Whether you are new to sales or want to dial back the hours as an AE, BAO is a great place to work. Management recognizes those willing to go the extra mile, and doing so is very handsomely rewarded with great opportunities to increase compensation without relying on promotion to do so. The company is extremely transparent in nearly everything it does, and rewards those who are capable of focusing on quality in addition to volume. 

This is not a job for everyone. You'll dial the phone 150+ times at a minimum. Those who are creative with drive and tenacity will do well here. Those who want to coast or are unwilling to put their best foot forward will write a review here claiming nepotism drives this organization. It isn't nepotism, it's personal branding. Comp packages are well aligned within the organization to promote an environment of individual contributors to a team setting, the company runs happy hours a few times per year at in-office sites, and in-office sites have a feeling of comradery that I have not experienced at any other organization.

Team management differs substantially from team to team, though I have been on two teams under two different managers, and while their styles differ, their end goal was the same - help me progress in my career and help us both make more money.

Every year, BAO impresses with new, well known clients, which directly affects our compensation in a positive way. We will continue to make more money for the same quality and volume of work simply because management has made good business decisions.

Onboarding training is the best sales training I've come across, although they could spend a bit more time on technical training for certain clients.  

All in all, a great place to get your feet wet with a relatively high earning potential for the hours required. Top performers are landing around $250k. Managers are willing to listen to your income goals and help you get there rather than expecting everyone to want to be a top performer. 

All in all an excellent place to work and I'd recommend it to anyone regardless of where they are in their career. 

In hind sight, I should have seen more of what "made" BAO but I certainly got a head full of information in a very short time. Not a single person that I encountered during my positive interview process had a recognizable demeanor after I started.
Unless you are basically naturally ruthless, prone to dishonesty - if it gets the job done, love conflicting directions from competing supervisors and feeling like a non-descript cog in someone's money machine, you should run! This place is a soul sucking penthouse cold call factory. 
This is a place where you can get positive feedback on week 4, be subjected to a "we are making a big investment in you" meeting on week 5 and be packing your desk in front of 200 people on week six with little meaningful explanation. Maybe there is an extra critical eye on your potential right before the benefits kick in? 
Oh, and if you are asked to "sever ties", when your supervisor asks you if he can help you to your car, it is to be sure that he can retrieve your door key. Hmmm, I sense that he had some serious practice and seeing folks out. 
Some of the people there are really nice but not anyone who has worked there for very long. I sense you have to get on that Kool-Aid pretty quick to make the cut. 
If you need some money, dress well, say what they want to hear and get that position at BAO. Then, collect a few paychecks to buy you the time to find something you won't have to regret later, either because of the humiliation of being asked to leave or because sadly, you actually work there!

BAO is great! At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. By no means is this an "easy" job, and yes sales, and making 200 dials might not be for everyone, but it is absolutely rewarding. Pay plan is great for those who are driven, hungry, and motivated. For each individual, as with most things in life, it is what you make it. Hardest part of the job, also just like anything in life, is managing the lows and fighting on those hard days, but thanks to great training and a great team they can help! Lot of companies out there preach a "family" like culture and a "work/life" balance, but BAO means it! They are very flexible, very understanding, compassionate, and truly care about both, your personal and professional development. The best part? It comes from the TOP down. Family owned business since 1997. Great story. All of these goodies are represented, not only, throughout the Interview process from the very first phone call I took with the recruiter, but also for the week of training at HQ! Could go on and on, but has been everything I expected AND more. Had other job opportunities and it was a hard choice for me, but proud to a a BAO'er! I made the right choice. Company culture is one where I feel valued and any concerns are taken seriously. Management is in the trenches with us and all upper execs (even Jim Higgins, the CEO) have open door policies where you can voice your opinion and it is encouraged. No one looks over your shoulder and micromanages you. It's up to you whether you succeed, fail, or just aren't cut out for sales. I work in the administrative side of the business and see all the hard work our account/client relationship/management puts into making our inside sales team succeed. Every person in the company will drop everything to help you if you need it. It's an environment of shared success and support, not cutthroat. The pay structure is above average for all positions (even administrative), although the health insurance is a little expensive.  I don't see myself leaving BAO until they kick me out! 

