Bicycle Health

When I began working at bicycle health it was very patient centered. We were all about compassion empathy and helping people even if we weren’t the right fit. As of late, a new manager has come in and we shifted more towards sales than being patient centered. The people at bicycle health are, for the most part, very nice and easy to get along with. You are supported by your teammates, and you get to work cohesively between different departments no matter where you are. I just feel like we’ve lost a giant piece of the personal aspect of this type of work. It has become a very stressful work environment, we have quotas that we have to meet, and this causes us to move to fast with someone who is struggling with addiction. I’m not saying it’s a bad place to work, but it’s definitely made a turn that isn’t in line with my values. The salary for this kind of work is also pretty low. It takes a special type of person to talk to people struggling with addiction, and it’s pretty draining, but I love to do it. This is a startup, They pay the premium on your health insurance but there is no 401b, disability, Life insurance  and the health insurance is not very good. I have been supported by the higher ups for the most part.. You basically have to go in and find out who you can trust, keep your nose to the ground and work hard. I believe the CEO and founder of this company has a giant heart and created this company for the right reasons! We also do have plenty of people that support us in our role, there’s just been a shift and it’s going to cause disappointment  amongst employees and patients alike. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
HORRIBLE COMPANY! They do NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES!! They will fire an employee for no reason at all or for a simple mistake. If you dare to question the senior manager she will make sure you get fired. HORRIBLE COMPANY!  it used to be a great company, but not anymore! BEWARE!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Knowing you can get fired at any moment 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful. Petty. Very petty!! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
There is a big workload but it can be accomplished if you work hard. But you will not get any positive feedback when you are working as hard as you can.

Pros: Remote work, sense of purpose in the population you are serving, coworkers are generally easy to get along with, company provides job-related equipment

Cons: Heavier emphasis on productivity and generating revenue over quality of patient care delivered, incentive comp plan for providers leans heavy on burnout-level productivity performance rather than sustainability for long term retention/ personal growth and job satisfaction, pay not competitive within the industry, lack of support in case management and patient/family-centered resources, complacency within leadership team

Start up company doesn't provide regular raises, or room for advancement. Has had multiple lay offs and just started unionizing as a young company because of how poorly they treat staff. Between lay offs employees are fired for caring too much or simply because toxic leadership feels like it. BH provides no work autonomy and is constantly looking for new ways to automate every employees work to further reduce autonomy.

Since working for this company overall it’s been great
All remote and schedules are given as is
Team is helpful, managers as well
Even though there is a lot of changes within short amount of times, the work overall is straight forward on what you need to do on your day to day.
It can be tidiness with the amount of changes and updates and new work flows also information overload but resources are always available when you need to go back and reference a task 

The managers are one you can’t go to another manager if you are having issues with the other. YOU WILL GET FIRED IF YOU DON’T MEET THE QUOTA even though they say it’s quality over quantity.  Very microManaged . Managers just read a paper to you and lacks empathy. They are not who they say they are. It sounds too good to be true in the beginning. Just know when they hire people someone is about to get fired. 

Recruiting experience was stressful and not worth it. They will keep asking the same questions until they hear the answer they need and want. The level of micromanagent is evident. They will not pay more than 120 - 130k, with 10% quarterly bonus if you meet quota. And must be 5x8hr shifts. With one every weekend. 

One of the best companies I've worked for.  Leadership cares and is committed.  The mission of the company is inspiring and central to the company operations.  Bicycle Health is a startup so they are growing, changing and refining processes.  Compensation and benefits are average but have gotten better over the past 3 years. 

Great pay, great culture, great support. Although it is remote you feel like you are part of a team. Everyone is here to help one another and all genuinely care for patients. Working here is a breath of fresh air.

They only offer basic health, vision, dental, & 401K. No Life, STD, or LTD, and they do not pay you for your PTO if you leave the company. Even my medical provider mentioned my benefits suck. The plan does not pay well and I always have a balance.
