They continue to update business processes as they make business changes or acquisitions.  The people are friendly and the management is busy but helpful.  This is a learn as you work company with limited training.  

Many days are spent putting out fires or needing to make quick decisions.  I learned to review the processes for the root cause to make changes.  Time to train on those changes proved difficult at times.  

Keeping the documentation updated for audits and the Sarbanes Oxley review was the least enjoyable task required for the job.

You are able to make business decisions in your department and help in others.  

Working as a team is the most enjoyable part of this job; pushing for results or a financial goal with the Sales team and Operations.

A clear lack of leadership within business segments.  There was no clear direction that everyone was all moving towards.  There was a lot of frustration amongst employees over the constant change and turnover throughout.  Another frustration is you are pulled in different directions all the time and you get told to do other people's job responsibilities because management won't hold those others accountable including themselves.   The culture is described to you as a big company with a family atmosphere, which is furthest from the truth as you truly are just a number to them.  A manager in the plant with a family was let go right before the holidays.  The typical workday is filled with constant interruptions and meetings from management and other employees because many of them are allowed to work remotely and they have no idea what is going on; thus, causing a lot of wasted time and energy.   Was definitely not the place for me.  

The management at Circor is atrocious. The leadership team could use some training in effective leadership and appreciation for their hardworking employees. 
The work/life balance is non-existent, as what used to be a 5 day work week has turned into a 7 day work week, including holidays that some rarely have off to spend with their families.  
Management does not care about it's employees and what could be a good work environment has been reduced to a place most would rather not be.  The sad part is, it's still a paycheck.  
Most of the people I have worked with are great.  However, for some reason, the Circor culture has become one that keeps those that do little for the company, and lets go those hard working employees that actually do a great job.  I have seen this happen many times over the years. 
We would all like a job where we are appreciated, recognized for a job well done and provided with a positive and supportive workplace.  It's sad to say that Circor is NOT that place.

Began the day doing group stretching exercises, while being told of the previous days ups and downs. Also info for the day.  At my work station, I checked and restocked inventory. Next I began to install anti-tampering devices on valves, writing shipping slips, prep products for paint, take items to paint line and retrieve items already painted. Packed and boxed valves, placed on pallet.  I learned how to scan the product for shipping. Shipped 100-150 items per day. This was never enough for management who seemed more interested in numbers than quality.  My coworkers were mostly good people to be around- hardworking and enjoyable. The hardest part for me was having a large order of a heavy product, which caused me to do lifting from place to place as I worked items one by one.
The best part of the job was finishing a large order and watching it being hauled to the shipping dock

Circor is brutal to its employees.  There is no gratitude for jobs well done, no compensation for giving up your free time to work for them free if you are salaried, and the constant phone calls on your days off or even while on vacation are inexcusable.

A typical day was 6AM to 6PM or more.  Constantly being harassed by several different departments about the same items, when one posted board would have covered all the departments.

I learned more about the China companies and how they function in their country and how badly Circor treated them as suppliers of good faith.

Management was great in the beginning, that manager left and the manager that was put in "short term" changed the way we did everything and was incorrect in his assessments of what should be purchased and what should not, his misconceptions has now cost the company $15M in excess material, that they will never be able to cancel or sell as it is obsolete.

Most enjoyable part of the job was lunch with my friends that I made while there.

There was a lot of political tension between the previous Supply Chain Manager and the Sales Staff...  Therefore the Sale Staff was manipulating forecasted sales data to drive up material to support these inflated forecasts.  In the Sales Mind of things, this would decrease lead time on making a finished product.  They would monitor purchase orders and after they were placed, they would change to a corrected forecast.   I knew what they were doing but was not allowed to prove it.  The IT Department worked for Marketing,  (couldn't figure that out)  But I was knoweldgable enough about MFG Pro (program at the time) to run a report which would confirm and identify the person changing the forecasts.   However, needed IT department access to run the report.     Wasn't going to happen.    Actually some of our people in purchasing got berated several times for their actions and almost lost their jobs.  I felt like this was a very unhealthy situation and decided to go elsewhere.   But I loved the products they made and I loved my job except for this issue.

Manage pushes product for a metric with quality taking a terrible hit. Management then scratches their head on why product is failing. This leads to multiple daily meetings that just leaves a few hours of time to actually work each day. Operations management is terrible and will direct employees that are not under their control. 

Machinists and employees are not trained or invested in and it shows. Workers are thrown into their position with zero onboarding and expected to thrive. Pride in work is nonexistent and worker moral is decimated. It is hard to stay positive. 

No room for advancement or employee investment. Old managers have their hands tied by New managers that come in and have no idea of the product or facility type.

If you are wanting to advance your career. Run Away!

If you want to ride out retirement for a few years, jump in quick. This company is about to collapse.


 

The management disconnect from the employees is staggering.  There are cliques at every department and nepotism is rampant. Most management is incompetent and has little or no relevant experience in the organization they are in charge of. If you are are free thinking, hard working individual you can forget about that. Common sense is frowned upon in favor of procedures written by people far removed from the actual work. Expect a cut throat environment where people shine by making others look bad.  80% of the floor hardly speak English and can't read or understand an application procedure or read a blueprint.  Needless to say, this company is overrun with DEI hires and they want it that way. Micromanaging and camera surveillance is the norm.  This place wants  mindless drones that keep their head down and don't question anything for fear of retaliation from spiteful management.  All the while,  office people giggle, laugh and walk around all day from office to office without a care in the world.    

I was appalled by the lack of intelligence and lack of uneducated managers that were in this location.  Workers in the company were gracious and hard-working.  However, rumors about previous layoffs and poor recognition of good work are very prominent in this company.  Thus, everyone is scared to speak their mind and announce any creative ideas for doing business.  If some of the managers could be replaced the company would be a great place to work.  Leaders that have brains have no backbones and those with no brains are the ones calling all the shots.  Pay was subpar and raises only come once a year.  Benefits are superb and I loved the relaxedness of the job.  8-5 hours and you are able to take off if needed without issues.  Attire is also relaxed for the environment.  Computer programs in the company are outdated and not up with technology in today’s world.
