If you’re looking to be a logistics telemarketer then this is the job for you. The market is oversaturated (although they will try to make you believe it’s not) with phone call salesman. So many other companies offering the same service and have a more competitive edge over BBI. There are some good people at BBI and they try to make the culture fun which is where my two stars come from…but that is to counterbalance the fact that being a phone call sales executive is mentally taxing. You will make at least  60-80 calls per day (90-95% will be a waste) just to speak to a few people who already have a service provider. It would be like someone from cricket wireless calling you about their fantastic service when you already have ATT or Verizon…To put it in another way… when you get random numbers calling your phone these days do you answer? The commission structure is not as good as other sales jobs and it will take a while to really form a core base of customers to even make an average income..The base salary is laughable. Do not get me wrong. You CAN make a lot of money but it will take a while and will require a stronger economy unless you are naturally lucky. This job is intended for young adults fresh out of college who are looking to start a career and are unsure what a livable salary is. Turnover rate here must be 98+%. May be an ok opportunity in a few years but with the current status of “freight” and the economy you will likely be shown the door for not making your sales goals (which are boarder line impossible to hit right now)  or understanding that now is not the time to get into this type of sales and leave on your own. This type of sales only thrives in a market that is booming so that the overflow that the larger transportation companies cannot handle are spilled onto the plates of 3pls. 

a typical day at work,: 0730 start, 1 hr lunch. Leave at 5 unless you are doing business after hours with customers or dealing with truck drivers. 80 calls per day with sprinkled in emailing. 

what you believe you learned,:  That phone sales are the cringiest thing I’ve ever tried to do. 

management,: all are pretty cool and are driven for the business to succeed. I feel like this is often in part why they are blinded to the fact that what is being asked is unrealistic at the moment. 

workplace culture,: Really good. Cool people most under 30. Positive attitudes. You’ll likely form some friendships. They try to feed you pretty often and have discounted tickets to events in Columbus. That is honestly the only cool part about the place
the hardest part of the job,: phone call cold calls are Brutal. Prepare for most people to hate you lol…or just not answer the phone. I don’t blame them I don’t answer mine for random numbers anymore either. We all know they are telemarketers 98% of the time. 

the most enjoyable part of the job: interacting with the people. Honestly the people are all that make this place good. A lot of cool helpful people. But in my opinion if the job itself isn’t good then the culture isn't enough to keep me. 



I was looking for a company where I could make an immediate impact through my day-to-day work and be recognized for that hard work.  I wanted a company culture that was fun, energetic, and had a positive outlook on life and work.  I’ve found all of that and more with BBI.  I have an amazing support system within my team, and I’ve been welcomed by everyone I’ve met. 
Work hard, play hard is certainly a cliché, but that’s what it’s like here.  You come to work, work your butt off, and then leave and go to happy hour with coworkers.  You can feel the energy on the sales floor.  Everyone is here to support one another.  It’s honestly no wonder BBI was named one of the best places to work.  
From the moment I applied, I had honest and transparent conversation with everyone I interacted with.  I was made to feel welcome and valued from the first interview, through training, and now as a full-time employee.

This is a great company to get your feet wet especially if this is your first office job. They truly do a great job of teaching you everything you need to know and more when you first start. I feel like I have grown a lot of great skills since starting at BBI. This all being said, some somethings should be considered before joining the "BBI Family". Once they are done teaching you it is very much a sink-or-swim environment and I have noticed an increase in turnover since starting here. Recruiters will oversell your position with false promises. Management is inexperienced, are low EQ, will withhold information and most of them are just old friends of the Chief Officers. They will claim it's a "fun work environment" but it's more like childish and annoying behavior. My final thoughts are to proceed with caution if you are looking to join the company but  you can find success here. 

BBI Logistics has a fast-paced  work environment. Management has an open door policy, employees must be creative when finding new customers, and comfortable with heavy outbound calling (this is very crucial). This job keeps you on your toes, everyday is different. Very team orientated environment. If you put in the time and work you have the ability to make a lot of money in the first few years. this job requires you to work occasional weekends and holidays. Must be accessible by phone if needed. Unlimited earning potential along with a competitive base salary. We have a brand new office in the heart of downtown with a relaxed dress code and company perks include, company outings, happy hours, pizza Fridays, and catered lunches.

Stay away from jobs here! CEO, management, and HR are terrible. Completely take advantage of employees- expect you to work crazy hours for a terrible and embarrassing salary. There is no structure or organization. It is an extremely bizarre culture. Most senior employees here are friends from high school and it creates a very bizarre culture. There’s a few people who have it great and everyone else suffers. I am so glad I quit this place. I would not recommend this to anyone. It’s a dead end thankless job with awful inflexible and cruel people. 

Typical day- Mornings are busy... come in ready to hit the ground running. You will check on everything you have going on, ensure OTD and see what is going on for the upcoming day.

I have learned high level negotiation techniques, sales techniques, multi-tasking 

Management is understanding and helpful. Every manager has been in the shoes of a trainee. They will always take time to listen and try to help.

Workplace culture- competitive but also friendly and laid back.

Hardest part of job- this is sales, enough said.

Best part of job- financially rewarding and not a place to dread when coming to the office.

Autonomous work environment with limitless earnings potential. You get out what you put in here. There are many avenues and angles for one to showcase their creativity and work-ethic. Hard-work and ingenuity will surely gain results in compensation with this sales-driven environment. Management is fair and respectful with genuine desire to see their employees succeed both personally and professionally. Great office in the heart of downtown Columbus with many amenities. A very team-oriented environment. I love it here!

I decided to quit bbi because it wasn’t the job they advertised in the interview. Most people don’t make more than the base salary which is barely livable. They encourage burnout culture. Management is inexperienced. Turnover rate has to be 98%. Top performers constantly leaving due to compensation structure. No upward growth/mobility. Awful job security

Their are many great people who work here being taking advantage of. The problem is not the work itself, the problem is leadership and the problem is management. There is zero training and the CEO expects you to be at work much longer than the 8am-5pm required work time. If you want to work here you must have NO life outside of work. I know People, I’ve lead people my whole life and this place is as bad as it gets in terms of leadership and transparency.

Don’t really need to say much else for anyone who is familiar with Logistics. They say a bunch of grand promises then fall flat. 

It’s an ok place to work, wouldn’t go out of my way like I did to work here again.
