The residents are well cared for, that’s the only thing I can that’s positive about this facility. 2 resident aids and I supervisor to 68 residents on nights is what ran me out. I hurt my back, had a breakdown due to the lack of support, I rarely called in and when I did I told the RCD I needed a mental health day. Her response was “ we all need a mental health day and I need you here”. I quit the following week. The staff was full of lazy workers  that offered little assistance and if your new be prepared to be thrown into situations where you will be left alone for hours, training is mediocre at best, raises will be months late and you will be forced to find coverage should you need to call in due to personal emergencies. They only care about filling rooms. They have a permanent Help Wanted sign outside the facility and theres a troubling reason why. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I was able to connect with most of the residents and workers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I personally wasn’t scheduled properly in my opinion. There were many times I would be scheduled six days in a row the have a day off and then work one day and have my weekend off.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was a friendly environment for the most part however there were people who made working a bit stressful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
First shift is very fast paced and there were days you didn’t sit down for hours at a time. Second shift was slower paced and you would have hours to sit down.

worked here for 4 years and it was the most disfunctional, messy management experience i’ve ever worked in. over worked the good employees, poor staffing, and praised the bad/lazy employees. they don’t care about your mental health/ outside life of work. management will constantly give out empty promises and barely listens to the care staff. they have the “looks perfect on the outside” look, but horrible management on the inside. i would not let my family members live here. 

I loved my job at Cambrian, I worked with a great team most days ( when the drama starters and bad employees were off)  for the most part especially with the nurses  RCS and caregiver knew they had our backs they would help us and educate us when needed. Down side: Director  and owner allowed there scheduler and a particular CG run off several  wonderful RCS and Care staff several things were brought to there attention and they always sided with them.

I've been with Cambrian Senior Living for almost 10 years now.  I started as a Resident Aide and was promoted from within.  There is a lot of opportunity for growth in the company and they set you up for success. Being Family Owned and Operated has a huge impact on our working environment.  We work as a team and support one another as a family.  I always feel as though I have a voice and we don't have to work our way up the corporate ladder to be heard.  It's honestly the best working environment, and I feel blessed to be apart of the team!

Great environment until you get down to management they say they will handle important staffing issues and nothing ever gets handled. Trying to understand why certain types of people work at this place after so many chances are given is the biggest question i always had especially as a person who cares so much about the residents at this facility

Where do I start; the Resident Care Director starts drama between day shift and night shift staff, then will lie to your face about any and everything! She’s controlling and will not give you your raises like she’s suppose to. Very unfair treatment at Cambrian South Lyon. They are also low key races but will try to hide it. The staff members act like little kids! It feels like a high school in there! I love my residents though that’s about the only good thing I can say about the place! 

The teamwork at Cambrian is our greatest asset.  Our jobs are so rewarding and fulfills my purpose in a great environment.  I enjoy coming to work everyday.  We care for Seniors as if they were our own family.  We find the joy in everyday moments and lift each other up throughout the day.  I wouldn't want to work anywhere else.  

Always short staffed, sometimes the only one on the floor, they reward the lazy people and overlook hard workers. Management is always around and the owners are very involved. You have to sit whenever you can because there are no breaks. A lot of 2 person assists for an assisted living facility. They will hire anyone so staff is always changing.

slow paced sometimes depending where you’re at, lots of drama but also good coworkers. the pay sucks and it always has. it’s pretty easy to get used to but training is very weird on how they do it
