BeOne increasingly resembles a CRO rather than a sponsor, with a strong emphasis on operational execution and extensive performance metrics. The volume of metrics and reporting requirements creates a significant administrative burden and shifts focus away from quality.

There are ongoing challenges with planning and communication, including frequent last-minute requests and insufficient advance notice for deliverables that increases workload pressure and a higher risk of reduced quality due to constrained timelines.

Very limited investment in employee career and recent reductions in equity and benefits have further impacted employee engagement. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay, equity, and benefits are top notch. The remote working conditions are also valuable. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is minimal support at this company. They have not invested in technology, or AI to enable their employees to be more productive. They are also understaffed, and you'll do the work of two people. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture is nearly toxic, you working long hours and have minimal support. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Meetings in the mid morning, light early afternoon, then meetings in the late afternoon and evening (due to the global team).

Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to learn and grow our omnichannel and digital capabilities. Fast paced, empowering environment where a solutions-oriented mindset is rewarded. I learned to be more agile and flexible in my thinking and creative in how I achieve my business objectives. The most challenging part of the job is pace in which our strategic objectives shift. It can be challenging to focus when there are so many competing priorities and new ones introduced regularly.

A typical day at BeOne is no work life balance and zero recognition of doing a good job.  Getting a promotion is nearly impossible.  If you want growth, you have to leave the company.  The equity we used to get has been cut so deep, it is almost nonexistent.  Bonuses are a joke now.  They do not value your time and want you to work and not reward.  I would avoid this place.  Layoffs and firings happen daily here. 

Company operates following a copy-cat model, no imagination, basically mimics activities of big pharmaceutical companies.  Little cooperation between divisions in the organization.  CEO is skilled at motivating new employees but management does not actually care or support them.  I have been on calls where employees were instructed to meet such extreme deadlines they were brought to tears.  Look elsewhere for employment.

Remote location was an added plus. Pay was fair.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is a high rate of turnover, so it can be challenging to find the people who worked on earlier versions. There is a lack of very experienced people.

Weird combination of Chinese and American sensibilities.

Great ideas of working in a collaborative environment.

My department was Silo’d. People were afraid to say the wrong thing without possibly being retaliated against.

Work with groups and assigned tasks as needed.

BeOne has a very entrepreneurial culture which empowers me to do my best, try new ideas and be creative.  I find my team and cross-functional partners to be collaborative and helpful.  It can be long hours - like all biopharma jobs - but the work is rewarding.

As a new employee, I have to say that I am quite impressed with the management team and overall work culture at BeOne Medicines.  I have been warmly welcomed by my team and colleagues, and I look forward to contributing to BeOne's mission of expanding access to the highest quality therapies to more people around the world.
