What is the best part of working at the company?
I've been with Care Dimensions for over eight years now and have found the culture of our company to be positive, encouraging and supportive. Working in hospice, palliative care and bereavement takes a particular toll on all of us in this field. Having the compassionate support of our management and programs in place to help us stay healthy, motivated and happy in caring for our minds, bodies and souls makes all the difference.  I tell everyone that I work with the greatest people in the world and I do!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The stress I feel is not from my work or from Care Dimensions, but from my commute on Rte. 128!  Otherwise, I love working here and do not feel any stress at all, but a strong feeling of being supportive, accomplishment and for providing support to our patients and families at the most difficult times in their lives: End of Life.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very supportive, compassionate and professional. We all work together to face the challenges of our work and caseload. I admit that I am a bit of a "cheerleader" for our organization because I believe in our mission and in the people I work for and with.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I am a Bereavement Counselor/Coordinator and see or speak with on average five to 10 clients a day. My Manager is very supportive and attentive to all of us on the Bereavement Team, doing everything in her power to make sure we are not burning ourselves out and practicing good self-care. What I believe makes Care Dimensions stand out in the hospice field is that all of our Managers and 90% of our Senior Management are all caregivers: Nurses and Doctors who have actual patient care experience and who inspire confidence and loyalty in our staff because we all know our Managers have done what we are doing in the field and truly understand the unique stresses and challenges we all face.

Left CD almost a year ago after working as an RN case manager for 3+ years.  I love hospice work and CD does a great job providing exceptional hospice care but it is at the expense of their fabulous staff.  All RNs are salaried 40 hour/week positions but we all worked closer to 50-60 hours per week when all was said and done, with never even one extra hour of OT.  And forget trying to leave early one afternoon if you'd already put in above and beyond your 40 hours - they were so short staffed that if management saw you had spare time on your schedule, they'd fill you right up with extra visits and you'd end up working even more hours than you wanted.  Terrible work-life balance; often went home and had to decide between cooking dinner for my family or do I finish up all my notes.  At one point I applied for another position in the office and was told I was a great candidate but I didn't get the job because I had mentioned that being out in the field was very busy.  I left not long after that.  Also, the territories are horrendous - it seems that someone who is not from this area must have put the territories together because Merrimac is not anywhere close to Chelmsford, however they are part of the same territory and I had patients in both towns at the same time.  And the whole Best Places to Work thing - don't be fooled - that was a survey that all of the employees filled out last year and it's based on things like salary and benefits.  Definitely isn't based on what it's actually like to work there.

Not sure where to even begin. This company had a lot of potential pre-covid. But due to Severe financial losses, poor Executive leadership, “Old School” ideology, & outdated systems/procedures the company is drastically going down. Layoffs, budget cuts, and abysmal personal/communication skills from managers and executive leadership Plague the company like a disease. Within the last year they have gone from 4 office locations to just 1, with their Waltham office completely shutdown due to the mismanagement of funds and projects. Working in the IT department has allowed me to see both behind the scenes and front lines of the nursing/executive workforce within the company. The biggest issues from the IT side is the severely outdated hardware, software, and procedures. Projects are constantly set by IT leaders without basic understanding of needs of the company or the way the technology interacts with the ecosystem which result in almost every major project either failing, getting pushed back by months, or cancelled all together. The IT team is small and is overworked with only 3 techs supporting roughly 700 employees on a 24/7 basis with on call. No standard or Service level agreements are in place to establish policy which leaves supporting users a free for all. I WOULD NOT suggest working here if you are younger and are looking for IT work.  

Supportive company, but very poor training for admissions.

Nice people to work with, but administration has no idea what working in the field requires.

Management makes u think it is you before they fix it.

Confusing and unclear expectations all the time.

 >You are expected to know what to do in every different place they send you-but they do not give you the information.

They cannot keep admission nurses for a reason.

Employee Benefits are horrible. The do ot tell u until after u are hired. You need to spend 3,000 before co-pays kick-in.

>You are not compansated for the amout of hours you actually work. An 11a-7p(8hr)day is really a 9am-12midnight(15hour)day. 

>IF you want NO LIFE, to NEVER see your family, like to spend hours driving from Cambridge to Cape Ann on 128 traffic in a single day, and You cannot get along with coworker(like to work alone)-this is the job for you!

Celebrating my one-year anniversary at Care Dimensions has given me a chance to reflect on how grateful I am to be part of this team.

From day one, I’ve felt supported by leadership and trusted with the creative freedom to bring content to life in meaningful ways. In my role, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with so many incredible people across the organization.

What stands out most about Care Dimensions is the shared commitment to compassionate care. It’s not just a marketing message—it’s something that is genuinely lived every day. Having had a close family member receive hospice care from Care Dimensions this year, I experienced firsthand the comfort and support it provided to my family during an incredibly difficult time. It reinforced just how meaningful the care is that our organization provides to patients and their families. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Clinical staff are competent, loving and committed to their patients even at the expense of their own health and well-being.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of administrative concerns for the safety of their hospice house staff. The absence of management from Friday afternoon to Monday morning leaving staff to manage and handle any and all crisis situations.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Decent in the hospice house as staff look out for each other. Not so in the overall organization. Too woke- reflected in the misguided attempts at subjecting staff to DEI initiatives.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Allowed to operate without micro-managing.

I work four ten hour shifts as an Admission Liaison based out of a hospital and it has been a breath of fresh air from bed-side nursing. I can still have rapport with patient's and their families while preparing them to go home for their final days. I feel like I have any questions I can always get an answer quickly. The orientation time was about three months and even if I didn't feel prepared, I could have communicated that and they would have accommodated.  
I think the hardest part of this job is trying to work with the case managers at the hospital sites as they are very busy. I believe they're experience some high-turn over rates where sometimes the case managers will put in referrals that aren't appropriate. 

So happy I came to work here, I get work with a group of dedicated people who are in it for the right reasons. Beautiful work environment at the Lincoln Hospice House and I am very well compensated. The work is hard with complex end of life patients and families but I continue to learn new ways to palliate from a skilled group of respectful and collegial medical professionals. I feel appreciated by my manager, coworkers and patient's and families. The work is very meaningful and this is a great place to learn about hospice as the orientation is extensive and you always have other nurses and physicians to ask questions and get help on site when needed.

I have worked at Care Dimensions as a field nurse for about a year and a half. I have felt supported every single day I've worked, both by my direct manager, on-call managers and colleagues. Everyone who works here gives it their all to ensure the patients get the best possible care. Every job has it's challenges and Care Dimensions is by no means perfect but I feel they fully support their staff to provide the exceptional care our patients expect and deserve. I am a salaried RN but I am able to complete my work  in the time I'm scheduled and feel I'm paid fairly for my work. This specialty is definitely not for everyone; it takes a certain person to enjoy hospice care but I have surely found my niche here.
