Though I've learned a LOT from the night shift nurses, who are always willing to teach you something new if you ask, I've had a lot of issues with day shift nurses and techs trying to get night shift people in trouble with false claims or things that aren't wrong. It makes me nervous to go to work sometimes, knowing administration is always on the side of day shift and that day shift looks for things to get onto night shift about.
The compensation is also very poor for the number of patients given to each tech and the amount of work you actually do. Most nights I can have up to 10 total care patients and night shift is expected to bathe all total care patients each shift, with day shift not being required to. There have been some shifts where I haven't had time for lunch nor been able to sit down for more than 5 minutes at a time. 
$10.00 an hour for the heavy patient load and high expectations isn't worth it. I was paid more to do the same tasks at another hospital, and was never given such a demanding patient load. I love my coworkers here and my manager is always polite and helpful if I reach out to her, but unless you're a nursing student...even with experience as a tech or CNA, you won't make much more than $10 here. 
PRN workers have to work 2 shifts a week, as does part time, for anyone wondering about that.

In other departments that I have worked in the managers were very understanding of work life balance in my previous role, not quite at all

● Pay & benefits
Salary is not competitive and the health insurance is extremely high for a healthcare organization

● Job security and advancement
Minimal trading opportunities. When requesting for training or conferences I found that it was always a “budget” issue in my department.

● Management
Never speak up against wring doing from your managers or you could face your job being eliminated (but reopened 2 months after your laid off). The best thing to do is do your job and go home.... the moment you involve HR in any issues you may be feeling as an employee things get really catty and I know this from experience of greater than 8 years with the company

● Culture
The culture needs ALOT of work but Baptist is aware of that. However, there are many factors that play a role in the culture at Baptist including upper leadership painting pretty pictures to the CEO that does not represent the culture truthfully. Nurses and other front line staff as well as patients are not treated with respect and dignity by the physicians who only get a slap on the wrist

● Overall
I wanted to leave this review because while there are great people at Baptist that do their job and love it. I have seen too many good people having their backs stepped on as a step stool for someone else’s advancement. If you want to work hard but get no recognition for all of your hard work, spoken to disrespectfully, and minimal advancement opportunities (friends hire friends and previous employees outside of the organization before hiring inside the department) then this is a great fit for you. Everything that I have written is factual and can be supported.

Culture and the opportunity to make a difference in other peoples lives.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Just like with any company workload and deadlines as well as sometimes ambiguous requests where you have to spend extra time to find out what you really need to do. Really depends on what role and location you work in. Obviously the ER is probably the most stressful area. I consider my area, more on the business side just when we need to meet last minute deadlines but it really isn't that stressful.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The organization has values such as Ownership, Integrity, Compassion, Excellence and Service. Other than these I work with a great team of people and enjoy getting to work with them daily because they are passionate about making a difference for the people and community we serve.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
We start the mornings with a huddle, then move on to various projects. Most days for me are fairly busy between project, meetings and helping other team members, but its a good type of busy.

This is an awesome company to work for especially in the psych units. We have a family like atmosphere that lends itself to great work. The management will always try to help you if you need days off or if you need extra training. I have learned all about how to handle psych patients and I accredit this to the training I received. 

A typical day is very fast paced and busy with little down time. many times we become task saturated but co-workers are always willing to jump in and help. It can get tough at times but we always seem to get through it. 

The one thing that I would change is staffing for acuity. The company has a tendency to skeleton staff when there are a lot of highly acute patients that can easily turn violent. When this is the case, employees tend to get hurt. I know that there have been a number of employees hurt recently by violent patients.

Baptist Hospital is an awesome place to work.The staff there are wounderful people,easy to get along with, and very helpful. The customers are great people also. A typical day consists of cooking or ringing up customers, enjoying short conversations,and feeling like you've made someone happy in the process. I've learned that when you treat people with respect and diginity, there's not a better feeling.Management was great, although there may have been 1 or 2 that could have used some extra training on how to treat people.My co-workers were awesome.The hardest part of my job was slow nights. On slow nights I would finish my work early and then get sleepy,so I would have to make up things to do. Once I cooked an extra dish that was not on the menu,although all the customers loved it, I sort of got in trouble for it.The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to make so many people happy. It's a really wonderful feeling.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I loved the providers that I worked with but the management was horrible and not held accountable.  HR is no advocate for employees not even mediators.  They are not consistent with replying to employee inquiries and they do not do proper investigations.  Chain of command doesn’t seem to resolve issues either.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not enough staff to do a thorough job, people are stretched to thin.  Baptist employees business trained people to manage clinical setting, doesn’t bode well.

My work environment was toxic due to management.  The providers were excellent and tried their best to make up for lack in leadership and management.

Very stressful and over worked.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The employees . The upper management not so good.i was a supervisor for 5 years employed 23 years.i had a situation to happen and HR was called in. Needless to say they were not interested in the reasoning even if I had never been involved in any situation that involved the HR of Baptist Hospital. So I was terminated after23 years of service. I was so disappointed. Upper management needs some classes on feelings ,caring  and compassion. I really loved my job and the patients .So surprised .

Not making upper management mad at u.

Employees are caring and friendly we care about each other.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, and caring for patients.

My biggest and only complaint was that my department was desperate for people so they hired us on quickly without telling us it was a call center environment. Personally I can’t handle that type of atmosphere, but the job was a good foot-in-the-door for healthcare. What they told you in training and what was implemented in the department were different but they were working on better communication  The position gave me a lot of transferable skills and looks good on a resume  The reason I left I’s because we moved out of state  They say they like to hire from within, but I didn’t have any luck  I was desperate to get away from the call center but was turned down every position I applied for  Of course they typically already have a candidate in mind  If you’re comfortable with a call center, you’ll like this job very much

A typical day here usually starting early for me, with coffee in hand, print up the necessary paper, check in with management, I would collect the first group of patient to interview then it was off the floors of the hospital to meet the patient and gather information. The days flew by because we were always busy and for the most part the coworkers were enjoyable to be around. I learned better time management skills and how be a Sherlock Holmes for patient prescriptions. What I mean is most people don't come to the hospital  with a list of all their medications and unfortunately a lot of people don't know what they are taking either. So it was our job to sleuth our way to the answers and I very much enjoyed doing this research.

A typical day at work consists of ensuring that patient/family needs are top priority; performing job duties to the absolute best of our abilities.  I have learned that God and Christian values still count for something in the workplace. The hardest part of the job is the constant walking, stooping, bending, lifting with only two optional 15-minute breaks and one assured 30-minute lunch in 8-hour period.  The physical toll combined with stringent policy adherence penalties tend to lower morale somewhat.  The most enjoyable part of the job is bringing companionship, cleanliness and smiles to the patient and/or patient's family members.
