Most of BCI's problems can be traced to the vendor/client relationship and cronyism. However, this seems fairly typical of contract vendors working inside large, corporate client locations.  BCI is beholden to agreed upon rates with their clients, so pay is low for most.  If you take a job with BCI, it is just a job.  If you're there longer than a couple of years with no merit increase and no other career development, you need to get out. The only career development you will get is being offered a position that might be pushing the limits of your abilities, if management is desperate or lazy.  PTO is below most other companies.  Raises are pathetic.  "Annual" reviews are NEVER on time.

The company is Chinese, but at the client location we rarely if ever saw people from Beijing.  All of my interactions with them over the years have been positive. After dealing with some of their leads and PM's in Beijing/Wuhan over the years, I liked many individuals immensely.  

All that being said, there are a lot of good people at BCI and you won't have a problem with most.  At the end of the day, it's just a job and you should always be looking for a new one.

Beyondsoft has proven to me on numerous occasions that employees are not valued as people, but as assets. The recruiting process was stressful, the recruiter was demanding and would pressure me to commit to things over the phone without seeing them first in writing. I was initially offered $15/hr for a Software Development Engineering role in Redmond, WA. Anyone who knows anything about that area knows that is hardly a livable wage, and not at all competitive for a software developer. I was able to negotiate, thankfully, but it's clear their goal is to pay you as little as possible, and contract you out at more than double what you are being paid. The smaller your salary, the higher their profit margin. Beyondsoft management was aloof during my contracted period, and provided almost no training. If I had any other choice I would have taken it, and that is what I'd recommend to you.

These people are visionless, soul-less, humorless, despicable corporate tools. Pure swine. The management has no filial attachment to its hapless employees, whatsoever. Managers neither praise team members for a job well-done, nor back them up in times of bizarre client meltdowns. The benefits are truly the worst in the business. Imagine having to accrue both vacation time and sick time from ZERO on day 1. There are so many great Silicon Beach companies clamoring for talent--don't even bother with these fools. I SO wish Indeed would let me name names, because there are a number of degenerate troglodytes at this pitiful company who deserve public shame within our industry.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It's repetitive at times but overall you get a bit of time to yourself. 
Lots of benefits too and a place to work out during lunch break.
It is an amicable work environment, just don't expect to be paid much more than minimum wage. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
How many tests that have to be run at a time during crunch times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Overall it's good. Mainly people with the same tastes in games, movies, activities, etc.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get in at 8am and boot up the computers to run the printers, work until you want to take a lunch break, eat, go back to work, and leave at 4:30pm.

You will learn some valuable skills and you’ll work with some amazing people, but you will not be given a livable wage. By the time you do get a new title and promotion, minimum wage will go up and the new hires that you manage will be making only $1.50/hr less than you. That minuscule difference in pay is not worth the energy and skill set it takes to affectively train, lead, and manage an entire crew and their many tests/units. Not to mention the ever-changing testing procedures that engineers make on a whim without using critical thinking when it comes to practicality. Taking a meeting to negotiate salary is out of the question. Upper management has “don’t rock the boat” mentality even if that sacrifices efficiency. 

Better negotiate a good salary up front, because that's about what you'll be making 5 years from now too, as your benefits slowly erode and inflation nibbles at your paycheck. 10 days PTO in first year. Not bad, right? Oh wait, also 10 days PTO in thirtieth year. Dead-end jobs seem to be the norm here, and the client company treats long-term contractors like scabs. There is zero interest in training new hires and zero help with career-building. If you're single and young, this could be a decent stepping stone for you, since they do pay most of your individual health insurance premium. Wouldn't recommend getting too comfortable though.

Being hourly with the company I'm contracting for being very strict about overtime means there's an excellent work/life balance.  You work your 40 hours a week and that's it.  Management is very flexible on those hours, too.  If I want to leave early one day, I can work extra on other days if I don't want to use PTO.

Which is something you might want to do since you get very little PTO and the wages are significantly under market rate so you'll be trying to squeeze every dollar you can.

Middle management is lenient and pretty hands-off unless you give them a reason not to be.  As long as the company you contract for is happy, your supervisors and managers will be happy.

The Good:
Relaxed atmosphere. If you show up and do a good job, they don't nitpick about showing up at an exact time or taking an extra 5 minute break. 
Flexible. You can pretty much take as much time off as you want (although Paid Time Off is limited). Don't have to worry about getting approval for Dr visits or other personal appointments.
The Bad:
No raises. If you want more money, they need to bill the client more and their client is always trying to reduce what they pay or stay flat.
On top of that, their client is always requiring unpaid furloughs (unless you have the PTO to cover it).
Usually between 2 weeks to 3 months of the year, expect to be on furlough/unemployment.
Also, their benefits/insurance is awful.

Overall, working internally in the corporate office is tolerable. The political landscape changes month-to-month as the organizational structure changes. Benefits aren't great (aside from the possibility to work from home and free snacks/coffee). Company has an obvious preference to hire Chinese employees in the US, different business divisions seem to be struggling across the country, and management lacks a clear vision about future. Turnover is noticeable, and the general office seems barely content.

The position has gotten better over time as new management taken place. Less stressful than before due to past management. However, the same drawbacks exist still.

There is no actual training or a path to promotion to certain positions. There is also a problem with people having gaps of information missing and work responsibility not distributed evenly. Majority of the time is to manage meetings and filling out forms for other teams to complete task. Most of your time is spent doing as priority over learning and troubleshooting issues.
