Children from all types of walks of life!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Some of the adults, some want to be controlling, a humor of having a power trip over staff 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
 The kids are what make everyone’s job seem so  wonderful, but some staff members can be difficult to work with 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When with the children it’s therapeutic, the adults is like being again in high school

Overall a nice place to work but staffing is so rough. LTC you can have upwards of 12 patients all advanced airway. The hospital side is more manageable but you will not be met with help when you have a peer issue or parent issue. Profit is the bottom line. Nurses aren’t appreciated. No time off paid out. No bonus. No raise besides “inflation” which is less than inflation post covid. Bottom line you have to love it or you won’t last through the politics.

Working with children very fulfilling 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
None.  No stress.   Enjoyed my time at the hospital.   Sing, happy children

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Happy.   I was a volunteer at Blythedale.   It was very interesting working with disabled children

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
What time volunteer?   I was working out three mornings per week

This is a sub-acute to rehabilitation hospital just outside New York City.  I learned so much about feeding kids with complex oral motor patterns and structures as well as compromised breathing.  

This hospital is a CARF certified pedicatric brain injury clinic.  Rare! 

Speech works in concert with OT, PT, and PM&R from admission to discharge.  A great experience.

BCH is an amazing children's hospital that offers so many services to children and family. It gives OTs the opportunity to work in an inpatient setting, day hospital setting, and outsource to local public schools. There is always a new opportunity to learn something from the other clinical professionals as well as from each child. Working at Blythedale is an absolutely amazing experience.

I worked with chronically ill children and learned so much through this experience.  The rehabilitation setting was wonderful for these sick children and they offered many services for them such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing care, and even had a school that the children could graduate from.  The staff was supportive and the doctors cared.

Management is disconnected.. the hospital has changed so much.. they target certain people and pick and choose who to write up. It seems when admin makes a mistake they call it a learning experience, their social media sites only show what they want you to see and nursing gets absolutely no recognition.

A typical day at work was very normal and well organized. Being part of the team was very helpful for me because I learned a lot from the others with more experience. The workplace culture is the best quality of Blythedale Hospital.
I would strongly recommend everyone to work for Blythedale Children's Hospital.

Blythedale is a special place where children with special needs can receive specialized advanced and innovative care. Working there is a great experience since the leadership create an environment where employees can contribute to the process of continuous improvement, and leaders care about the employees. It is a small organization with a large impact .

Registering children with appointments or walking in for the first time, helping them settle in and get comfortable while they wait to be called. scheduled appointments to follow up with the doctors, made medical bands for the patients to be identified. the environment was very fun. The co workers always worked as a team.
