This organization cares NOTHING about their clinical staff. Leadership is apathetic, detached, and unconcerned about the high risk environment that clinical staff are forced to work in day after day. Critical staffing shortages precede the pandemic and continue to this day. Leadership is completely oblivious to reasons behind the lack of retention. It is abundantly clear to most staff that administrators and leaders care nothing about their hard-working clinical staff. One RN cares for 24, 25, 26, 27, or 28 patients nearly every single day. And despite being compensated bonus pay for such poor nurse-to-patient ratios, if you ask, RN's would rather have had the second nurse. And if all that were not enough, they recently took away those bonus's for high-risk staffing ratios. Just another slap in the face by an organization that never, ever cared about its staff. And most sadly, in the end it is the patients who lose the most as a result of all this chronic understaffing and the inherent apathy of this organization and its leaders. If you care anything about your patients and value your Nursing License, stay far, far away!!!

I actually wake up very excited to go to work now. I’ve been a nurse for over 30 years. I’ve lived thru many nursing shortages and this crisis is the worst I’ve ever seen it. Belmont does its best to give you the support you need from beginning to end even in this horrible nursing crisis. I’ve work on every unit in this hospital and can say the staff has been supportive, warm and inviting. We work together as a team and that means the most to me. We have each others back and administration supports their patients and staff. I love the people we service and they receive good care here. The doctors are great to work with and they really show they care. The Nurses and Techs are well trained and great resources if you are the new kid on the block like me. It seems to me that Belmont goes for Nurses that are well seasoned. Everyone is supportive. Don’t believe the horror stories (from people who were probably let go for what ever reason). If you come here and you are a team player and own your job you won’t have a problem, it will be a great place for you to work too. 

The interview was great and all the right things were said by the manager, but when you walk out please know that the entire business office will know what the director and manager think of you. The manager is unprofessional, moody and have no structure on how to manage she’s too busy to assist with questions and NO TRAINING, basically have to figure out yourself. The business office director is unprofessional (walks around either stomping or no shoes on) very ignorant, tries to intimidate you with her position and befriends employees with gossip. With the manager and director they make everything personal and not business especially if your not a brown noser. HR is just as bad because you can go to them with your concerns but whatever you talk to them about isn’t confidential even if you don’t take further action. This was a very hostile environment. Please avoid these people by any means their miserable and misery loves company.

The only thing about this place if your willing to sell your soul to the devil to make the money by all means good luck.

The pay is ok they have plenty of overtime cause people quit every other day. Benefits is the worst

In general, managers at Belmont Behavioral Hospital is very poor i hope when they done with the new building the weed out the bad seeds.

Overall
My experience working at Belmont Behavioral Hospital  lack of respect for each other is like an adult high school you have older worker trying to hang with the young people. And don't forget awhole lot of sleeping with one another.

I personally like Belmont.  Is it some place I would stay for long-term? No, because for me, acute psych can be emotionally and physically draining having to deal with it each and everyday. Am I proud to work there? The answeris a resounding, yes! The building is aesthetically beautiful, I enjoy my team and the direction of our current leadership.  Like many healthcare organizations, it definitely has its ebbs and flows of maintaining adequate staffing. This is partly due to the lastest culture change initiative of going back to the basics to help improve quality measures of care. With it comes the influx of terminating and hiring employees. So, if you are considering coming in board be sure to keep in mind you will need to be an agent of change in order to weather the storm of employee retention and continual training. 

I would not recommend anyone to work here  . Unless your applying to be a PRN staff or a nurse . The management at this place is horrible . Working at Belmont was one of the worst jobs I’ve ever had. Management never acknowledge their employees , they just use there employees as an excuse for why this hospital has a very high turnover rate. Their supervisors and management are the reason this company is considered one of the worst workplaces and treatment facility for someone to receive the proper help and treatment that they need. They do not provide the  proper hygiene care for their patients that live at this place for 1-2 years. The children and adolescents units are very unsanitary . Nothing is never cleaned , especially there bedrooms and bathrooms . Mice are always in the kids beds at night .I always feel bad for the patients at this place.

Management is poor.  The Director is very childish and creates a divided work atmosphere.  I've seen more people get fired because someone didn't like them than for their work ethic.  No one can say or do anything about it.  It's who you know and who you kiss butt to that helps you, other than that forget it.  They don't want to pay you well unless you know someone or brown nose to get a good position.  It's a very grade school catty atmosphere in the billing department. And HR will NOT help you if you have an issue they just tell the management exactly what you said and then you have to worry about retaliation.  Management will let you know that they are aware you filed a complaint.

No support from supervisors, managers - you are on your own. Minimal amount of training; you have to figure things out on your own - not safe, not practical when dealing with patients. Low morale, call outs constantly, which puts pressure on the people who do show up! Lots of favoritism, if you're not part of the clique, you are on the outs! Unprofessional, bullying behavior by other floor staff, manager(s); very disappointing, disheartening to the point of not wanting to show up for work. You have to be extremely tough to work here, because it is a brutal (and toxic) place to work. You better have a thick skin....

Flexible work schedule for staff, fairly easy work tasks 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I’ve never worked at any facility where the staff were so unwilling to help, lazy on top of leadership being so unsupportive and biased.   Leadership, nurses and social workers will watch techs struggle on the floor as they sit on their phones. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Staff are constantly talking about eachother and stirring up drama. Toxic work environment. Everyone is coincidentally cousins or related to someone, and there’s always biased.

I have never worked in such a toxic environment , almost 30 people either resigned or were terminated from one department due to poor management, they built a brand new hospital but the same people are running it, this company has horrible benefits and the pay isn't competitive. Management engaged in talking negatively about staff with other staff members. one department wants you to have a Masters however one of the members of leadership in said department doesn't have one.  The hardest part of the job is dealing with unprofessional and petty co workers. The most enjoyable is clocking out to go home.
