What is the best part of working at the company?
When I first started in 2024, it felt like an exciting opportunity and a fresh environment, and I believed I was prepared for the challenges that came with it. The property itself is visually appealing, though the amenities are average considering the overall cost of rent. While the marketing team presents the community very well through imagery and language, the in-person experience can sometimes feel inconsistent with those expectations.

One of the biggest challenges I observed was the high turnover rate, particularly among managers, which created a lack of consistency in leadership and team collaboration. There appeared to be limited managerial support and structured training for assistant managers, resulting in a “learn as you go” environment with little empowerment to make independent decisions.

Additionally, employees who voiced concerns professionally often felt unheard or experienced unfair treatment afterward. There also appeared to be issues related to favoritism in promotions and workplace respect, which negatively impacted morale. While the work itself was manageable, constant understaffing due to turnover created unnecessary pressure on employees.

Overall, the experience lacked the importance of working in an environment where employees feel supported, respected, and valued for their contributions and work ethic.

The high turnover rate frequently resulted in understaffing, which created additional stress by requiring employees to manage multiple responsibilities and cover several roles at once. Despite these increased demands, there was often criticism rather than support, which made the work environment challenging and impacted overall morale.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The workplace culture has shifted from being focused and task-driven to one that includes increased workplace chatter, which at times can be distracting and contribute to a less professional environment. This change has impacted overall focus and productivity, and in some instances has created tension within the work setting.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involves performing the responsibilities of a leasing agent, assistant property manager, and maintenance support all at once. This includes handling leasing inquiries and tours, assisting residents with requests and concerns, managing administrative and property operations, and addressing basic maintenance issues as needed. The role often requires multitasking across multiple functions throughout the day due to staffing limitations.

Bozzuto is a great company that has grown and gained an amazing reputation in the property management industry.

Although it is a great company, it seems as though  they have become more concerned with pleasing ownership companies than taking care of their employees (at least that is how it feels). 

In a price driven market where rents are skyrocketing and most people can't afford, it's difficult and close to impossible to reach or exceed sales goals. 

Working weekends is a requirement which is very common for the industry but it still doesn't make it fun or convenient, especially if you have a family with children. 

Because of how fast-paced the industry is, things are changing every day which means you have to be in constant communication with your team for the property to run smoothly. This also means that you really never get a day off.

Sales and marketing associates and assistant property managers are underpaid for the workload they take on a daily basis. Bozzuto's answer to this concern is that you can make it up with bonuses for leases but that doesn't get you very much either if you're sharing leases with 3-4 other leasing agents, an assistant manager and a property manager.

Also - don't be fooled by the marketing description of the sales and marketing role because the only marketing experience you'll get is posting on social media. Who doesn't know how to post on social media by 2018? This is not a true skill that can help you progress in the company or any other marketing position. They also seem to hire interns in the corporate marketing department before they consider other sales and marketing associates who have been applying to the department for years.

If your goal is to stay in property management, this company is amazing and they are the best of the best in this industry! If you're looking to excel in other aspects such as marketing, training, etc. look elsewhere.

My experience working at Bozzuto was largely negative, despite some positive aspects of working with my immediate maintenance team. The work environment was generally fast-paced, and I received solid training and support from my senior tech. However, a major issue I encountered was a lack of communication between the office and maintenance teams. When problems arose, I was often left blindsided, especially when issues weren’t communicated to my immediate supervisor. On several occasions, I was written up for minor, irrelevant issues, making it feel more like an intimidation tactic rather than a constructive feedback process.

The lack of trust and transparency with management made the situation even more difficult. For example, when I voiced concerns about delays in transferring to my new unit, I felt like my concerns were dismissed, and soon after, I received a write-up that seemed like retaliation. To make matters worse, I was told that if I were let go, I’d have to vacate my apartment, which added unnecessary stress to an already tense work situation.

Overall, Bozzuto's management seemed more focused on pushing the blame down the chain rather than fostering an environment of support and constructive feedback. For anyone considering this company, I’d recommend being cautious—especially if you value clear communication and fair treatment.

