Please if you are a professional, hard worker looking for career opportunity do not apply with this company. Do not believe the lies they tell you about how great the company is and how they are growing, etc. There is no support here. I was hired and stayed way too long expecting improvement. Other departments take advantage of staff. Senior Management fire the best, professional people and keep the unprofessional, bad attitudes, poor customer service, no education, low work ethic people because they are hired with cheap pay. Senior management is more concerned about numbers and not quality. There's high turnover. People who are unqualified are promoted into positions they are not competent to run because of who they know on with Board or within organization. Its not what you know with this company, its who you know! Some staff have been with the company for years and are congratulated but they have poor customer service, rude, poor work ethic, unprofessional but they "kiss up to management and CEO. CEO constantly states at meetings how all staff are replaceable and never acknowledges the work of staff.There are no incentives for staff. Everyone is overworked, and underpaid and expected to take on multiple job responsibilities. There is no job security.

This workplace felt unprofessional and poorly managed. Gossip was widespread across the office, including among HR staff, which created an uncomfortable and untrustworthy environment. Leadership appeared to lack appropriate boundaries, and overall professionalism at the executive level was concerning.

Management practices were questionable, and communication often felt indirect or deceptive. Certain team members in key roles were unreliable, which placed additional strain on others and negatively affected daily operations.

After I resigned, I experienced behavior from leadership that I found intimidating and inappropriate, to the point that I no longer felt safe. This was extremely distressing and reinforced my decision to leave.

Pay was below industry standards, and the work environment felt toxic rather than supportive. There were also serious safety concerns, including an OSHA complaint related to improper handling of a bloodborne pathogen exposure incident involving a provider.

Overall, my experience was deeply negative. I would strongly encourage prospective employees to thoroughly research this workplace and proceed with caution.

CAHN (pronounced as con) is just what its abbreviated name is a "con"! This place has the most unprofessional people there from the CEO to the minions at the bottom. I have to say that during my time there the medical personnel (doctors, physician assistants and nurses) were very nice considering the totalitarian they work for.

 I worked for a community outreach program which has probably gone under since I left. A typical day consisted of an incompetent manager sending numerous emails about tasks needing to be completed then arguing with you if everything can't be completed or if completed doesn't meet the standards that weren't set. Management for the program I worked for was a joke! The manager then was promoted out of default from being that last team member from the last crew of workers. The only thing I enjoyed about this job was meeting new participants. Some of them I still see around when I'm out and about. Otherwise this is the worst job ever. Stay away only if you desperately need employment and/or desire a migrane daily.

I worked at CAHN for 7 years and it started off great, but now it is terrible, most of the work falls on the CMA as they are understaffed and improperly trained. PLEASE if you are looking to work in pediatrics LOOK anywhere else. There is no Overall Standard of training here. EVERYONE does it "their way". The nurse manager is very cool and great, but some of the clinical mangers as TERRIBLE and barley are able to assist in any actual clinical setting. There is no uniformity in supplies so if you learn something at one facility, it is not guaranteed to be the same at the next. They typically offer a 1-3% raise which let's be honest is barley 100 dollars after taxes. They operate with a motto that anyone can be replaced. they will only give you a minimally decent raise if you threaten to quit. As an CMA you are responsible for referrals, triage, telephone encounters, labs, vaccines, scanning and whatever else they decide to dictate to you. Save yourself the strife and go somewhere else. even if you are a new CMA, KNOW YOUR WORTH BECAUSE THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT HERE. and there is nepotism ALL OVER.

On December 9th, 2024, I began my employment with CAHN, completing a comprehensive onboarding and training program. Despite facing hostility from colleagues for asking questions or needing assistance, I remained dedicated to learning and mastering my job.

However, my time at CAHN was unexpectedly cut short when I was called to an all-staff meeting at the southside location on January 31st, 2025 at 10:30 am. I was abruptly and nonchalantly notified of a mass layoff, impacting over half of the company's employees. No advance notice, severance package, or explanation was provided.

The sudden termination resulted in significant hardship, leaving me without compensation or adequate time to explore new job opportunities. Moreover, I have yet to receive instructions on returning company property. The short duration of my employment also renders me ineligible for unemployment benefits, further complicating my apartment move.

CAHN's handling of the layoff was unprofessional and lacked transparency.

Great place to work with an opportunity of advance for the most part you always can count on your co worker if help or advice needed related to the job. they offer transportation and that is a plus because they is a lot of older patient that cant drive to their medical appointment's. lunches and break are good and lunch room are very clean good microwaves and refrigerator to keep your food  and drinks      manager always open to listened and suggestion. overall is a good place to work also they always looking out for the safe of patient and employs during bad whether nurses and provider are always concern about patient necessity also patient advocacy  is always available for any concern patient have HR is open for employs concerns overall capitol area health net work is a good place for work and advances if you are willing to work and learn, they offer the opportunities

I feel that Capital Area Health Network is a wonderful place for the community of Richmond.  The Health and Dental clinics are a light in the community for people who can not afford health or dental care for themselves or their families.  My role is to adjust the patients dental accounts according to their income status.  Grant money allows HIV/AIDS patients to receive free dentistry.  I post all dental payments from patient nominal fee, personal payments, grant money and private insurance companies.

One thing that happened while I was working in the office, was during the winter months, I went to the ladies restroom and found a homeless woman in there trying to keep warm.  That was really sad for me.

This place is massively unprofessional. I’ve worked at some pretty unprofessional places but this place takes the cake. They do not care about their employees unless it’s the providers or nursing staff. Management is a joke, they hold no knowledge on how to perform the duties they assign to you and are constantly changing police’s to appease the providers with disregard to how it impacts patient care. Management tells you one thing, but when they get called out on something being wrong they throw their own employees under the bus as if they weren’t following the direct orders that were given to them. They log you out of all servers before they even tell you they are firing you, so any email trail you would need for unemployment you can’t again access to

The patients that need a little more attention the elderly. And some of the doctors are so sweet. Overall this company does alot for the community
