The store works well for part time work, they are super flexible with hours however when the company does not start making their goals they begin to cut hours without notifying you. Pay is minimum wage and it is not a livable wage, raises are not even in question. One is lucky to even get a raise. The management at this company is very poor, the communication lacks, the store is supposed to be ran as a team but if you put in more effort, you will never be appreciated for it. Their focus is solely on credit cards and they say they care about the customers but they sell poor quality items. Everything will eventually break and they do not have a warranty policy. Only 30 days, so if your item breaks after 30 days, tough luck. The company treats everyone unfairly, favoritism is huge. There is a huge communication gap between online customer service, the distribution warehouses, and the store. You do not feel appreciated at this company and they will use anything against you to let you go (basically use policy against you and they do not emphasize it when hiring). Never accept anything from the company, no matter what. Also if you do end up working here, be careful with what you purchase, they will watch and track you.

Proximity to public transit, position is more self guided then with a team or with co workers, and comfortably be able to be yourself in a company setting. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unrealistic expecting from corporate, store management team also. Outdated and constantly messed up technology, no opportunity for advancement, no support for both minor and major issues on a regular basis, and extremely toxic environment set in by management. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is usually laid back and easy going outside of peak business times, and also when shifts are mostly independent away from management. Very passive-aggressive engagement from management. From a corporate perspective on environment, you are nothing more then a piece to use for Corporate gain. The culture is surprisingly inclusive, engaging, and supportive. Best part of my job is my coworkers, that I have found to be delightfully diverse, and amazing people to be around, even at the busy times at work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Focus on customers. Engagement and sales are most important. Store maintenance is expected. Product knowledge and experience is encouraged for all employees. Large list of expectations with little support from management or corporate. You are lectured and  redirected for the many times you do not meet expectations, even when you do. Very hard to have any substantial work done as you get no help or support most of the time for what you do.

It's a decent place to work but the paycheck doesn't feel appropriate to the amount of work expected from the employees. They want us to bring in thousands a day selling house furniture when the price of one sofa alone is more than two or three paychecks combined. They expect above and beyond performance but pay only bottom of the barrel for it when it's the sales and stock teams doing most of the work to make those sales. This causes a high rotation of sales, stock, and managers because there's better paying jobs out there for the same amount of work. There's little reason to stay at this job besides some extra cash or something to 'do' as even full time pay doesn't meet a decent salary and most often the employees have two or three other jobs on top of working here. Yearly evaluations may lead to <1$ raises for a year's worth of above average work. Full time positions make barely more than part time. 

If this is your only full time job you'll be struggling to make ends meet on top of not having much of a work/life balance because of the fluctuating hours (why does a furniture store need to be open until 9pm?)

Definitely a 'throw a pizza party and call that Employee support/appreciation' sort of deal.

The discount is 30 % off and you can use it on sale or clearance.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The whole company is terribly unorganized. There is no work life balance at any level of the organization. They expect employees to have 100 percent open availability even if you have medical issues. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is toxic. Corporate will visit and basically terrorize employees and threaten to fire everyone. They do not listen to the concerns of employees. The company manages through fear.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You show up and join the sales floor. Then you organize incoming shipments because they are understaffed in the receiving area. Then the sales floor is understaffed and you are reprimanded for not unboxing product fast enough and you rush to the sales floor to assist customers. Your professional clothing will get ruined and you'll be reprimanded for not being able to afford new clothes. Mid level managers do everything they can to assist everywhere they can but the regional managers will just punish everyone for not keeping up because they can't stay staffed because they pay so terribly.

What is the best part of working at the company?
the job is thankless, without commission and with the pressure of a sales job, catty and juvenile work environment, unwelcoming, hostile and tedious.

The other people who work there, no structure within corporate foundation, design and sales job in one doesn’t pay enough, no compensation or niceties for employees, cold dirty and sad 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Bad. The management is miserable and they don’t compensate at all for their employees comfort or give any flexibility with hours. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Spending my entire shift sitting at an uncomfortable fancy desk chair in a cold warehouse building, listening to loud music and breathing in dust, while everyone walks around in circles running over to customers to manically ask if they need anything so that we can make the quota even though we don’t make anything from it. Just being exploited and uncomfortable. It sucks.

This store is perfect for a part timer that has a 9-5 and just works weekends and evenings.  For a ful timer not so much. The pay is literally not a livable wage even with overtime. The management wants sales and cb2 cards but with no extra incentives. Snacks and lunch isn't gonna cut it. The cost of living is just too overwhelming.  Also the favoritism is annoying.  Everyone is treated differently based on if the management likes you. Also the company is not ran well. Customer service is not on the same page as in store. Returns are a disaster and customers leave angry and disappointed.

This used to be a nice job. Ppl are nice product is beautiful.  They throw new employees out to fend for themselves even with experience other employees have to train.  It's a complicated place to work ppl don't get comm but have high goals that make management sweat. The down side is that has led to high turn over of management. Some not  professional  with ppl Condescending attitudes, drama, micromanagement, juvenile favoritism. However the team of employees help, they see the drama or when someone is being picked  on and don't engage.   It creates for some an hostile workplace environment .  Managers are burnt out. The drama and pettiness doesn't bring out the best in ppl it makes you a nervous wreck and you begin to feel unsafe. I wish HR would reach out it's essentially organized harassment. 

The CB2 that I was in, was really cool. I left in 2016 because of a manager that I REALLY didn’t like. He just wasn’t fit to be a manager at CB2, the assistant manager at the time was WAAAY better & he deserved to be the store manager but I digress.

Most days it was really slow, so you would have to spend most of your day cleaning or walking the floor. On the days it was busy, those days were interesting because you’re actually doing something. The customers weren’t bad at all, I mean it’s retail so of course you’re gonna have rude customers, but to me it wasn’t often. 

CB2 was a chill place, the furniture was definitely nice. I left because of distance & I took public transportation. So there will be times we will leave at 10:00pm because we aren’t allowed to tell the customers that we’re closed or closing (idk if that has changed now) & it would take me 2 hours to get home.

I worked 3 jobs a week and they were flexible with my schedule.  People are friendly and helpful in general at this store location. I have learned that they are very strict about being on time. A five minute grace period is allowed, but don’t abuse or call out sick too often.  (Those people didn’t last very long.) Most people arrive 5-15 minutes before a shift. The most enjoyable part was working alone on occasion, the support from colleagues, and the discount. The company is really good about including everyone during the day, on the big picture of the company with sales and general notes from the day. Something I don’t recall ever experiencing at other retail employment in the past. Also a 401k plan for part time employees.

I worked as a Stock Associate from last spring to fairly recently. Was a pretty decent job when the last manager was there, but recently he moved to another location. All the stock associates in the back have a great atmosphere and relationship with one another. The new manager plays favorites and treats the associates that aren’t their friends like cannon fodder. Also, the pay is the absolute minimum wage. It’s virtually impossible to make a living wage as a stock or sales associate there. Also, there were various employees unhappy with the current management. If you want to work at a place where you are under appreciated and underpaid, then this is the company for you.
