Caduceus

I feel so fortunate to work at Caduceus. While the work can be stressful at times, my department is pretty cohesive, we care about each other and help out wherever we can. 

My typical day at work consists of taking patient calls, explaining bills, taking payments, explaining the balances on claims based upon the EOB in the insurance, taking supervisor calls, handling tickets, training new employees. It's pretty fast paced, my days are never boring. 

I have learned so much about medical billing here. They also have enrolled everyone from the team leads up to ADP instructor led courses regarding things like time management, managing the remote workplace, management styles, etc. 

The management in my department is cohesive, we try to be on the same page and make sure that things are fair for the staff. We usually work disagreements out pretty smoothly and we try to ensure that we are fostering the kinds of relationships with our staff that makes them feel comfortable coming to us if they've made a mistake. 

The company culture is awesome. We root for each other, give positive feedback whenever we can, celebrate peoples' successes, both personal and professional, and are all happy to help each other. 

The hardest part of the job for me is usually time management. I have several responsibilities and sometimes it's hard to juggle them effectively. 

The most enjoyable parts of the job are that we are fully remote, so I don't have to deal with traffic, driving home after a long or stressful day, what I'm going to eat for lunch, or what I'm going to wear. I also enjoy helping people, it feels nice to help someone understand why they have received a bill or sometimes be able to fix a claim so that the insurance pays it for the patient. I also love my coworkers. 

Work isn’t the greatest. Caduceus is a 3rd party company that gets contracted with hospitals in the east coast to manage their billing and coding duties. We were micromanaged and pushed to bring in as much revenue as possible. What made it very difficult to work was not having the right resources to obtain information on payments and claims. For example, access to payer portals, insurance payments were always sent to the wrong locations etc. 
Managers are hard to reach, yet they’re always available to review the screenshots of your screen every 5 mins. Yes, caduceus have a system where they automatically take a screenshot of your screen every 5 mins and sends it to your manager. If you’re on the same screen for too long or if you’re away, you’ll get scolded for “not working”. Caduceus worry so much about what the regular employees are doing on the computer, yet they allow their supervisors and managers talk bad about clients. YES, managers have spoken negatively with profanities about their clients openly in weekly meetings. 
Work life flexibility does not exist. Your manager and HR will get on your behind if you do not clock in and out on time. There’s no OT available no matter how much work there is to do.
As I said earlier, caduceus acts as a temp agency and contracts with healthcare facilities for billing needs. But these healthcare facilities are dropping caduceus, which causes caduceus to constantly lay off people. So if you’re looking to retire with caduceus, then do NOT do it! They do not take care of their employees. You’re just a number to them.
One more thing. They no longer hire outside of the east coast and/or eastern time zone. 


Caduceus is a great company to work for, they offer work life balance. As of mom of 3 young school aged children, I am able to work my full time schedule and still be able to meet the needs of my children. Working from home has never been this exciting. I started out on the Patient Accounts team 08/2022 and has since then been promoted to Benefit Investigation Specialist. The company has provided me an opportunity to grow and promote my skills and experience internally. I work with some of the greatest leaders (managers, team leaders and associates). While everyone that I work with are at home and in different states and cities all around the world, it feels like we have worked and known each other for a long period of time. The culture of people are phenomenal. The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to work full time from home in my pjs and being able to be hands on with my children before school and after school.
Compensation is also great at Caduceus, I also look forward to learning and growing and continuing to expand my knowledge and skills with them.


The job is not always easy with a high paced client. However, it is rewarding and gives many oprotunites for growth in knowledge. The management team is understanding and compassionate with work/life balance. During a tragic personal time in my  life, my management team allowed me to take the time necessary to take care of my family. During my time with Caduceus, I have been promoted a couple of times. Caduceus offers management training courses through ADP that have elevated my way of thinking in my Lead role. This company is focused on growth for anyone that shows intrest and leadership abilities. Highly recommend working for Caduceus. The HR team and upper management is wonderful and fully transparent. Even though we are working remotely, you still have open communication and transparency with the whole team. 

This was a new department, and I was excited, but it quickly went downhill.  I would complete my work and would ask for more work only to my dismay that they would reprimand me for having nothing to do. The manager would LIE on work that was completed by others and says that 'they' had actually completed the work.  It was no actual training but would tell you that you were not doing the work correctly. If you voiced your opinion on an issue, there was backlash from upper management. It was lack of communication from what lower-level employees were stating to what upper management was comprehending.  The department started off very well, but it was so much confusion on what needed to be done that the employees were frustrated.

This review is strictly for management of my department at Caduceus. Other than that, I love my job and the nature of what I do. My coworkers are wonderful people who have helped me not totally lose it in this toxic atmosphere. Unfortunately, the recent run ins I’ve had with management have left a sour taste in my mouth and as a result, I am seriously considering my permanence in this company. I hate jumping from job to job but this situation is leaving me no choice. There is no guidance, no direction, no sense of support, and no words of encouragement for a job well done other than piling on more work. And don’t get me started on
the micromanaging. Managers cover for one another and couldn’t care less that your plate is already overflowing before assigning more work with new deadlines, so you are pretty much on your own. Not worth the aggravation. Look elsewhere. 

I enjoy my job at CaduceusHealth.  I've learned a lot and I appreciate how they continue to grow the Team as the company also grows. They focus on hiring within when new opportunities become available and especially as they restructure departments as they onboard new clients.  The work is challenging in terms of working with the payers but the resources are provided so we can show up every day and excel at our jobs.  The overall workplace culture is one that focuses on work -life balance.  The benefits are great.  The President holds quarterly Town Hall meetings with all associates to keep us in the loop on the current "state of the union" but also to let us know about potential new business opportunities to keep us employed.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
lunch and breaks.. there were a few good people. These individuals were not in management.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
dealing with management was horrifying.. Most of management was all over the country. They had no personal relationships with their staff.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Over 95% work from home. The culture is like vultures 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, walking on pins and needles. You don't know if you are going to be fired because management woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

I've been with Caduceus Health for almost four years.  It's my first WFH position (hired during pandemic), and I've been very happy here.  I've found excellent communication across the board, from management to HR to my teammates.  I work in Patient Accounts and our management structure works hard to highlight personal strengths in individuals.  They've built a tight team with this department and we work well together.  There are ample opportunities for advancement if desired, and training is excellent and ongoing.

Depending on which manager or team lead you are assigned to, working here could be great or bad or just in-between. You might get managers with no clear direction and will fault for it. The lack of a quality assurance team will automatically make that manager the judge, jury, and executioner. First team lead was ok. Second team lead amazing, supportive, and didn’t bother you as long as you do your job. Finally third manager with the team lead were the worst with frequent meetings that were heavily critical/non-constructive and constant micromanagement.
