Having been in the social services department for over 10 years, I can easily say that this building has compassion and truly cares about the staff, residents and families we work with. Obviously no job is perfect, we struggle at times like any other business. Point is we keep our heads high and get through it… 
Most managers are team players and will often come help the halls pass trays, answer phones, help dining room pass, and pick up shifts… yes, there are a few that do very little in terms of getting up out of their office, coming down to the halls to help but every business has those few.. they know who they are!! 
The CNAs who work the halls are so wonderful. They truly take the time to get to know each resident and are always eager to learn more about how to do their jobs better. 
The front office are always up and out working one on one with families and residents. 
The activities department is amazing. Always looking for new ideas. 
The residents appear happy and overall healthy. 
It’s an old building that could certainly use a face lift, I’m told that’s coming… 
I have been to other buildings and in all honesty Ivy Court in CDA is the best. Not perfect but potential to be great…

This job was easily the most stressful jobs I've had, and I've been in the workforce for over 40 years. There has been a high rate of turnover within the past few years and it's easy to understand why. Local staff is overworked and under appreciated by corporate. I started my position after it had been vacant for several months and was expected to immediately get caught up on all current and past due tasks, all without proper training. Towards the end of my time with the company, I was getting told by local management that I was one of the best people they have ever had in my position while simultaneously being placed on a personal improvement plan from corporate (even though I was apparently doing my job well enough to be just shy of being eligible for a bonus - even without ever being fully trained on how to do my job). I truly feel as if the company is structured to make people fail at their jobs, which is disheartening. 

Almost all of my coworkers are friendly and helpful. Management is friendly and helpful.  Once you've been working here for a while it's like family.  We have potlucks about once a month. We're able to make our own schedules, only requirement is that you schedule yourself for two weekends out of the month to prevent being short-staffed.  Responsive housekeeping and maintenance staff. The most difficult part of the job is getting some of the nurses to listen to concerns regarding residents. It's an older building so 2/5 shower rooms are inoperable. We do run low on linen due to issues in laundry. A couple of our mechanical lifts are hard to move, but we do have two brand new hoyers that are great. If you have no experience no worries, we have CNA classes with an amazing teacher.  I would recommend working here to anyone interested. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Most of the residents were friendly and caring. As well as most of the coworkers. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
This company did not have CNA coverage for a wing which made it difficult at times to complete your tasks. The nurse not only had to complete med passes, but also shower residents, make beds, tidy rooms, help with ADL’s, help with ambulating, dressing, wound care, and changing of residents. When you are alone, it was very stressful and difficult to complete. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Upper management could be very stressful, condescending, and rude.  Nice to your face, and talk about you behind your back.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
STRESS! Stress! Stress! Run your butt off with no help!

This company has been the absolute worst. From low pay to not paying out PTO when our building got a new owner. (They stated it's not in the policy, but also told us they *would* pay it out before they sold our building*. And never did.
Highest turnover rate I've seen with companies I have worked for. Promising bonuses for picking up shifts and not paying them out. Offering referral bonuses and not paying them out. Upper management never seemed appreciative of floor staff working longer hours. When someone in upper management was mad the whole building could feel the negative energy. 
I also got signed off for a yearly raise by the DON for $.63 and it got denied by the CEO, so that was never given. I would never work for Caldera Care again.

I work in central admissions, typical day consists of paperwork and phone calls/ admitting patients. My supervisor is extremely kind and pleasant, very flexible with personal life needs, and overall such a great person. The other ladies we work with are incredible as well, very friendly and supportive. Some of the days are stressful, as any health care job can be, but the culture in this office is very positive and encouraging so it is easier to handle things when it gets stressful. The hardest part is people/ patients/ families that are difficult to work with. Most enjoyable part is reviewing patients. I really like it here overall, will not be going anywhere anytime soon. ☺️ 

I was treated by the company and all management/regional management treated me like I was a permanent staff member. I was supported by ED and regional nurse for all aspects of my decisions and suggestions. Non and licensed nursing and all staff should be held accountable to all job duties to be documented , start time and being leaders in there position. All negative attitudes or job duties/decisions should be investigated/addressed immediately for accountability.

Benefits are not worth it. 
PTO bank is a mixed bank of vacation and sick time. So if you use your vacation hours and then get sick you won’t have any PTO left. The PTO is accumulated very slowly. 
The health insurance offered isn’t accepted very many places and the dr.s Who do accept it, aren’t taking new patients. 
They want you to clock out for break and there is write ups if you don’t take a break, but often especially on late shifts it’s not possibly to take an uninterrupted break so I often work off the clock. 
Management changes frequently and therefore at times it can be confusing and frustrating as to what is expected of the aids. 

Caldera Care is a very supportive and family-oriented company. They genuinely care about their employees and the quality care that their buildings and employees provide. Management/Corporate is always responsive and communicating with all levels of care staff to ensure they have the support they need. From an employee standpoint, they are truly appreciated and recognized for the hard work and dedication provided to the buildings. Anytime anything is needed, it's addressed. It's a great feeling to know you work for someone who has your back and cares about you for who you are as a person, not just an employee.