Staff is good.
Suggestions are heard but no action is taken.
Different responsibilities are constantly being added to you.
No Superintendent resides in this property.
You are pretty much handling everything that goes on within the building.
The people that live in the property are pampered not considering how much work you have. 
The company core values should be applied to the  employees too but they are instead applied to the tenants or future tenants. Dollar signs.
You don't get a lunch break to your self. You are asked to work while you eat. However the Leasing office, Maintenance employees and cleaners get a lunch break free of interupptions. The Concierge does not get that.
The staff is friendly.
The benefits are good.
The structure on how the property is runned can use improvement. 
The Concierge is the only employee alone in charge of over 500 apartments. The company should hire another Concierge but they will not. I think ownership is cheap to do that.
The company before had two Concierges.
Anything to save money.

Concierge job description is the following
Knock on the door for noise complaints or if there is someone smoking pot which I find to be dangerous. 
Tag cars in parking lots in illegal spaces.
Clean up after residents/pets.
Try to monitor every one that enters the building while logging in dry cleaning /laundry and over 40 to 70 packages.
Monitor deliveries, work orders, club room, pool, parking lot, mail room, move ins and move outs.

I do not recommend working at this location but I do recommend working at another one.

Do not send me a reply of how you will listen to me to help improve the company.  It's a song with no heart and soul behind the lyrics.

This is my second try working as a resident concierge. It did not go well.
Like any fast paced customer service position, you do multitask. That's great. You don't get bored. A typical day for my shift was answering the phones, giving prospects information about apartments when able or help them to make appointments in the website for touring apartments. Help with packages, maintenance requests, keeping the building tidy and clean.
Why did I quit then? Well, there were two complaints against me in one day. One was from a tenant who complaint about something he said I said (which it wasn't true and I was clear with management that the alledged conversation never happened). The second  complaint was about me not telling the leasing office they had an appointment waiting in the lobby.  Which was a misscomunication problem. Make your own conclusions about how much "support" I received from management and what it says about the workplace culture. Also, the onboarding was quite bumpy (lots of courses are not included as mandatory, as it should be) and I found myself continuosly not knowing where to find resources to do my job (access to sharedrives, how to proceed when tenants found locked out from their apartments, tenants violating leases, I could go on...) 
So here is my take. If you want to work in those conditions, just go for it.  You will enjoy interacting with some of the tenants, their stories, and their fur companions. To me, it was not worth it.

I would say that my experience with the community tanked my overall review of Bozzuto. I was terminated without a clear understanding of why - however I am sure that it was due to a disagreement with management the day before. But instead, I was told “you don’t have the customer service skills we are looking for” which isn’t true because in the previous meetings I was praised for the customer service I had already provided. In my short time, I felt that management did not take the time to ensure I was prepared to step into the role such as ensuring time was allotted for training to be completed especially since I worked a busy shift. When training was mentioned it was always “no” or “everyone gets the same training at Bozzuto.” Whenever I asked for assistance or questions, it always felt like I was bothering the office.

Not to mention, it was stated that I was talking negativity about the team, yet when asked what was said no one could tell me. Although I expressed my feelings about the training aspect and constantly feeling like I was being addressed for doing something unintentionally wrong , I never talked about the character of anyone.

Overall, my experience was very rocky and I feel that management didn’t even take the time to talk with me regarding any of the concerns they raised. I truly feel like because I voiced my concerns, management didn’t like it and decided to retaliate by terminating me and that’s unfair. One of the values is “Perfection” and I believe that this was the expectation for me straight out the gate which clearly made me a easy target.

I began my career with Bozzuto as a temp. Then was introduced to a part-time position as a concierge by one of the most amazing property managers I have met to this day. I worked my way from part-time concierge to full-time resident concierge and the pay was amazing for a college student. I remained a concierge, until a Sales and Marketing position opened up. The Sales and Marketing position was another step-up to grow in the demanding field. I loved working with residents and grew fond of all the marketing and events associated with keeping the residents happy in each community I worked at. My respect for Bozzuto grew with every month that passed. I loved everything about Bozzuto and even referred many of my friends and family to work for Bozzuto. Many of my colleagues have become some of my closest friends. 

