I started there fresh out of CNA class- no experience. The interview made me feel excited. It was followed by a week of orientation- you get paid for. Then you get a schedule immediately after orientation. Our lead CNA cares about us. She will help us anyway she can. Our management has been so caring towards both the residents and the workers. The nurses and CNAs treat each other like family. I have worked all shifts. I have worked as CNA on the hall, transporation, and central supply. I loved each job I had. Their schedule makes sure everyone gets a weekend or two each month. We work three or four days then off a day or two. We can get our normal hours or we can work on extra shifts- we choose to work part of it or all of it. We have good benefits. We can purchase meals for $2.50 and it's a full meal with desert and tea. I like it here. It has worked with me when I need to get extra hours, switch shifts, was sick, or wanted to try different positions. I did have one bully there but they cared enough to address the problem and it was resolved quickly. We work as a team and it flows smoothly. Our facility is clean and we take pride in keeping it up to date. I would reccomend it for anyone to work here.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The  people I worked with and for  ,the environment overall was so homey. It just felt like you were at home, and the sweet blessed residents  there

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
That it was hard to keep people on the shift with you everybody call now, not having enough workers so you had to do it by yourself things that you were mandatory do with someone else you had to do by yourself

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I just said that the environment the work environment was awesome except for short staffed. The culture was really even I loved working there. And if it wasn’t for my back surgeries, I would still be there.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day at work Was  very easy as long as you kept your job section up I was able to help others. I loved it except for if we’re short-staffed.

I learned a critical new peace of information everyday pertaining the human body, and stages it developed over time.
I learned to be a successful leader to make sure residents got the best care.
I had good co-workers, and I did not give the opportunity to deny team work, or anger, I always brought the best out of my co-workers, I was one of the ones that could work with all staff smoothly.
The hardest part of the job was death of a resident, and not the thought of not being able to give some more quality time. I always gave extra time to talk and show my heart, but it was times I could not, and it bothered me.
The most enjoyable moments were after every bath, brief cleaning, toileted, feed, dressed up, and watching and knowing he, or she feels fresh, and dignity is lifted. The feeling was always worth the labor

Overall there are some good people who work here. Communication is very poor.  Communication is key especially when you are so short staffed. Not everyone is held accountable for wrong doings. You won’t be fired because management likes to pretend they are unaware of problematic issues. Ignorance is bliss. That’s preferable right?  Anyway it has really gone down hill and Covid is not to blame.  If you need a job until something else comes up then it’s good for that. You probably won’t move up no matter how good you are at your job, don’t expect a raise. New hires are often paid more than current employees even with less experience. Frequent call ins are accepted. Ancillary staff make clinical decisions. Management from different departments can’t stay in their own lane. Patient acuity seems to overwhelm the nursing staff. Plenty of PPE during covid. Food is really good, they feed staff for free during covid. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
For me it is the health insurance and the pay is competitive. As a nurse the work  can be challenging but that is anywhere. I like working for Bedford care center because they do treat their employees fairly. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Adapting to the different behaviors of dementia residents.  Just takes time to learn the personalities of each resident that you care for. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is laid back. We have a DON that is easy to talk to and listens to your concerns: More importantly she will attempt to correct the problem if she can. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work the evening shift. I come in check the residents. Get report. Then start preparing for the rest of my shift.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They fed us every shift.  The staff worked together and it was a pleasant working environment. It was small, so not many patient to staff ratio, and it was relatively clean.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The charting was the most stressful, it takes away from taking care of the person. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was pleasant as well as the culture. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I worked evenings, so we came in checked and did a round, charted, then took dinner orders, then passed water and ice then not to long the dinner trays came and we passed out trays, fed people that needed to be fed, took up trays and did rounds and charted until shift ended.

A typical day at work is clocking in to realize that they’re understaffed once again, and are requiring you to count two carts. If you refuse, they’ll fire you regardless of being hired and it stating 1:20 ratio. They think it’s safe to take care of 40+ residents alone. The management is terrible, and they don’t care about you. They don’t answer the phone, they’ll leave you to fend for yourself whenever no one shows up. The ADON sits in the office, and offers no assistance when they’re short handed. The charge nurses (except one) refuse to count the carts. They’re “too good” for that, and to pass medicine. The administrator is messy, has no knowledge and tries to include hisself in nursing work but has no nursing degree. 

I love working at Bedford in Hattiesburg Ms. I find that the staff really does care about the residents and work hard to keep them comfortable and the nursing staff are dedicated and professional. Management takes good care of everyone including employees, the pay is above average and the benefits really are good. I stay with this company simply because they do seem to care and they provide a living wage. Of course it isn’t all easy but if you have a problem talk to your supervisor or administrator and they will work hard to make it right. If you are looking for a good company to work for and love the elderly and would like to make a difference in their lives by all means come to work with us! We are will be glad to have you!

So far this job is okay . It’s of the few CNA positions I’ve had that’s okay . I’d recommend working here but stay to yourself . It’s not the place of friendships but of work . If you stay to yourself you stay out of a lot of drama and mess . Also , most cnas help out there’s a few bad apples and the nurses expect you to do things you’re not trained on like changing a colostomy bag , etc because they’re too lazy to do it AND they are lazy ! Especially the older nurses whose been there for years and don’t care but to do the bare minimum.but preach on things you need to do the right way to not lose your license.  Lots of opportunities for more hours if needed though and they throw in little goodies along the way like free lunch on holidays or a pair of scrubs , holiday pay etc. So it’s not the worst place to be and close to an ok place to be

I enjoy working at this facility, but the staff do not work as a team. The CNAs have no voice when it comes to the residents. They can tell the nurses about the residents and they do not take them serious until something happens to them. The administrator always express that everyone suppose to answer the call lights, but some of the nurses do not answer them. They will be standing in front of the call light. The hardest part of the job is not providing proper care to the residents because the lack of laundry. Not being able to provide care because linen is not being provided at a reasonable time. The most enjoyable part of the job is listening to the residents tell their stories.
