What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part is taking a completely psychotic, addicted, disheveled person from living on the street through hard work on their part and on ours, to someone who has got a toe hold on recovery, sober, sane, stable, and actively participating in their recovery. And also,  finding them, and placing them  in appropriate long-term housing to fit their needs.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Always working at an unbelievable pace. Also those high risk people we work so hard to help, and because they can, they walk out, returning to their previous circumstances, and do it right before their personal miracle happens.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very supportive and the team works together, with open and honest supervisors who are willing to give a person the time to learn and become proficient at doing the job. And plenty laughter and all the team teaching each other to do the work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive at shift. Get briefed. And start running around doing task after task for basically my whole shift. Rarely is there a break. I often even forget to eat my lunch. This is, however, the nature of the work. It is not determined by bosses, only because we work so hard to accomplish our goals in less than 14 days.

Production begins with morning exercise, room maintenance, and completing morning hygiene. Educating a population of Dual Diagnosed consumers which includes; symptom management, substance abuse, anger management, money management, activity of daily living, structural outing. 

Attained extensive knowledge and skills in performing educational classes. Attained extensive knowledge in leadership, individual and group therapy, providing specialized services in conjunction with other professionals, developing treatment plans, perform intake and assessments.

Management and co-workers display professional work ethics. Great team work, which gets the job done in a timely manner.

Stabilizing clients first entering this facility is most challenging. Extensive behavior observations are crucial in this field of work which includes; aggressive behavior, suicidal thoughts, or depression. 

Consumer's who are 100% committed to recovery who asks questions, yearning to learn about their behaviors, and observing changes are all rewarding in this field of work.

Need to be passionate working with population in the severely mental ill and substance abuse, otherwise pay and benefits not worth the stress load and hostile working environment. 

Poor benefits. No advancement opportunities. No raises. High cost for medical benefits. Retirement plan out of own pocket, no input from company. Difficulty getting vacation approved and getting vacation thrown out if not used at the end of the year. Does not reimburse for mileage and no company car or company funded car insurance. Poor parking.

Unorganized. Archaic filing and documentation system, which creates redundant work.

Working within the population is one thing, but working environment with coworkers and management is another issue to address. No team work or support. Always a competition between coworkers and different departments. No recognition for good work or bonus or incentives, easily reprimanded. Poor management. No support from supervisors and administrators. Less likely encounter harassment from clients than employees of Care Hawaii, especially from higher rank position employees.

Turnover rate of employees high. Good as temporary job until you find another job with higher pay and greater benefits.

I love working at Care Hawaii because of the compassionate team, supportive environment, and meaningful impact we make every day helping individuals achieve wellness, growth, and lasting recovery together.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The worst part about working at Care Hawaii is buying my own supplies, low pay, delayed vacation benefits, and strict sick leave rules that force using full days unnecessarily.

The work environment and culture at Care Hawaii are awesome because everyone supports one another, communicates openly, celebrates growth, and truly cares about making a positive difference together.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at Care Hawaii involves collaborating with clients and team members, conducting wellness or therapy sessions, documenting progress, attending meetings, supporting recovery goals, and promoting overall well-being.

This job embodies the idea of working independently but also as a team. A typical day is working by yourself, running around the community answering calls, and having the freedom to work wherever you want--home, Starbucks, the office, etc. You communicate to your team leader and coworkers via text messaging or calling because you're a Crisis MOBILE Outreach Worker. Some days are busy with the Crisis Line calling with multiple calls, some days are dead. If you're okay with unpredictability and are adaptable, this job is amazing. The best part is working with clients who are motivated to help themselves and are grateful they have someone who's willing to listen and cater to their feelings and concerns. This occupation isn't easy as you deal with some difficult clients in difficult situations, but if you're in the psychology field this job is perfect because you get a broad range of experiences in substance abuse, homelessness, working with youth/adolescents, working with the elderly, intellectual disabilities, and of course mental illness.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Fine place to work with good co-workers.  Limited to only 20 hours in Case Management.  They do not pay mileage which is unfortunate because you travel constantly including transporting clients.  They also don't provide a work laptop which is unusual.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Meeting your timeline of seeing clients face to face while doing this under 20 to 25 hours. You have allotted 1 hour per client.  Often times clients take MUCH LONGER than 1 hour.  If you are not mindful you end up working 30 to 40 hours without pay just to meet the deadlines.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Quiet, occasionally supportive,  good case managers and good supervisors 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
If you had control over your caseload, it's easier to navigate.  However, the clients have mental needs+


Worst place for this position 
$14 isn't enough( that's what the pay is now) for the work of 3 people (not kidding) the average tolerance of passed employers for this position was 2 wks.. I patiently tolerated 8 months and you can ask clients and some staff I was the best and that's just me being patient, tolerable and average. The management will break a negotiate signed contract with you at any given moment to your benefits and have the odacity to add more duties and expect you to dedicate your life t this position without even caring you have a life outside the office.. the place is unsanitary and you are placed at your own risk everyday to catch biohazardous viruses and bed bugs trust me.. not worth it..

Flexibility to work at home and out in the field. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor support from administration. Unlicensed staff can only work P/T in case management. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Majority of work environment is out-of-office in CCS program.  Culture is up to Team Leaders how they keep their team motivated and accountable.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Meeting with clients in the field, at their home or program location or at the office.  Communicate with their team support members and collaterals. Provide needed support services,  assessments,  medication, housing.  Update treatment plans and other mandated documents.  Do progress notes.  Keep client files organized.

I would open up the office at 7am to set up for the day. I would prepare the lessons that my counselors would teach. I managed 2 counselors and 1 office assistant. I learned how to manage by working cohesively with others to promote a healthy work environment. I was also in charge of the billing and payroll for my workers. I would have constant relations with our providers as well as the payors such as HMSA, Aloha Care, and other financial responsibilities. I think the hardest part of my job was leaving work at home when my shift was done. I tend to get so invested in the population that I was working with. The most enjoyable was seeing the success of people that recover from substance abuse addiction and how I affected their lives. I truly enjoy working with others and making a difference in peoples lives.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with co-workers who think they're above others and screw the case managers' coordination of services up and waste their time (time that they aren't going to be paid for).

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Inconsistencies: training, management, company equipment that doesn't help the workflow. No reimbursements for mileage or computer/data use.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful work environment with MH clients. What culture? There is none.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Hectic and not enough time. Having to be on-call, putting in extra, emergency mandatory hours of work, informing the team lead and NOT getting paid for putting in the emergency work, well after hours. Not optimum.
