In my two years with Burnetti, P.A., my passion for law completely disappeared. I was convinced that the field wasn’t for me, which I’ve since learned is not the case. The management is the least compassionate and empathetic group of people I’ve ever worked with. It does not matter what’s going on in your life outside of the firm because you’re just a number who isn’t useful unless you’re netting an unrealistic amount of fees. They’ll burn you out and you won’t get much time to recharge due to the very minimal PTO accrual per pay period. In the middle of my employment, the Firm Admin left under bad circumstances, which changed the culture entirely. All trust from the owner was gone and we were micromanaged. The only upside is that it is the best paying law firm in the area, which is the only reason I stayed as long as I did; however, that is at the cost of your mental health. Don’t even get me started about the revolving door of employees… I would say at least 50 employees left in a two year period. Staying with this company for as long as I did for monetary gain is one of my few regrets in life. I am unbelievably happy to no longer have to work in such an unhealthy environment.

They make it seem like it’s the most amazing place to work! They offer terrible benefit packages, if you want extremely high copays with already high premiums this is the place for you! Also they miscrimanage literally everything. I was told in my interview they are very family friendly and lax when things come up. That is as far from the truth as you can possibly see! Some of the most ridiculous rules are put in place, also if you miss anytime even if you asked to take it unpaid they will automatically deduct any time missed and take your PTO. You’re also only allowed to make up time twice a month if you have dr apts or something and only 2 hrs a week 4 hrs max! Don’t you dare stay one minute late either! I love my workload but the management!? Absolutely terrible and fake. They have groups and if you happen to fall outside that social category you might as well just keep to yourself. I felt like I was in preschool with the staff rather than working as an adult.

I have learned so much while working at this firm. I started out as an assistant and worked my way up to a paralegal. I have learned everything from drafting demands to filing lawsuits and even taking cases to trial. I started here over 5 years ago and enjoy coming in everyday. If you are not sure what to do there is always someone there to help. There are some stressful days just like any other job but having a client thank you for working so hard on their case is always worth it. This firm works as a team to help their clients as best as they can and are very involved in the community and volunteering. Change is always the hardest part of any job. There are always new innovations within the legal field and technology, you have to be willing to learn and adapt to the changes to better yourself and your career. At Burnetti, P.A., they value hard work and dedication and provide you with the perfect environment for you to succeed.

The management isn’t that great. They have an awesome training program within their firm however it would be helpful if when they did their random audits, to let the person know in advance before their reviews. It’s also important that you learn how to utilize the case management program so you can keep track of your own case load so that you make sure during reviews and audits that your numbers match what management has.  Also be ready to work with 3 or more attorneys and be prepared to have poor communication between them and you. The HR can be friendly, it depends on her mood that day and how well she likes you. Over all, the primary attorney allows them to do what they want and trusts their judgement when firing employees without speaking to the employees first. 

I like that I'm not expected to take my work home with me, but I am given the opportunity to work a little overtime when it's necessary. It's nice that we are not outdated. We stay fairly current with modern systems and technology and training/training videos are released if a new task, method, or program is introduced to the firm. I like that we also have constant access to the how to videos afterward too. I think management wants everyone to succeed so they try their best to support you and allow you the opportunity to improve yourself as an employee. I think most of my co-workers are pleasant and helpful. There are occasional bad days for one reason or another but most days are good and I like that our goal as a firm is to work together to help people.

I was an intake specialist. When I first started all office calls were directed to intake even though there were two receptionists. No one in the office had voicemail, not even the attorneys. All calls had to be answered and we had to take messages. Can someone say 1990?  We spent more time answering client calls than actual intakes. The phone rang non stop. You couldn't finish with your previous intake before having to start a new one all while having to transfer a call to a paralegal. It was very stressful. I never worked at a company where management was non existent. They gave ZERO support. Paralegal never wanted to take the client calls. There was zero direction and support in the position. The company is understaffed for the work load. It was the worst job I ever had. The company has a high turnover rate. The pay was very low.

From the first day I started everyone in the frim was very nice and welcoming. The training was one of the best training I have received compared to my previous jobs.  We also have constant access to the how to videos afterward that we watch during training. A refresher is always great with tasks that we might not so on a daily. I think management wants everyone to succeed so they try their best to support you and allow you the opportunity to improve yourself. Management is also very understanding that we do have a life and family outside our jobs that sometimes needs us and will work with you & around your schedule. Almost all of my co-workers are pleasant and helpful with any questions I might have. I like that our goal as a firm is to work together to help people and I feel we very much do that on a daily basis. 

Working as a Legal Assistant at Burnetti, P.A. has been a truly rewarding experience. The firm genuinely values and appreciates its employees, which is evident in the way leadership fosters a supportive and encouraging work environment. One of the things I appreciate most is the company's commitment to promoting a healthy work-life balance, making it easier to thrive both personally and professionally.

Worked in the call center as an intake specialist and it was so bad. the people in the call center were very nice for the most part but the "management" was HORRIBLE. HR was rude as can be and were nitpicking and micromanaging literally everything you did. Don't expect to even be able to look at your phone for an emergency or do anything except stare at your computer screen or else you'll get called into their office for a meeting to help you "improve". Also be prepared for case managers/assistants to either never answer their phones or not want to talk to clients and then make you tell an already angry client that they can't talk to them right now.

This firm is a good place to work if you like dealing with a management team that is equivalent to a prison warden. It’s unbelievable how condescending the HR department is, especially to new hirers, constantly berating their employees for minor issues, I.e. being minutes late coming back from lunch, all the while you’ll physically watch management waltz in 30-40 minutes after the scheduled lunch return time. 

PTO? You mean, a bank that HR uses to fill in the gaps of your time punches. If you’re late, a doctors appointment, unexpectedly sick, etc… your PTO is not personal to you, and rather is at HR’s disposal. 

Pay is not competitive or even remotely close to the average pay for the position you’re hired for, unless you’re a fan favorite that is, you’ll be handed pocket change for a “raise.”
