I have been with Banyan Medical Systems for several years, and my experience has been incredibly rewarding. As a company committed to excellence and innovation in healthcare, Banyan provides a unique and dynamic work environment that is both challenging and fulfilling. If you cannot be flexible and adaptable to change as part of the innovation process, then do not recommend you work here. Those that thrive at  Banyan want to make continual improvements, those that do not want to keep the status quo of the traditional broken health care system.

Pros:
- Mission-Driven: Banyan’s dedication to transforming healthcare and supporting healthcare providers to deliver world-class patient care is truly inspiring. Every day, I feel like I'm part of something bigger, making a real difference in the industry. 

- People-Focused: The company genuinely cares about its employees. From comprehensive benefits packages, gifts on your birthday, anniversary, and Christmas. I have never gotten this from another company. Onsite employees get free drinks, snacks, etc.  We have several options for ongoing professional development opportunities to get all the CEUs needed for your license and/or certifications.  Most of our leaders have been promoted from within. Banyan invests in its team members’ well-being and growth.  Depending upon your positions the work hours and duties vary some jobs travel to clients site, others or in the office, and many work from home.  Take to your supervisor or HR about what you need  they are very helpful.

-Flexibility: The vast majority of our employees work from home, except those who are in Omaha, NE or Tampa, FL these employees work onsite in our Corporate or Virtual Care Center. Working remotely with our team mates has been seamless, thanks to Banyan's virtual infrastructure. The company ensures that remote employees feel connected and engaged through regular virtual meetings and utilizing chat to keep connected throughout the day.
Most employees have reduce workweeks, working 3 days at 12 hour shifts for nursing. The corporate jobs work typically work 5 days a week and have some flexibility on start times from 7-9 am. This is nice to adjust if you have personal needs to get done at beginning or end of shift if you work 5 days a week.

- Supportive Culture: The collaboration and support from colleagues across various departments are exceptional. There's a strong sense of friendship  and a shared commitment to achieving our goals.

- Innovation: Banyan continuously strives to innovate and improve. Whether it's developing new healthcare solutions or optimizing existing processes, the company fosters a culture of creativity and forward-thinking.

Cons: Fast-Paced Environment: The nature of the healthcare industry and Banyan’s rapid growth can sometimes make the work environment fast-paced and demanding. However, the support from the team and leadership helps manage these challenges effectively.

Overall, Banyan  is an excellent place to work. The company's commitment to its mission, values, and people is evident in every aspect of the workplace. I am proud to be part of an organization that is making such a positive impact in healthcare.  You can choose to make this a job or a career at Banyan, you get out what you put into it.

This company should have been ready and at the fore-front to provide remote services for COVID-19, it is not. 

The owner changes the direction of the company almost weekly. There are more "VP's" than there are service technicians to do the work. 

The technology has gone stale and is in a constant state of refresh/recycle. The people who originally created the software are no longer with the company (More than half of the employees on their Facebook page photo collage, aren't there anymore)

The equipment on sites in a lot of cases, is old and well passed EOL. 

There is no help desk, engineers are expected to be on-call 24/7.

The benefits are currently self-funded and garbage, my first year working with them, my health insurance policy lapsed twice due to lack of payment of my premiums, although the money was collected every payday without fail. 

Every time I was asked to travel, it was short notice, and I would usually find my corporate card wouldn't work or have a balance. 

They would create positions and encourage you to apply internally, make you go through multiple interviews, ask you to put a business plan together, then eliminate the position all-together, and implement your ideas as their own. 

There is no documentation or process for any single function. They use free-ware or generic software to manage day to day operations. 

When you are hired, as part of orientation they walk you through all of their social media sites instructing you to give positive feedback. 

This is not a tech company, it is a funding source for the owner's personal collection of "businesses" expensive cars and most recently private jet.

Accepted a job here despite seeing this review from 2018 on Indeed: "People are very disposable at this company. They let a lot of people go because have no employee dedication. They hire people for the immediate need with [no] intentions of long term employment."

I hoped that this was either sour grapes, or that the company had had time to stabilize.  Possibly the former is true, but unfortunately, time has not been the curative it could have been for stability.  Four months ago the company hired dozens of people, and then a month ago laid them all off.  New management has eliminated nurse positions and hours while creating administrative and secretarial positions. For those of us who remain, the focus is on productivity and efficiency rather than care and compassion.  Direction at this time is communicated as being similar to a call center environment, including call times and AI productivity tracking software. Frequent statements by management that unlicensed personnel could do work, and CNAs being tasked with assessing vital signs under nurse's license, regardless of patient acuity or diagnosis. Management also blames high healthcare costs in US on nurse education and certification expenses. Any employee engagement left, after the layoffs spooked everyone, is fading fast.  Management treats employees as the enemy rather than an asset.

