Ive worked here for a while now and can say that I genuinely love my job. There’s been some bumps in the road along the way but nothing I couldn’t talk out with my team or managers to fix. Love that I get one on one patient care, it’s rewarding. Started at a low position and moved up, so there’s definitely opportunities for advancement. I’ve learned a lot from my managers past and current. Good compensation for pay, highest mileage reimbursement I’ve seen. Job is flexible with no micromanaging. Benefits are good, 401k with matching. They worked with my school schedule too. First place I’ve worked that I feel heard, not a number but a person. Very close team environment that you can trust. Would recommend this place to any of my friends. 

In office management was good; however, upper management was all about profitability and productivity.  My impression from exposure to the owner and upper management in my field was they could care less about patient care or professional ethics.  They emphasize productivity, coding for maximum reimbursement and turning/burning billing as fast a possible.  I was once told I should never discharge a patient within the first certification period, which is ridiculous for most post-op ortho patients.  My local clinical managers and coworkers were excellent and got by with ignoring a lot of the directives from upper management.  I would not recommend this company.

Verifying insurance, answering phone calls and inputting patients.This company offers no flexibility to dedicated employees.pursuing school. They were flexible with family related employees school schedules,and much more strict with those who weren't. Also, it seemed that training and mentoring was given to these employees as well. Therefore, management didn't support employees eager to learn and grow with the company. The hardest part of the job was not being appreciated especially when I often stayed late to process patients in the system and not get compensated for overtime. In addition, they didn't invest in developing my skill set necessary to be successful at my job position.

This company has a extreme lack of communicating between management and co workers. Therapy will discharge patients from therapy and not let nursing staff know. Management will know about admits and not tell you until the day they need the admissions done. Making it impossible to plan your day. Don't expect to have time during the week to do anything else and/or your weekends off you will most likely be spending figuring out your case load for the next week or catching up on charting. Want a vacation? Find your own coverage to see all your patients. Only home health company I have worked for that makes you find coverage for your vacations.

This company treats their employees as valued and equal members of the team.  Every single person is respected and validated, which is incredibly important as we all have families, lives, interests, and individuality both inside and outside the workplace.  The support, encouragement, and care from leadership to all members of the team is evident and consistent.  I truly do not see myself leaving this team and company as I know I am exactly where I belong and where my work, as well as my life’s journey, is not only supported but encouraged and impactful.  Sincerely, Canyon is a wonderful employer and service provider in our community. 

Canyon will tell you that they are different and hold themselves to higher standards, but that is not true; they may be the worst of any company around. They say they expect more of the people on their team, but that is only the ones they can take advantage of. 

Corporate is never around and you can't even get ahold of them. The bosses sit in their offices, if they decide to show up that day. You can't find help if you need it and they only document the things you do wrong. 

The pay is low, resources are low, expectations are high. Management is manipulative. They play mind games, they will set you up for failure just to laugh when you crash and burn. They expect you to work unpaid after hours and will gaslight you into doubting your skills and intelligence when you get overwhelmed. Patient care is an afterthought, the patients will be used as a pawn against you. I’d be terrified to have a family member admitted under their service. 

I have been in hospice work for close to 10 years, and can honestly say Canyon Home Care and Hospice is a rarity. It’s a well oiled machine. Team members are valued, which in turn allows for patient centered and focused care. Everyone works together and supports one another. Administration listen’s and care’s. Work and home life balance exists, when you are done with your day… you really have the opportunity to have be done.

Unlike other home health places I can get ahold of my boss pretty easily

Overall
There is no paper charting and management is pretty responsive. Have been with them for a while and had no big problems that weren’t fixed right away. Better than working for some other home health places I’ve experienced
