This is the worst company I have ever worked for.  I was hired to be an administrative assistant.  They "lost" me on the warehouse floor for 7 months!  I have never been on a warehouse floor in my life.  I was then transferred into the office as an international logistics coordinator when they transferred this department from Brea, CA.  What a joke!  Absolutely no training other than watching Power Point slides.  We were basically thrown into our desks and told to do the job.  They hired a supervisor for our department outside of the company.  All I will say is "incompetent".  Several employees (including myself) complained about her unprofessional manner, rudeness and incompetence.  Nothing was done.  I walked off of my job (something I have never done) after witnessing her once again treat a coworker with disrespect.  Management is a joke!  No transparency at all. You doubt everything you are told.  A total Stepford Wives work environment.  Work/life balance is pathetic.  You can be ready to leave work for the day and have a supervisor insist you stay to work on her last minute business.  No notice, no asking, you are just TOLD you must stay.  Management is all about themselves and their bonuses.  Employee wages are stagnant.  Temporary employees are paid several dollars an hour more than full time permanent employees.  If you're looking for a job and don't care about your personal life, wages or how you are treated by management, apply at Beckman.  There will be a mass exodus soon.  Note to management - you get out of employees what you put into them.  Stop feeding them lies.  Stop worrying about your bonus and pay your employees more than temps.  Listen to your employees.  Hire competent supervisors. One last thing....going to HR about any issues is useless!  No results.  Always sides with management/supervisor.  They are the "cool kids with the in club".

With the purchase by Danaher Corporation, Beckman Coulter has resulted in continual change.  

Responsible for the second largest revenue in Life Sciences at Beckman Coulter, developing and enhancing a team environment in seven States with Service, Sales, and Applications.  Directly responsible to lead a service team that achieves revenue goals, enhances customer satisfaction levels, and improves operational metrics while enhancing employee’s development. 
	Assisted Management team with Tactical and Strategic operations with clearly defined execution to ensure field readiness.  Worked in conjunction to ensure customer satisfaction levels, operational metrics, and revenue enhancements to ensure targets are met.
	Develop strategies to stop year over year 3% losses due to third party companies and increased annual Service Sales revenue by 6% annually. Key member in developing Asset Management for Beckman Coulter Nationwide including business plan, strategies, pricing, and marketing.
	Identified over $200,000 in cost savings opportunities by enhancing the Forward Stocking Locations (FSL) for the East Zone.  FSL had immediate impact towards customer satisfaction levels, IFO (income from operations), and mean time between failures.  Requested by Corporate Management to augment project nationwide and FSL methodology being used for other businesses units globally.

Have been in the field as a service rep for over 6 years now. I have been pulled in many different directions to help different areas either due to lack of support or miscommunication with the coordination team, or lack of attention from the coordinators. I LOOOOOVE my fellow engineers. We have a very tight team culture, but with COVID and other logistical issues, we have lost our abilities as a team to gather and build relationships, as well as moral. Management is great, but most of the time it is difficult working with them because they are way overtasked. I have not had a one-on-one meeting with my direct manager for almost 4 months. And the most annoying thing of all is the constant micro-managing of Metrics and KPI's. Simply being engineers and taking care of our customers needs to be brought back to the forefront of our business, not worrying about how fast I am driving to get to my customer, or if I've arrived before 9 AM, or if I've communicated with my customer before the 30 minutes after receiving a dispatch. We have lost our way as a company, and need to get back on track ASAP. 
I love my company, but I am seriously considering seeking another opportunity to grow in a better work environment. THINGS NEED TO CHANGE QUICK!

I was brought on as a contract worker full time and was warmly welcomed by my team. My department had a family type relationship with each other and I was treated fairly. My job was to monitor the company's website and document errors and improvements. I often did a lot of tedious work but when I reached out to help in other areas of the department I was usually added to another task. The work environment is clean, mostly quiet, and welcoming. My department went on several team outing during the 11 months I was there including Punch Bowl Social, Main Event, IMS track practice, and several team pitch ins. The building also has a track around the big pond in the back plus an on-site gym which offered classes. If you forgot lunch or need a snack that have a convenient vending area where you can buy both fresh food items and packaged snacks and drinks. I enjoyed working here but my only complaint is that I was led on to believe that the company was going to sign me on for a regular full time position out of contract. My future at the company took a quick turn when they decided to let me go due to staffing cost.

A typical day at work: I turn on machinery, program 2D bar code printers with the correct information for the specific job, then wait until the heat tunnel gets to 307*F. At this point, I start to pass kits through a series of sections of the machine. It starts with the scale. I set the scale on grams to let me know if the kit has anything missing or extra inside. Next, the kit goes through the first 2D bar code printer, then through L Sealer and into the Shanklin Heat tunnel. Then four kits go into a shipping case, through tape machine and then the 2D bar code printer for the shipping case. After I pass the kits that are done I will start to separate materials for the next job. 

