What is the best part of working at the company?

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No work life balance, forced to take packages even when you know you haven’t got the staff to complete them.
Being on call constantly to support untrained staff as they couldn’t complete on their own. Workload not split evenly. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
To start with it was okay and fun but turned very toxic and blame culture, if you have opinion you will always get shot down, higher management do not communicate to each other and contradict themselves daily. Very unhappy work team high turnover of office staff. Made to feel guilty when wanting to leave work on time. They didn’t have the same attention for all types of staff members. You also got heavier work loads if you do a good job to mop up less productive staff members as it’s easier to give to the people that can do it most efficiently make the workload unfair! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Dealing with oncall handover, enquiry’s, care team management, roster changes, capacity checks, working with local authorities, dealing with daily emergencies and sickness, support with payroll and expenses. Data entry. Completing daily alerts and action points. Speaking to clients NOK and family to make sure clients are getting great care.  

I have worked with Bluebird Care, Waltham Forest for 2 years & have progressed through the company during this time. I started as a Care Assistant to Lead Care Assistant and Care Supervisor. 

This company has offered me great learning opportunity, supporting me through the QCF level 3 and now i am studying the level 5. Also offering me flexible working hours to enable a good work/life balance.

I work closely with my colleagues & everyone works really hard bringing their wealth of experience to the table. I feel valued as a member of staff.

I love the variety my job offers as no two days are the same. I love meeting new customers & enabling new carers settle into their job. 

I am confident that we provide a high standard of care and that there are measures in place to make sure this is checked and continuously improved. Day to day saw different clients in their own homes, some lovely, others not so much. As a non driver, I was being provided unstable work over split shift patterns when I had been told on joining this wouldn't be the case. Had been told by managemeng theyd work to build me a route that gave me hours and ensured i wouldnt have to travel far from public transport. 

For a while I was sent to clients it was difficult for me to get to via public transport. I'd be given shifts with  at times mulitple hours gaps between clients, only to be told I wouldn't be paid despite being unable to have a work life balance. On occasion I'd have an hours gap between clients and not be paid as management argued I could go home even though travel time alone would constitute the hours gap. Ultimately left due to unstable work hours, unstable pay and growing issues with management.

I worked here for a few months at the start of the pandemic. Although it was different to what would normally happen, the management team were inclusive and helpful, offering help and always extra hours. The hours could sometimes be odd and out of hour s that one wouldn’t normally work, but the nature of the job was great. You can choose which days to work as it is 0 hours. Would be a great job for someone with children who needs flexible hours. Need to have a car with good fuel efficiency as you do a lot of driving, must also be confident with driving in areas you haven’t been to before and have a generally good sense of direction to find the residents houses. Overall a good place to work if you are looking for Flexible hours but a rewarding and interesting job role.

The hardest part of the job is dealing with the office, and the franchise owner.
They chang things to suit themselves as they go along,  
Told at the interview, job details, and a salary you will never get.  
Always messing about with carers pay, what they have worked hard for.  
Typical day at work, rushing around like a lunatic, not getting no where near enough travelling time from client to client. overloading the rota, dont get regular clients, or if you do for a week or two, then they move you to 0ther clients/areas.  if you want a zero hour contract, this is the place to get a job, they dont care about their carers, or the clients

I thoroughly enjoy working at Bluebird Care, I have been here for 7 years and have very successfully navigated the career pathway to become a Supervisor.  I began working at Bluebird Care as I was a new mother with a 1 year old baby and the flexibility of the working shifts and hours meant that I could save on my childcare costs.  Over time I progressed to become a Mentor of new carers and then to a Supervisor.  The management are very supportive and strive to help us achieve our goals and dreams within the company.  The hardest part of the job is when a long standing customer dies, this is very difficult as we have often built relationships and friendships with them.

I worked here for over 6 months. In that time I spent 12hr days out the house. I regularly covered over 100 miles a day! The distance between each call was often over 40 miles! Also whenever I asked the office to reduce my hours or told them i wasn't happy with the miles they often promised they would sort it but never did. On four occasions my pay was wrong and trying to get it sorted was near on impossible. The administrator was often rude on the phone and spoke down to me. I did not feel valued. The manager does not care for the staff he only cares about making more money off packages.
If you want a job guaranteed to cause anxiety, insomnia and depression this is the place for you!

Franchise taken over later part of last year. New management treated existing staff appallingly - No consideration for existing carers, care packages or customer preferences. Lack of understanding for single parents who couldn't commit to evenings and/or working every weekend. Most of the team and managers I worked with for over a year left within 3 months of takeover. Reference requests have been either ignored or extremely slow to process which has held up the process of employment elsewhere.

Absolutely loved my job here, the customers were all lovely and I felt very fulfilled in my job. This company really look after their customers and treat them with the respect they deserve. 

Work life balance was awful, constantly being asked to do extra shifts and when I refused was guilted into shifts. Have even been asked on multiple occasions to leave my children at the office to complete a shift because they were desperate.

 I felt supported by my manager, they were always there for a chat if I need them. They were very encouraging with my progression within the company.
