Everyone thinks that working here the pay and benefits are amazing. I worked there just over a year.Always underpaid. I left and got a $3 pay jump and now I pay HALF of what I did there for insurance. My copay are better. 
I went to Brewster because I was in a pinch to keep my CNA I could not keep it at the CBRF i worked at and only had a few months to renew it. 
The pay sucks and they do not care about you. I asked if I could come in an hour late one day due to a family issue and was told that I had to find my own replacement. Vacation is almost always denied. They will force overtime last minute. It is a great place to work if you like to be stressed out and walked over all the time. They will put you on the schedule on your day off without asking. 
They lie to you in orientation saying that you will never work alone and that they will work around school schedules but you are always alone and they just tell you to figure it out on your own. 
The only thing it has going for it is that fact that it is a nice looking facility but behind closed door it is almost worse that facilities around the area.

Nurses should beware! Not a supportive environment for their new employees. Management doesn’t care. You only see management if they are coming to tell you what you did wrong. Benefits sound great but you can’t use your vacation time without asking for it 6 months in advance and they still deny it if you don’t find another nurse to replace you. There nursing equipment is outdated but they don’t buy new things because they don’t think it’s important to have good stethoscopes. The raises that I was told about in my interview have been stopped so whatever you are hired at for a hourly wage is what you will stay at.  I am an experienced nurse and I still had a hard timewith knowing what to do because the training is so poor. I had 6 days of training with another nurse but I spent the time working on my own because they were short staffed. There are no written policies for you to look at. They say they are paperless so you should look up the policy on the computer but there aren’t enough computers in the office to use. It’s unrealistic expectations.

It was my dream place to work because it was known throughout the state as innovative and forward thinking; always trying to improve the industry by leading the change. 

It has had struggles at times, especially throughout covid, but it is finally working on regaining its former reigning title. Now it is about building up our staff with people who want to continue making a difference in the lives around them- from residents, to the families, to the team they work with. Just like with any work environment, the people make the difference. When people show up and care about what they are doing, our people and environment thrives. 

I am so glad to be part of this organization that wants to not only do better, but lead the way. It can and will be challenging at times, but because of the people I know it’s worth it.

I have learned Brewster is a family and when you work here you will create tight bonds you won't get any other place.  Your peers are supportive and care, the villagers are sweet and care about you too.  

The most enjoyable part of the job are holiday celebrations and seeing faces light up. It really brings everyone closer. 

What you should know is: It is an employee's world right now with competitive wages through the workforce.  Just know Brewster is worth your time and kindness.  I am only leaving to benefit my family and move to a different neighborhood with a better school district. 

I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and warmth provided by the staff at Brewster Village. My experience with this facility has been nothing short of outstanding. The dedicated team consistently goes above and beyond, creating an atmosphere that feels like a home for everybody. What sets Brewster Village apart is the personalized care each resident receives. The staff takes the time to understand individual needs, creating tailored plans that enhance the overall quality of life. During my time here, I have had a multitude of opportunities for growth with the most welcoming team members. I wholeheartedly recommend Brewster Village to anyone seeking a nurturing and supportive environment. 

I think Brewster village is an excellent place to work. A typical day at work is very smooth; start with huddle, rounds, and dinner. You can take a 30 minute break whenever is seen fit. then you wash everyone up and get them to bed at their preferred time. The management is very well and easy to communicate with. I think I have learned a ton of valuable people skills from this job. The hardest part of the job is dealing with some people who are very hard headed and particular; but that is very few and far between. The most enjoyable part of my job is getting to be valuable is someone's life and it is truly rewarding to see how much they really appreciate their caregivers. 

This facility has to be the cleanest and nicest LTC I have ever worked for but.....
- CNAs that worked there for years are not getting the rate they deserve
- Management takes side and looks the other way to avoid handling CNAs with personality issues so that they can keep them
- Denies most of the OT but struggles to find somebody to work at last minute. 
- Employee appreciation is a joke, popcorn from the cafe that closes early? Can't even cater decent food for the stuff during Christmas or Christmas party for staff that is free at least. 

This facility needs to keep up with pay like other facilities are doing to be able to retain employees. 


I have only been at Brewster Village for a short amount of time, but my experiences with other staff, management, and the villagers have been fantastic. Management here at Brewster Village is very responsive and are ready to help if you reach out to them. I am constantly learning new things and finding new ways to be able to better support our staff and that is easily the most enjoyable part of the job. Being able to assist the staff with any technical issues takes those issues off their plates and allows them to focus on taking care of the villagers here at Brewster Village, ensuring they have the best care possible. 

As a CNA, my main job is to help patients with their daily activities. This includes things like bathing, dressing, eating, and moving around. I also take vital signs and report any changes in villagers condition to nurses. I am there to provide comfort, support, and a helping hand to those who need it and Brewster Village has helped me start my career as a future nurse! I am forever grateful for my time and future with them! 

Brewster Village is a Beautiful facility. The CNA to patient ratio is unmatched at 13 villagers to two CNA per house. Outstanding growth opportunities and amazing support system. If you’re looking for a rewarding career and support system come to Brewster Village. You will be welcomed with open arms and extreme gratitude. The best staff ever it feels like a family versus a place 𝑜𝒻 employment. I am filled with joy every-time I step foot into this lovely home!
