environment, too many family relatives working within small calling center. The favorite part of my employment there was when I learned a new task or information and applied it correctly the pay was not favorable but driving distance was favorable for me to accept the position.
