What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
In person monthly meetings, EMR takes forever to complete notes, not a lot of listening on the leadership side. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Old school, friendly but I was afraid to criticize and suggest improvements because it seemed that everyone already knew it all.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You are supposed to be able to build your schedule, however, at other home, health companies, you are able to just not schedule patience for a day. This company wants to have you tell them when you’re not working/take the day off- even if you are still meeting your quote of patients per week.

Berkley Home Health is one of the best agencies I have worked for and I have worked for 5 other companies. The management is great and manager genuinely cares about his team. 

Home Health is not the easiest career choice but once you get a hang of it, you realize how much impact you make in persons homes. 

Our team works hard, some days are long but I have the flexibility to drop off my kids before seeing patients and pick them up after. Charing is not the easiest but its not any easier in the hospital.

I think it takes 3 months to really learn the job and once you have it you are all set. Meetings are 2 x month and the charting is remote on a tablet so that is convenient.

After working for 3 years in the corporate home health world,  I decided to try the "dark side" as my former boss would call it. A private, family-owned company. Well, after 11 months, I am glad that I found a place where I can use my true skills. From working with ortho, med surge and restorative patients, I can make an impact bedside. I can be a therapist. 
Berkley is a great company with a very proactive owner and leadership team that offers the best possible support to me and my teammates. Genuinely a great place to work. The team is supportive from the supervisors to my teammates.

They only allow the OT’s to 3 visits per patient. Physical Therapist have many more visits granted to them patients for therapy. OT’s are unable  to make money that way. Had to leave because that could not maintain a basic lifestyle. I have over 10 years of experience. Employees without raises for years . Selfish. Company makes money you don’t!! 

Medicare Home Health is an interesting place. It is a great way to help so many homebound patients! I am so glad to be part of an organization that simply cares. It is so hard to find an employer that genuinely cares for their staff as well as the community.

Really great people at all levels of the company it is like joining a family and everyone is supportive of each other and has a great time together although as with any family there are rough patches, have to be in this 2018 Medicare / Medicaid world. 

Really like the small employer feel where people know each other and your family!

I worked at Berkley over a year and rarely reached full time status with my caseload. The office frequently hired PTs despite staff being low with caseload and requesting more visits/patients from the office to reach full time status. As the previous PT review stated, I was assured at my interview that I would never have an issue reaching full time status and would even be able to see up to 40 visits a week. Also, there was minimal communication or documentation from the office if there were any changes to patient status, plan of care, or if a patient was admitted or not.
