Best Line Equipment

My work day is was pretty simple.  I just had to do the work that was there to do.  The work was manual labor but very therapeutic.  I could simply focus on my work and see the results of my labor.  In the Paint Shop we see our work and the rapid change of the process.  The equipment enters the shop looking very bad and leave the shop looking brand new.  The process is hard and is labor intensive, but the progress is radical.  I learned the painting trade at Best Line.  It brought my career to a new level as a tradesman.  Even though I do not possess any certifications outside the company training program I have established myself as a leading painter in the company.  The management was okay to work for.  Some decisions did not make sense to the workers and there was little to no communication pertaining to the reasons the decisions were made.  The co-workers made the difference at Best Line.  The relationships developed in this company have been lasting and impactful. The hardest part of the job was meeting the deadlines.  Sometimes it seemed like the deadlines were unrealistic, but we tried our best to meet the needs of the customer.  I enjoyed my co-workers the most at this job.  The work does not really matter if the co-workers get along well.

Getting to operate different machinery

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of knowledgeable management and salespeople and last minute stuff all the time that just has to be done now but then customers will tell you they didn't need yet for a day or two.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Will want you to take unpaid leave when slow over winter months but expect a person to want to live there when busy because they can't manage scheduling.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
One day may be great and then wham tomorrow they act like a chicken with its head cut off.

Pay and benefits where good. No time for anything in your personal life. A lot of miss communication with in the company and between service writers and customers( i.e promise made to customer you would be there at a certain day or time and was not communicated to tech). A lot of long days and nights on the road. You are able to enhance your knowledge with training that’s readily available ( but never time to be able to get to it with the long hours). On call is a very fair schedule. A lot of favoritism, there is room for advancement in your career if you know the rite people. Vacation time is fair in the beginning, once out of time that’s it so don’t get sick or have family emergency. 

Wasted over 10 years here they cut hourly employees to 32 hour per week and cut salary employees 20% right before the holidays. They lie and use employees here claiming they’re not making money and have to cut but they continue to be busy. They say employees are using to many paper towels and removed pretty much everything from the medicine cabinet, constantly petty about spending money. Good luck getting anything you need to perform your job tool wise. They run nothing but wore out junk and patch it together like they operate on a shoe string. They say the do raises and bonuses but been 2 years without one.

A complete joke of middle management, people in management positions that have no business being managers. Most of their middle management would have a hard time operating a paper route,, let alone managing people! If you kiss butt then you will prosper at bestline. Upper management that lie through their teeth about how much they care about every one of their employees..  Yeah they care so much they have laid off (fired) people during this pandemic.. That in itself should be a red flag to anyone contemplating working for this company!!

People are friendly, great benefits and perks but that’s where the good ends and bad begins. Parts is difficult to work with and very low inventory and long time getting supplies for jobs. Management is friendly but very seldom come through on whats promised, shop setting is difficult, very cramped and crowded, often times working outside, basic shop tools and specialty tools are hard to come by.

The most enjoyable parts of the job are the co-workers and customers.  A very fast paced environment with unlimited opportunities for personal and professional growth.  Competitive pay and excellent benefits.  A 40 year old company with many employees who have been here for greater than 20 years.  Many of them started in entry level jobs and worked their way up to Management and even Senior Leadership positions.  In a typical day, you can expect to work hard, but you can also expect to be recognized and rewarded for your hard work!

In a typical day I start out with online sales and straightening the show room. I receive all shipments for the day and displace them to their proper destination, place orders for the day and ship out any outgoing items. Help customers with their requests along with getting any parts/accessories for internal jobs. Help my parts manager tackle multiple tasks. Work with salesman to get their customers what they need. The most enjoyable part of my job is helping customers and making them feel confident in the company.

Promise you amount of money won't pay you to that amount of money.

Stress long hours won't train you to job you are hired to do. Won't train you.

No environment friendly dirt oily place to work mice rats and roaches

Answering phone  making appointments submit warranty get info for corporate  to run credit on customer

It was probably my most favorite place to work. I went in to the job knowing nothing about heavy equipment and they took the time to teach me a lot about it. The atmosphere is very light. Management of Best Line is very energetic and they try to make sure everyone stays positive and smiling. The hardest part for me was not knowing anything about the equipment, but with the great team and management they took the time to invest in me to make sure I could understand everything I needed to know.