There is no strategy here, only a great idea.  

Management is awful and they get rid of positions and try to create New silly positions that cost more. They hired some random new scheduler from Planet Mars that has no idea what she's doing and take 6 week to complete a schedule and then makes a mockery of it anyways, Every shift has to be reworked because she has clue what she's doing and has never worked our positions.  She was just randomly picked and we all get jilted because of what they tell her to do or else she's just doing whatever she wants. The hardest part is dealing with no communication from management and dealing with a scheduler who can cut  your hours because she thinks she knows what she's doing and our Charge nurse have to fix it every shift.  The most enjoyable part is getting to help the Bedside nurses and the patients.  They make it worth staying even when the company has really lost it's purpose. Seriously, It's gone from bad to worse.

I started working here to ease burnout from bedside nursing and initially loved it. However, they are always making changes to schedules, work hours, policies, duties, staff, etc. The inconsistency is stressful and impedes on personal lives. They create new positions then restructure by removing them—staff is constantly changing. Management has been the worst part of the job. It seems like they do not understand what we actually do and they are not supportive of their staff. Management cares about numbers and not patient care. We are usually short staffed (too many managers) so each virtual nurse expected to do the work of 2-4  virtual nurses without extra pay. I dread checking emails and attending meetings because management is so toxic, unsympathetic, and negative. I do like working from home and communicating with patients. If they could be more consistent and realistic with expectations, as well as staff appropriately, it would be a much more enjoyable job. They would retain staff if they actually listened to their staff and provided support instead of throwing numbers in our faces while we struggle. 

I've been here for a year now and the company has changed extensively since I began. There is constant disorganization, changes being made every day, and terrible communication to the staff. There has been staff leaving every week to no surprise. It's normal for staff to be training other employees when they had no training themselves, with no resources to rely on. Team leads/Charge nurses are picked from the group of who is willing to do it, not by who is actually qualified or who would be a good candidate. Taking that role is well-known to include a significant increase in your time, duties, and verbal abuse from upper management. 
On another note, HR is a mess and changed staff's pay without notifying them. This happened to myself and many of my coworkers. Everyone pointed a finger at each other when I needed someone to explain what was going on, and a written agreement I had for my pay rate was disregarded completely costing me a 20% pay decrease. 

I could go on and on, but in short, I would never recommend anyone to work here. 
It's surprising that this company is still standing. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
No one knows or cares what you are doing, mostly due to the lack of knowledge on basic practical businss processes. Each department does thier own thing without thought of boundary department needs that need to met at each department level. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
A top to bottom, Executive to Janitor, Reactive business design for a business model that needs to be Proactive. No direction or notification at department level needs until the latest posissible second, all while Exec and Sr Management know 6 months to a year in advance.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Disorganized, Closed Door, Disrespectful, Non-Apreciarice, Out of Touch. All practices stuck in the 20th century 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Non-STOP putting out fires due to the lack or organization, communications, and support. Most Execs and Sr Management have no practical experience or knowledge in areas that they Dictate to

Like every nursing job, it is fast-paced, and there is often more work than the team can complete.  Working from home after working at the bedside is like walking in the rain after braving a thunderstorm.  A typical day begins with a short role call with a few reminders about quality improvement.  We break off into teams and work at our hospital sites the rest of the day.  We do admissions, discharges, education, care planning, and rounding on patients.  We have team leads who supervise us directly.  The team leads are very supportive. My group manager is an exceptionally gifted transactional leader.  We have minimal contact with upper management.  They are not transparent.  I do not wish to accept an advanced role because of that.

What I like most about my job is my team.  We are supportive of each other.  We care about the patients.

If you are a person that wants to grow professionally, be appreciated, likes organization and wants to be heard...then move on. Banyan is all about clicks, who you kiss up to, and the company & those that run it have no idea what planning or processes are. The company brags about innovation but are in fact seriously behind in technology, and unless you jump every time one of the MANY execs say something you are a nobody and will never get anywhere. And don't think you can bring new ideas to the table. There are MANY execs and MANY managers that will push it away and cause fear in the company so that it stays out. There is NO accountability, NO order, NO processes, NO planning, NO documenting...but there is enough confusion and chaos to supply the entire world until the end of time. 

If you are comfortable with just making a paycheck, working with technology and people that got stuck 10 years ago, and you don't care about your work then by all means, you'll fit right in.
