My experience at CCSF was very stressful. The overall work environment had a significant impact on my well being to the point, I started having health problem on a daily. The work environment became increasingly difficult to manage with constant attacks pretending to be work performance concerns. Just imagine coming into a workplace with a positive attitude, respect among peers, and an open mind set to learn and collaborate. What initially seemed like a manageable workflow environment evolved into one with heightened scrutiny, frequent interruptions, and limited support from direct leadership. 

The scrutiny heightened, after raising concern to HR on how to address a situation with a current leader. Immediately after seeking insight the next day, I was given PIP. That same period, the upper leader was dismissive about my concerns and revoked my established hybrid role to require that I transition to a fully onsite schedule despite health problems that was more manageable working hybrid. This became another challenge I had to experienced with HR. After submitting an accommodation request related to my medical condition and completion from my provider on their required accommodation form, there were delays in receiving a determination and they prolong the process with a long list of follow up requests for my provider even with an emergency request for accommodation during that the time to address my current health problem. 

During the transition onsite, there were no structured training and no leadership presence to support the adjustment as they claimed on my PIP. Meanwhile, pharmacy leaders continued to operate under hybrid arrangements for their benefits. There were continuous daily meetings to find opportunities to continue to build a negative narrative about me. It was to the point the pharmacy leader would consistently look for any cases to use as incompetencies in my clinical judgement or workflow process. Keep in mind, each cases were never the same, despite you seeing a new disease state on a daily and being to the role with no formal training. It was impossible to ask questions or any clarifications. The pharmacy leaders would never took into consideration the many positive outcomes or appeals/PA you approved. Not every case you touch can be overturned and they have experienced this as well. Any opportunity, they could use against you from clinical decision to processes, they used that power. If the process was always A before B, they’ll say the process is B before A and documented it as a concern on your performance and say you did not follow clinical process. Also, the leader would consistently make you await on their supervisory review on the appeals or process to intentionally impact timeline on review decisions to say you delayed patient treatment.  The leader would often communicate with the techs daily to see what information they could use as a concern of delegation of tasks or misguidance on performance. 

Communication practices were often excessive and disruptive, including repeated back-to-back messages, which  would often impacted workflow and focus. It also became challenging to seek clarification or guidance without concern that questions would later be viewed negatively rather than as part of normal clinical collaboration. 

Another experience to highlight about this workplace, when seeking guidance from leadership during periods of absence of my direct supervisor, responses were very dismissive, making it difficult to ensure alignment on my expectations. As someone working in an oncology place, consistent and supportive training was not a factor here.

Based on my experience, they use PIP process that appeared to function more as a pathway to separation rather than a structured opportunity for improvement. The level of pressure, communication intensity, and lack of consistent support created a highly stressful atmosphere that, at times, felt overwhelming. In healthcare settings, where focus and accuracy are critical, it is important that workplace practices support both employee well-being and sustainable performance. This workplace does not deliver that especially knowing a past employee felt suicidal due to similar circumstances in this workplace. My mental state mattered more than anything. Never in my 20 years in pharmacy, I experienced working in a toxic environment like this place. 

My experience at this organization was challenging due to the workplace culture and lack of communication. The environment does not feel like an open-door culture, and concerns raised by staff are often not addressed. Management tends to support one another rather than objectively reviewing issues brought forward by employees, which can make it difficult to feel heard.

The workplace atmosphere can also be uncomfortable at times due to rude or dismissive behavior from some staff members. Collaboration between departments could be improved, and the overall operational structure often feels disorganized.

Additionally, interactions with some providers can feel discouraging for new or unfamiliar team members, as communication and acknowledgement are not there. Instead of focusing on mentorship and growth to help you become better, feedback sometimes centers primarily on mistakes rather than constructive guidance.

This was it. This was going to be my very last job. I was going to retire there. Sadly it didn’t take me long to realize that wasn’t true and then to wonder exactly how long I was going to even make it. As a long time nurse and hired as a clinical nurse manager, I reported to a 20 something with absolutely no clinical oncology experience. If I reported something that was extremely important, she would dismiss it because she didn’t understand how important it was. In some cases, it was a matter of patient safety concerns. But this 20 something just wanted to walking around and chat with some and just ignore others. The disrespect, despite working so hard and bringing in the company substantial revenue was more than I was willing to tolerate. Although I knew I could have been successful there, the lead physician was absolutely NEVER available to even address the problems. So I saved us all some time and resigned.

CCSF is a highly innovative and fast growing Oncology/Hematology practice, which is recently affiliated with Tampa General Hospital to form the Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute. The physicians and clinical teams are amazing and provide a deeper level of care for patients from what I have seen at other cancer centers. The administrative teams both in the clinics and back office go the extra mile for our patients to help with their care clinically and financially. The culture is very collaborative and operates more like a family due to the nature of oncology and the pieces of a patient's care needing to fit together.

The clinical triage, the time we take with the patient.

Some diagnosis because when they need to come more than two section per week.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Monday to Friday. From 8:00- 500

great place to work as far as job security goes (literal revolving door of employees). decent pay. great providers! major downside is management. the managers are not trained to manage. all they do is the minimum required to cover themself. they put on a good front as if they care but when theyre needed they are nowhere to be found or extremely useless in solving the issue at hand. Only dept thats safe is the nurses. front desk and MAs are extremely overlooked and undervalued

A typical work day can be from 7.5 hours to 9 hours depending on work load. There are opportunities to learn something new on a daily basis. The workplace culture is on which places emphasis on patient priority, safety, and patient care. The hardest part of the job is working with distressed family members who are usually caring for the patient. It is very satisfying to know that I made a difference in a person's life.

Horrible management is horrible/HR only sides with Supervisors. Constantly throwing each other under the bus . Employees who have been with the company for a long time are rude and disrespectful to new employees and nothing is done. Place started out great but Management is rude no proper training. Gossip and puts down employees behind their backs. Don't go to this company it's a waste of time and energy 

This place has no sense of unity. The managers are disrespectful, they are quick to through you under the bus. The workload is heavy expectations are not realistic. They say there is an open door policy but it's all a setup. Everything that is said in private will be used against you by management. The pay is good $22 for start off if you have experience Pharmacy Technician Specialist 

I enjoy working closely with the providers and the patients. There is always something new  happening. Great culture and supportive environment. Working here has inspired to continue my education.  Room for growth is a plus.