In my opinion the most important question when looking for a job or career is:

How is my time spent here developing my skills to carry forward into the future?

This is an area where BAO absolutely shines in. Every step of the way, from the upper level executives to the coworkers alongside you and everything in between you will find helping hands ready to teach and give advice for you to consistently learn and grow. 

Being a hybrid work-structure is absolutely the best, having the flexibility to work from home really saves on commute and helps with work/life balance. The culture is very warm and welcoming. you can always except to find friendly faces on in-office days. 

The base salary is fair currently at $40k/yr but the real money is making commission. Once acclimated it's very feasible to be making closer to 70k/yr

Management is very understanding of life situations 

I spent over two years at this mental nightmare, sweat shop and rue the day I made the mistake of speaking with the recruiter. The message seems sound but the machine is broken and the chain of command is in denial and ruthlessly cut throat, even to each other. You will be lied to and coerced from the moment you get there. They will suck every bit of self respect and motivation you have out and spit your confused carcass out onto the pavement. Take it from me, this is not just some vengeful, talentless nay sayer who refuses to admit his/her shortcomings. This company is NOT a career, is NOT a positive place to rebound and is NOT a place that will do anything but waste the valuable time you have left on this earth. Do not believe the lies and move on quickly. This is a cleverly disguised snake den.

Cold calling on fortune 2000 accounts, on an average day I made 180+ calls and had 90 minutes of talk time.  I made calls for a Fortune 10 company and worked with many of their reps to develop strategic messaging for their respective platforms.  
The most enjoyable part of the job was a tie between learning high level messages for cutting edge technologies and BAO's company culture.  Colleagues were more than willing to help anyone on the floor and there was a high level of support and camaraderie. 
The hardest part of the job, by far, was the lack of control in material you received in order to make your monthly quota.  
Overall, this is a very good opportunity for someone with the right mindset.  You have to be able to multi-task and be very organized.

If you plan on coming on as an Inside Sales Rep be prepared to sit all day in your sit. Everyone breaks at the same time. There is opportunity to make decent money if you can get the numbers where they need to be. A lot of people struggle to make goal. There are some that do great. Do not think you are going to get the best lists to call on. It is a give and take. You must be prepared to work your self til you can no longer work yourself. This is not an easy job and there truly is no down time. They do give ongoing training and they try their best to help you meet goal. But do not expect that what they teach you is enough to get you where you need to be. You will be expected to do a minimum of 180 dials a day every day and you will be talked to repeatedly if you do not get those dials in. If you can come in and keep to yourself and sit at a desk for 8 hours a day and not talk to anyone and dial, dial, dial then feel free to apply. It is a grind!

Between the office environment and the organizational structure, BAO has found the sweet spot between collaboration and competition. This starts with the training team, who sets the standard right away with an intensive orientation and encouragement to always reach out when help is needed. That culture is very contagious and everyone is always helping everyone at BAO. Working in appointment setting at BAO is not for the faint of heart, it is a challenging job, which in turn can be very rewarding for those that are up for the challenge. Overall, BAO is an extremely rewarding place to work, full of good people, who reallt want to help each other succeed. 

The environment at BAO is unlike any other, every employee is there to help and provide support to you in any way possible. The managers and operations are also there for you every second to provide support.  They make it clear that they want to support you so that you can hit the numbers you want and make the money you want. They provide a great work-life balance where you have flexible hours during the summer. They make it clear that this is your own little business so the harder you work the more successful you will be.  I can honestly say this work environment is one of the first I have experienced where it is lively, productive, and also fun. Break time means playing sports outside the office or conducting office-wide competitions for prizes.
