I was excited to begin working with CFND. There were a lot of false promises made during the interview process. Minimal transparency as far as expectations vs. reality during onboarding.

Unfortunately I left this position less than 12 months after starting, as did many others. There is HIGH turnover, so expect many transfer clients who are just as frustrated as you are. Practically ZERO communication between leadership and staff, and no clear understanding on who to contact for specific matters. You will notice in the EHR that there are different people scheduling your clients weekly, yet we are supposed to have a "dedicated scheduler." This creates many issues and wasted time tracking down staff via email to ask questions that are often not answered clearly or you are redirected to someone else you need to track down.

They offer no PTO which is practically UNHEARD of in this field. We work a hard job dealing with extremely high caseloads and diverse clients, and as a reward we get NO paid time off. UNREAL! This was not clearly disclosed during the interviews, as I was told there were "multiple options" for "leave time" but upon being hired and inquiring about this, I was informed there was no PTO. I guess we are expected to work ourselves into the ground for this company, and get no time off as a reward.

This is a W2 full-time position however, the workload and responsibilities reflect that of a sole proprietor type of position - minus the pay. You will be doing A LOT on your own and have a hard time finding support from leadership or staff as they are usually unavailable and carry large caseloads themselves. It feels much like a therapy mill. I carried a caseload of 30 per week minimum - which is extremely high for industry standards - and pay was still less than six figures, with no PTO. Extremely limited holiday pay. I believe it was just the major holidays - Christmas, Thanksgiving,  and New Years.

The benefits include health insurance, vision  and dental. CFND contributes a very small amount towards benefits (less than half of the cost). 

Lots of late cancellations, or cancellations made and/or received by other staff members which adds to the frustration and confusion, having to track down various staff members to inquire and subsequently still having to reach out to your client to manage rescheduling. 

I would ask LOTS of questions during the interview process on specifics regarding pay, time off, and expectations for job duties and responsibilities. 

You create your work hours for the most part but have to meet specific quotas for specific pay and bonus structures . Pay structures and contracts are questionable and have non-competes. Offers different options for salary structures which range in pay, quotas, sick days offered, bonuses, and no show or late cancellation pay. Sadly, only one option has no show and late cancellation pay offered. Clients no show and cancel often since they are not charged a no show or late cancellation fee. 

You get paid leave time which includes sick days and holidays, no pto. Sick days do not roll over. Vacation time off is unpaid. 

Management is unorganized and leadership is not supportive and lack professionalism. Monthly meetings are pointless and tend to be general social check-ins. 

High turn over seems to be a result of high session quotas, no pto or paid vacation time off , high case loads, and lack of support. Scheduling team does not respect therapist boundaries when therapists set limits like not willing to take on more clients or when ending meetings with clients due to consistent no shows.  

Clients are transferred often due to therapist turn over. Session requirements are high and can be difficult to meet with no shows and cancellations. Therapists tend to be on their own and are given direction through emails or general procedure documents. No annual reviews are given and limited feedback provided. 

Good for therapists that do not need support, willing to complete a minimum of 30+ sessions a week, and comfortable with being disconnected from the workplace. 

Overall the company says the right things and the actions show you differently. Read your contracts and referred to your employee handbook often. Become familiar with employment language and know your rights. 

I've been working as an LMFT at CFND Behavioral Health for almost three years and it's been a fantastic experience. The benefits are comprehensive, including health insurance, retirement plans, and generous PTO, which really support a healthy work-life balance.

This past year was a really difficult one personally… I lost two family members in the span of two months and had to take a great deal of time off to process everything. During this time, Halie personally reached out serval times to check on me and to make sure I was doing ok and offer support… I truly don’t know how I would have gotten through this time without CFND. In moments like this, you can really tell how an employer shows up for employees and CFND showed up above and beyond…

If you're looking for a place where you can grow both personally and professionally while making a real impact in the field of mental health, CFND Behavioral Health is the perfect place to be. 

I was really excited when I first started working here but quickly realized the high turnover rate. 

Instead of getting new clients, you get transferred clients because Therapists are constantly quitting.  Clients are passed around and they are not usually thrilled about that. 

They didn’t charge clients for not showing to their sessions so therefore clients were not extremely motivated and would drop off your caseload randomly. 

Practically no support. The supervisors that I had were unprofessional and unorganized.

Benefits were below the minimum of expectations compared to similar positions. You will get very few paid vacation days and minimal holidays per year. Less than five I believe. 

The pay structure they use is suspect for sure and I encourage the current employees to really review the contracts they have signed because there is some questionable stuff going on.

Working with Kaiser members was nice as the population is very diverse. I noticed tons of transfer cases given to all therapists as the turnover rate increased about a year ago. Therapists are expected to carry a 30-plus caseload to make the promised pay, which is already low compared to other companies.  Benefits are poor with very low PTO, 3 holidays per year, and a very expensive health insurance plan with a very minimal contribution from the employer.  Management is toxic and unprofessional (cussing during meetings and supervision) and leadership doesn't have a mental health background and cares about the numbers not employees or clients. That Kaiser continues to send its members to this company is mind-boggling.

There is balance in a typical workday. Whenever there have been questions, admin has been supportive and there is always someone available with a fast response to any question that arose. 

Admin is willing to meet (zoom/phone) as many times as needed to ensure questions are answered and processes are explained. 

Leads and Regional therapists are supportive and provide clear expectations/information.

Administrative liaisons reach out to insurance companies if there is a question about client's authorization, clarification on services available for client, guidance needed for clients requiring Higher Levels of Care, etc. 

I wanted to succeed in this company and stayed even after I saw the red flags. There was a lack of communication with staff and specifically with leadership which often said or promised different things to different people making it very difficult to lead the clinicians I was assigned to lead effectively. I was also never given useful feedback or recognized for achievements, etc. No-shows are not covered but there were also many client complaints regarding clinician behavior. The excellent reviews here are surprising and the bad ones seem to disappear I am wondering if this is fair to job seekers and potential clients looking for comprehensive mental health services. 





Joining this company has been one of the most meaningful decisions I’ve made in my career. From day one, I felt welcomed, supported, and genuinely valued, not just as an employee, but as a person.

The leadership is compassionate and transparent, genuinely caring about the well-being of both clients and staff. There’s a deep sense of purpose in the work we do, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of a team that’s making such a positive impact.

The flexibility of remote work has also been a huge gift. It’s allowed me to find a healthier rhythm in life while still feeling connected and engaged with my coworkers.

I love everything that I have been able to learn since joining CFND over two years ago. I've always felt very supported, encouraged, and been given opportunities to grow I don't think that I would have ever received elsewhere. The heart of our culture here is something we are all very proud of. We truly care about each of our providers and CFND's core values can be felt in all aspects of our work. In a world of private equity and teach companies coming into this space, I am grateful to be where I am.

After years of looking - CFND was the first organization that has felt “right”. I am able to have full control over my schedule,  compensation is more than I have found elsewhere, benefits are amazing and am very happy with the overall security that I have found here. Last year, employees expressed wanting some additional holidays and coverage for no-shows and CFND made it happen. In my experience, the leadership team has always been fair and listen to what people need which is SO rare. I feel seen here and feel appreciated. I am honored to work here and recommend it highly.