What I have learned: Learned to drive a stand-up fork lift. A lot of different training, such as Hazmat, Workplace Harassment, Ergonomics, Workplace Safety, etc... 

Management is always making sure how we are doing, checking to see if we need anything or have any ideas on how to make our job more efficient.

Workplace Culture is great. Everybody helps each other out and gets along.  Great workplace environment. 

The hardest part of the job is to make sure the product it put together correctly and that the deadline is met.

The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that the product that we make and put together is saving lives around the world.

Morning calls came in via text messages or had to sync database for current tasks assigned for the day at about 7:30 am. Reviewed previous repairs of instrument and punch in and leave home with travel time to customer ranging from 1/2 hr to 4 hrs. Call customer to give ETA and to discuss service repair issue. Call dispatch to update ETA or to inform if issue was resolved over the phone with the customer, Arrive on site if issue was not resolved over the phone to assess and resolve the issue. Complete and close field service report and send copy to customer. Call next customer in line for service and repeat the steps above. Travel home or stay overnight if travel is greater than 90 miles. Review inventory, on line training, emails etc. during any down time throughout the day. Management stood behind us and listened most of the time. Co-workers were and awesome team. Everyone was always willing to help each other out. The hardest part of the job was having to leave a customer down because a part needed to be ordered and the best part was to resolve the problem when the customer expected resolution the following day.

The role I was hired into was presented as something entirely different. Lots of gotcha's left out. You are given a car to travel in, but they fail to tell you it's a $50/week payroll deduction to have this car. They fail to inform you that the first and last 15 mins of the day are considered "commute" time and are not paid. So you need to punch in early to get paid fairly. 

The work culture is a very negative dynamic. Bitter employees and open rivalry between team areas. Field Engineers, Applications, Sales, etc. all despise each other. It's a wonder anything can be accomplished.  New ideas are not encouraged, it's easier to do the same thing that was done 30 years ago than risk exposure if an idea does not lead to a profound change to the bottom line. 

Upper management changes every quarter, especially if the ROI is not obtained. This leads to a severe disconnect for goals, company or team. No one knows what direction to proceed half the time. 

In summary, this is not a company for a seasoned professional to work for. It may be good for someone to gain some experience in a specific role, but long term if you stay you will become one of the bitter, negative employees that fills the ranks.

Performed the raw material, in process and finished good testing procedures to ensure that all
components/products met their predetermined specifications at each stage of manufacture
procedure and product life cycle. Schedule testing to ensure OTD of product
Prepared release documentation, Non-conformance reports/OOS Reports & investigations, Batch
record Review. Reviewed Procedures and Protocols, and updated based on current standards
and regulations
Performed the required QC testing/inspection in accordance to company standard operating
procedure and applicable regulatory standards, cGMP.
Completed all necessary training on time in accordance with Company Regulations and
standards. Thereafter training other employees on subject matter and analytical techniques
Followed and implemented safety protocol for Laboratory setting when necessary. Adhering to
set standard and always in compliance with PPE.
Executed against projects plans and goals as assigned by quality management. In charge of
receiving and sampling controls/calibrators to test for bacterial growth throughout process

Good place to work if you can hide in the shadows. If your productivity rates stand out as higher than others they'll use and abuse you until you're burnt out. All while making less than others. They'll expect you to do weeks worth of work in a few days, then put someone else who is significantly slower than you on your specific job because you're ahead and rotate you around to save other departments. Then when you make it back to your job you'll have to once again work harder than everyone else to get your department caught back up. Management will tell you things like "you're expectations are perfection" and will never give you any acknowledgement for how hard you work. The raises suck and it's one of the lowest paying warehouse positions in NKY. I loved working here for years but when they hired on new toxic management 'leaders' the new focus is how much money they can save, even if that means running on the smallest crew possible and burning out good employees while refusing to compensate them they way they deserve. They give 4 weeks of PTO, but only 1 person per department can be out on PTO at a time so good luck trying to plan any vacation.

Beckman Coulter has been an awesome place to work. There are unfortunate bits about it. Unfortunately there is strong Silo mentality that has existed since I started up here. This makes it so all groups are group centric and make it hard to get work done. Additionally BCI was cracked down on by the FDA and since then the process to make simple changes is so demanding as far as paperwork and required authorizations that it makes it very difficult to run simple changes through.

Overall I absolutely LOVE the people I work with and this is true for people company wide at all sites. It is amazing how a company filled to the brim with good people would have a hard time getting things processed quickly.

Last note is that one major complaint is that organic advancement is very difficult. Generally people (especially in my field) do not get promoted. We work many levels ahead of our career band. Amazingly the title change would be enough for me.
