Our patient facing roles are consultative in nature, and it's not a call center sales job. You will answer questions, explain product, help patients understand how their payer will process their request, and truly be an educator. Patients are referred to us either by their doctor or the product manufacturer, so there is no real selling. You educate and explain, and allow the patient space to make their decision on whether or not to move forward. 60-70% of the patients we speak with elect to proceed because they realize they need this medical device to help manage their Diabetes.

I've got lupus and that causes a myriad of symptoms, most difficult to handle is my heat sensitivity. I worked here for about 1 mo in which I was physically sick every day from the heat of the building, fans were running nonstop, and the sun in the afternoons made the heat radiate in the building in a way you can almost feel the heatwaves themselves. It's like sitting outside in full sun on a summer day. When I asked if the temperature could be adjusted due to the sun baking the building, I was told it was a matter of an email to the building manager. I also asked if the blinds could be closed and they said that "wasn't fair to the other employees who enjoy the sun" and that they "couldn't just go around to every employee to see if they were okay with the blinds closed." Then, when I brought up turning up the AC when the thermostat read 80° in the building, they literally told me it would be too difficult to do and to "go sit in front of a fan" (after they'd previously stated it was an email to the building manager to change the temp). Not to mention it was literally cooler outside of the building than it was inside and when asked if I could go sit outside they told me "no, the fan should be enough."
 They're liars, they're lazy because they won't put in the two seconds of work it would take to accommodate the disability to ease the symptoms, and they're incredibly ableist for a company working for people with health conditions providing diabetic supplies. It's ironic how they treat their employees with health conditions when it's their entire job to assist and provide for those with health conditions. 
Throughout my whole training they spoke of compassion and tolerance and how people with diabetes can have mood swings when their sugar is off, but that we should be compassionate to them even when they gripe and snap at us, but where was the compassion when I was sitting in there being made physically ill from the temperature of their building (which was hot enough that I vomited after sitting there sweating for hours) and they FIRED ME for being sick and having to go home?

Working at Byram for five years was a challenging experience. There is a noticeable presence of nepotism within leadership, as several high-ranking positions are held by closely related individuals. This dynamic creates an environment where performance, career progression, and even personal matters seem to be discussed beyond the workplace. Changes in leadership attitudes can be sudden and unpredictable, making job security feel uncertain.

During my time there, I attempted to navigate the internal culture to advance my career but found the experience disheartening. Career paths were often dictated rather than developed collaboratively, and I was placed in roles and responsibilities without proper training or support. For example, I was expected to handle supervisor-level calls despite not being in a supervisory role.

Policies and procedures were often unclear, leading to inconsistent decision-making. Employees were sometimes put in difficult situations when interacting with customers, as company mistakes frequently resulted in escalated calls. Additionally, transparency around performance evaluations, pay, and bonuses was lacking, creating frustration and distrust.

When I raised concerns about internal roadblocks affecting my career growth, I did not feel supported by HR. Leadership seemed to prioritize results over employee well-being, and constructive feedback was not always welcomed. Team dynamics were impacted by favoritism, and there was a lack of clear direction from management.

Ultimately, while the pay may be competitive, the overall work environment left much to be desired. I would encourage prospective employees to carefully consider whether this aligns with their career goals and values before accepting a position.

When offered a position to work at this facility I was told I was going to be working a receiving position. I was at first told I would be starting at the bottom in order to get to know the inventory before I would start actually working in receiving. I was taping boxes for 2 weeks initially in a non climate controlled warehouse. I was then moved to picking orders which I did for about a month and a half. No mention of receiving by the supervisor and very little contact with any administrative employees above him. The temperature reached over 100 degrees over the summer and I also found there is no heat in the winter. The warehouse itself was disorganized and unkempt. 90% of the workers there seemed to have been in temporary status's for up to a year without being hired on.
A typical day here consisted of walking in and carrying as many multi-sized boxes as you could to your cart and proceeding to pick for 8 hours returning to the back of the warehouse for more boxes as needed. Broken ladders where used and the aisles are numbered haphazardly. The work itself was exhausting considering how much searching you had to do to find your items. I learned at this job that I am capable of much more challenging tasks and felt I was being taking advantage of because of their need for someone to pick orders. I felt more of an urge to reorganize the product in the warehouse and wish I had the authority to at least have a stock and inventory program installed to keep track of product numbers and locations.

As with any customer service position, you’re going to deal with irate/difficult customers. It just comes with the territory. Luckily, in this position, the vast majority of customers are decent. But you do get some bad apples. Keep in mind, the majority of the patients that are dealt with are senior citizens so they tend to be set in their ways and a little more difficult. Love my coworkers so much. They make the day so much more enjoyable. Overall, management is great. I always feel heard and never feel that I can’t go to a manager with an issue if I need to. Although, I do sense favoritism on occasion which is concerning. The starting pay is decent compared to other CSR jobs. But they do need to either consider some sort of quarterly bonus benefit or improve the current “incentive” program they have. Which is really lackluster. The company has always been very flexible when it comes to adjusting my schedule for the day or requesting time off when needed. The only big complaint I have, is the lack of company culture at Byram. There is none. The overall atmosphere can be quite drab and depressing at times. It’s not the most fun, upbeat environment. And in my opinion, work should be fun. It’s also starting to feel very robotic. I’m not sure what needs to be done, but someone needs to step in and start looking out for the employee and make some changes in the office otherwise employees will jump ship. Overall, I love my position at Byram. But it desperately needs some tweaking. 