At one point my goal was to become a property manager. However, as my interaction became more frequent with the regional managers, it was quite prevalent that some didn't see eye to eye with my ideas and the creativity I brought to the field. They refused to allow me to grow more than the position I held. Several attempts were made by me to apply and continue to grow. Especially, knowing I was more qualified than anyone whom applied. Yet, was not permitted to even interview for the position. That left a sour taste in my mouth and felt it was wrong to be treated in such a manner. I was dedicated to Bozzuto and passionate about my position. The last straw was drawn, when I was placed at a community without my choosing.

The Assistant Property Manager will do a lot of leasing. A typical day at work for a leasing consultant will consist of prospect management, market to increase new prospect visits, marketing for resident events, leasing, overall office and desktop organization of files, property tours, and timely responding to inquiries from prospects or current residents. As the Assistant Property Manager you will continue all of the above, but also reconcile accounts, prepare move-in or move-out documents, post checks, submit reports, assist in market surveys, concentrate on renewals, the effectiveness of leasing practices, and collecting all funds from rents to damages. 

The most useful strategy learned while working with Bozzuto comes from time management and prioritizing. Everything seems important, but prioritizing and coming up with the best solutions will save time and show commitment. Management is available to help; however the rapidly growing company has its growing pains. Not everyone will be on the same page until corrected or followed up with.  Co-workers are essential to the productivity and value of a community.  Most of my co-workers were under the age of 30 which is nice for the sense of camaraderie, but lack the of experience causes strain on the subordinate more experienced teammates.

Hardest part of the job is the constant turnover of  a leasing office. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with people that care about what they do.

Pay is terrible. Bonuses are unreliable. Monthly quotas are sometimes unrealistic- One February there were several feet of snow on the ground and a state of emergency was called which restricted people from driving. I got a write up that February because I got four leases and not 6, per my required quota. Every day off, I received at least four phone calls asking about work things, so I never truly relaxed. My co workers were catty and dishonest. I was the top leaser in the company from January to July, and I talked to my manager about making a lateral move to another property. I was advised that my performance would have to be monitored for 90 more days before the request could be considered. I lived on site and when I moved out, $900 was accidentally deducted from my check for rent. Instead of correcting the issue, it was decided that this would be a penalty for breaking my lease. EMPLOYEES DON'T HAVE LEASE BREAK PENALTIES. I received a bonus check after leaving the company. I called to ask if it was an error and advised that if I didn't hear back, I'd assume it was correct. After a week, I deposited the check. A week later, after still not hearing back, the check was reversed. And please do not make the mistake of thinking that this is an isolated incident. Lots of people at my new property management company had similar experiences with Bozzuto. Money. That's all Bozzuto cares about. So if you aren't green and made of paper, keep on looking.

Working as a leasing agent at Bozzuto provides an excellent introduction to property management and customer relations within a highly respected real estate company. Bozzuto is known for its emphasis on hospitality and creating a sense of community, and that culture definitely extends to its employees. As a leasing agent, the job involves far more than just renting apartments—it’s about building relationships with residents, understanding their needs, and ensuring they feel at home from the first tour to move-in day.
The company offers strong training programs that prepare you to handle everything from sales and marketing to problem-solving and conflict resolution. The technology systems are well-organized, and there’s a steady flow of communication between corporate and on-site teams. Management is generally supportive, encouraging employee growth and promoting from within when possible. The work environment is fast-paced but rewarding, especially when you help someone find their perfect home.
One challenge can be the workload during peak leasing seasons, where multitasking and time management are crucial. Like many customer-facing roles, it can also be demanding when dealing with difficult residents or high expectations. However, the strong team culture and professional development opportunities make it worth it. Overall, Bozzuto is a great company for anyone who values teamwork, customer service, and career growth in real estate management.
