Typical day of work usually starts with getting emails of assignments that need to be done; clients that need to be assessed, home heatlh aides that need to be supervised/orientated, new care plans, medication administrations, or clients that need general nursing care management assessments (skin checks, safety checks, etc). 

I have learned that communication is a huge part in the nursing and homecare field. I need to be able to assess my clients and their environments, complete my paper work, and also relay all of my information in a timely manner back to the nursing care manager in the office. Sometimes things need to be done urgently and I will need to coordinate with people in the office and also with clients personal care physicians as well. 

Best of Care Inc has an excellent set of employees. The management team is kind and approachable, and the health aides are compasionate and patient with all of our clients and other employees. 

The hardest part of my job is all of the travelling and commute it requires and communication issues. Sometimes the office forgets to relay to clients/home health aides the days that the RN will be coming to assess the client or aides.

The most enjoyable part of my job are the clientele. I have met the most amazing, kind hearted, elderly people. The amount of times I am told that I make a difference reassures me that I am in the right profession.

This is the dream job  for a PCA . The support you receive from  schedulers is impeccable. If you see something on your client and you mention it to your scheduler they immediately contact case managers or family members . They  address the situation immediately. They don’t go about their day without reaching out to the appropriate parties who are involved with the client. I have worked with several different agencies throughout my time and I can’t even begin to explain how many times when I had brought something up to a scheduler attention about a situation in reference to a client and it was just ignored. 

With this company, there’s no excuses. Best Of Care knows how important it is to get it addressed
 ASAP. 
The best part is that if you want to pick up a shift to make extra money, they always have something available or you can just call in and ask. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great staff! Plenty of work for our hha, pc, and homemakers. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not enough RN work on cape. Love the company but off season not enough work!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
 The company truly wants the Best of care for its patients and for its employees.  Communication is excellent between staff and supervisors.  I’ve worked in home care before, this is the best!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Staff orientation, care plan updates, medicine adminstration. Paperwork to prepare for next day. Great staff!

I like work for Best Of care because it’s a good place to work, the treats you very Good.if you work with the client something happen or family clients complain about you the call you very nice to talk to you the Explained to you if the family client tell you something to doo for the client do it don’t said no or something else for me the never complain about me I fo my job good anyway Best Of care is a good place to people wor believe me very good place that’s all I know for best of care etc thanks 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I can’t think of much good about it other than meeting people and helping them is nice.

lack of hours available, schedulers who mess up your schedule.

no apppreciation of who you are or what you do.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
4-6 people, with needs that range from simple to difficult.

They don’t communicate with employees or clients. They say there’s a lot of work but never give you more hours when you ask for them only certain employees get them ( favorites) it’s home care so hours are never guaranteed so makes it impossible to earn PTO they don’t pay time n half for holidays. Overall this worse company ever worked for. They rather hire new people and pay less then to give old employees more work when asking for more hours. 

Very unprofessional. One good boss in the office. They dont care about their clients or employees. Only about the money. No hours. They continue to hire more and more people giving away current employees hours. Want u to drive far for almost nothing. They dont take the blame for anything even if it's their fault. Doesnt follow protocol

Pros are that it's a very flexible job and I'm able to make my own schedule. Cons are that for the amount of work we do, we should be paid more. Not enough drive time in between clients as well. I don't even have time to use the bathroom in between clients without being late for the next one. Overall, I like the job, but there could be a few things they could change.

Disorganized management. No raises and management are all about the money for themselves. Pay is very low for all the work that you do. No gas milage or family work balance.

Working with Best of Care Inc., offered me an insight on working with hospice patients. Taking care of these patients have helped me develop compassion which is an essential part of nursing. The staff was friendly and helpful which made the job a bit easier to deal with.
