I absolutely loved my job at Baxter. I was laid off this year and the one complaint I have is the lack of knowledge about employees and their duties. I went above and beyond in position and had done several things to improve my direct department. I was the go to for questions or troubleshooting in the entire clinic. I created training manuals for all of the floats and new hires. I was an ECW super user. I had so many responsibilities on top of going to school full time to further my career with the company and then I was laid off even though I had seniority. I do not believe that middle management had an accurate picture of my job and the things I accomplished on a daily basis as they only relied on feedback from a manager who had frustrations due to recent health problems I'd had. My coworkers were shocked and honestly I was devastated. I had zero disciplinary anything and had just finished training to take on more responsibilities. I'd say the company could benefit from obtaining their knowledge on individual employee performance from more than one source. I do not feel the dedication I had to the company was returned due to this. I would work there again though. I was very proud to be part of the Baxter family. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
They overwork you and underpay you . Their insurance is worthless and the head tech recycles technicians every two years to keep the payroll down. It’s where all good technicians go to end the careers. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The head technician and the pharmacy director , only interested in keeping their jobs which means letting go of whoever the company executives tell them too . Regardless of the technician’s performances or experience in pharmacy. Worthless place to work . Underpaid and over worked . It’s like factory work and assembly line jobs . 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Similar to war environments, you never know who’s coming after you next . Cannot trust anyone , especially the HR department, they are set up to protect the hospital not the people who work there . 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No support from the pharmacy director, you are constantly watching your back . He has no idea what goes on with the technicians and doesn’t care . They are useless and replaceable to him . Depends on the head Technician who also follows her/his own personal interests instead of the interests of the patient and the pharmacy. Toxic people toxic place to work

What is the best part of working at the company?
My supervisors and fellow employees.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Trying to do 3 full time jobs in an eight hour shift

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most of the nurses and Doctors are great. House keeping people are top of the line but treated like poopoo by their own bosses

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Came in and did 1/4 of my first job. (a 8 hour Job) then did my main jobs about 5 hours of work. Then went to try to cram in another 6 hours of work in about the rest of the day I killed myself trying to do the rest. I filled the position of 3 people in one job then they gave me another 8 hour job that was filled by one person on top of doing the a five hour job then started to complain that I did not do a good enough job. I started in floor care then they took me off it and put me in doing office. Look at the floors in the hospital now to see hoe messed up they are and know they were not like that when I cleaned them

The patient is our main focus!  As it should be!! The best work environment I have ever participated in.  Most coworkers are very kind within this family orientated workforce.  I call the group I work with "my second family.".  There is a closeness and cooperation in a similar group thought.  The upper management has changed a few years ago and has been toward betterment.  If you are looking for satisfactory pay, yearly free company picnic, benefits which includes the company giving a percentage to the employee retirement, a fantastic group of employees that can make decisions toward their own workplace, a wonderful wellness program, a free area at hospital that is an exercise room for all employees to enjoy 24/7,  a great area to fish,  (gorgeous area!)...and the list continues...that is why I have been their employee over 18 years!!   The Doctors are the finest too!  This may, indeed, be a place for you!

I have 649 volunteers with 649 different personalities and trying to keep them all happy day to day can be somewhat challenging...but I take the time to learn their likes and dislikes and how to accomidate their needs while volunteering at BRMC..My co-workers and I are a team ...more like family. The hardest part of my job is growing so close to these volunteers...some of which are up in age and I have had many to pass away during my employment...as I said we have all become one large family...The most enjoyable part of my job is to watch my volunteers enjoy what they do...many are widowed and other have had such good medical services through our hospital that they wanted to give back by volunteering to show their appreciation...

I'm reading reviews of BRMC from 2013, and 2016, and I'm disappointed how little have changed in this hospital since those years. So sad! 
The favoritism is still here in the full strength, as is the behavior of it's doctors and management. Dictatorship is a dominant management style here. 
One review from the past mentions, that you will be told when you should have your appointments. I personally worked in the department, were having an appointment wasn't recommended at all, unless you are doing it during your vocation, just because there is nobody to relieve you. (I worked Monday through Friday.)

If you enjoy being told that you are lucky to have a job, then this place is for you!

I actually enjoyed working here until I had to leave and discovered other hospitals who treat their employees much better. If you find a group of people to get along with, you’ll do fine. If anyone decides they don’t like you, there will be a target on your back. Open communication and resolving conflicts like adults is not a thing here. There’s a lot of favoritism toward certain nurses and specific units are allowed to pick and choose which patients they can take based on little issues they find by digging around their charts. 
Overall I enjoyed my time here and worked with some really great people but the small town gossip is just something I couldn’t overcome.

The patient work and working with the ER team of doctors and nurses. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Politics with management. Giving raises to those who were held in favor and get secretive bonuses to upper management while they plead loses to the front line workers.

They sometimes didn’t follow OSHA rules, and tried to cut corners by purchasing less than safe equipment. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Worked afternoons which meant cleaning up the short comings of the day shift. The company kept adding more clinics for us to process with no additional staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I like the amount of time I get to spend with my patients. A typical stay is approximately two weeks, in which time I get to know them fairly well and witness a great deal of progress. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Some of my peers make the working environment much more difficult than it should be.

Toxic during the week, but laid back and enjoyable on the weekends.

A typical day of treatment is usually a rewarding experience if viewed through the lens of one on one patient care.