The most toxic environment I've ever worked in. First day at my desk and was warned by my desk neighbor who not to trust (bad start) and that management would eventually come after me if they didnt like me. Spent my entire time at Byram being stuck in the middle of everyone constantly attacking, belittling, and talking bad about each other with no response from management. Policies and practices changed almost daily with stated refusal from management to provide any kind of database or documentation on the constant changes, yet were more than happy to hold mistakes against you. Favoritism was blatant from managers, even resulting in their favorites wrongdoings being swept under the rug. Do not expect to be able to ask for help or "coaching", as your requests will be ignored if not convenient for them, yet any issues will still be held against you. Overall, it's a very toxic environment both from coworkers AND management, and if management does not like you for whatever reason, you'll constantly be picked on and put down, docked on review scores, or eventually fired without any legitimate reasons or any examples provided for their "reasons", and you cant do a thing about it because Utah is an "at-will" employer. They know this and fully use this to their advantage. If you want to make decent money and dont mind hating yourself and being miserable, go for it.

I’ve been interested in seeing what the reviews have looked like since I’ve never looked before. I’m surprised with the variation but can make sense of most of it. The ones that slam the organization probably couldn’t cut it because they were either not interested in learning or didn’t like being held accountable for actually performing their job. I’ve been with the organization for almost 20 years. I love what I do and I can’t imagine a better place to do it at. The teammates are so helpful with each other and it is just a good overall work environment. Of course everyday isn’t perfect, the customers are mean at times, but I always appreciate the fact that I am able to help at least most of our customers receive the supplies that they need to conduct their daily lives. Benefits have always been solid and fair in cost. Can it be better? Yes. But I do believe the organization has always made decisions for the overall benefit of the team and it isn’t always about me. If you are looking for a place that requires you to think on your toes, work with friendly people, provide supplies and assistance to those with serious medical conditions, and a management team that not only works alongside you but cares about you as a person, then come work here at the HB office. Your days go by quickly because we are always busy so come meet the challenge with us.

I worked here almost a year and the people that work with you are the best. Everyone tries to help everyone else as much as possible. However, the team leads and supervisors will do anything and everything to not take calls when a patient wants to talk to a supervisor. Right now they are backed up in the verifications process by five days so patients orders are being delayed. On top of this there is new rules and regulations so A LOT of Medicare patients aren’t being taken care of anymore  So we have a ton of angry people calling in. On top of it all they are trying to instill a new program  without any training. Just handing out packets and telling us to follow the instructions. it’s like they want everyone to quit.  I couldn't take it anymore. Every patient was angrier than the last. Calls on hold were 80+ It's worse because you want to help all these people but your hands are pretty much tied.  If you try taking your time helping a patient you get in trouble because they just want us to take as many calls as  possible even if we have to lie to  patients.  Managers have favorites. Definitely feel like as a person of color I was discriminated against. It's all just bad. I hope they get their things together because the patients sometimes have no other option but to get their supplies from here.

You need to be fast on your feet. They expect 18-25 orders per hour. IF you can't reach that quota by your third week, you're gone (fired/terminated if temp worker). 

IT helps to make a mental note of where all the items are at, so you can get faster at pulling the orders...but this is difficult when other order pickers leave the isles a mess or if everyone traffics the same isle. 

Make sure you pack the orders correctly, otherwise the packers complain...like, they make a huge deal out of it in a very hysterical way that is annoying. This can also get you fired. 

$14-15/hour isn't bad for order pulling/packing...but you do not have work/life balance & there is no opportunity for advancement. 

This is a job for someone who is simply & rightfully working for monthly pay for a living or someone who doesn't intend on staying long, six months max. 

I'd recommend it as a summer job only through one of the 3 temp agencies (Select staffing, Randstad, Kelly Services)...or as a place holder until you find something better. 

Not a bad paying job, but it is time consuming...and demanding.

Within one year (2012-2013), over 5 managers who had all been there over 15 years each all quit.  A lot of turnover creates a minimal training base for employees to succeed confidentially.  Leads and managers are overworked and don't seem to have time to help employees.  They don't care if you work through lunch and your breaks and expect you to work longer than scheduled hours.  The co-workers are nice but very stressed out due to the lack of training, management time, and pressure to get work done- when people quit they don't replace the person they tend to just spread out that persons job duties to the other existing employees.  The pay is good and the benefits are ok.  The hardest part of the job was keeping up on the constant changing insurance plans and making sure the info and job is being done correctly and legally.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the challenge and ever changing environment keeping everyone on their toes.
