What is the best part of working at the company?
Being able to work with clients with TBI’s and having a team of other professionals to help.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working with clients with TBI because they are unpredictable and can outbursts of anger. They also have a tendency to be physically aggressive and violent without warning. It doesn’t help that management wants you to participate in activities with these clients that has nothing to do with your position in the company and often requires you to do things outside of your scope of practice. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very much a typical high school atmosphere. Very click-ish after you get settled in and can observe how everyone interacts. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It can very, as a massage therapist, all I can do is be available for their schedule sessions. If they refuse, you can’t make them. They can become agitated and violent if they feel threatened or forced to do something they don’t want to. Management is supposed to intervene with the behavioral health department, but they pressure you to try and “convince” them. I am not a trained mental health professional, this is out of my scope of expertise and I wasn’t hired to function as such.

Typical work day at Care First is long  but rewarding. I’ve learned patience and understanding for  clients with TBI injuries the only thing I don’t like about management is they treat you disposable when the problem is great staff doesn’t come to easy they should value who they have. The work place culture is very diverse from the clients to the staff. The hardest part about the job is the long hours. The most enjoyable part about the job is knowing your walking out the door and have just given each and every client all the time pathetic understanding and genuine love you had in you that day and they received it with open arms.

At first I thought I had found the perfect job, but it was short lived. The owners do not understand the nature of reimbursement in the business they are in. When dealing with adverse feeling towards an employee or an employee's performance they prefer to hide behind a computer instead of dealing with the employee face to face. They also tend to get other employee's involved in situations that are outside of the scope of their employment. If you are looking for long term employment I highly recommend you look somewhere else as they are very indecisive and you could be jobless without due notice. I have never worked for a more unprofessional company in my life and wasted my knowledge and expertise on a company that can't see past their bottom line regardless of the effort an employee has given them. Just Steer Clear!

They do not need "Direct Care Workers" they need house maids. 90% of your job is cleaning over things that have been cleaned/organized already. Some housekeeping is expected with group/home care but the cleaning they expect you to do is not worth the pay. If you have license or other qualifications in the medical field they don't do any justice with the position because you'll mainly be cleaning especially night shift workers. The care section of the job itself is not hard at all but the title of the position is basically false advertising. You can't leave for your break not even to sit in your car if it's parked out front. 

Carefirst is a place that you can grow, not only as a person but also in your field your passionate about and want to grow in. It's a fun, laid back environment to be in but also know you have to work to make sure our clients are taken care of and is safe. This company is very flexible with your schedule and gives good benefits. This honestly the first company in this field that I've work in that I feel can be very understanding. The job mainly involves with us all working as a team and completing the tasks that is given to us. As long as you coming in doing what you supposed to do it should never be any issues. I really enjoy working at Carefirst. 

I've worked at Care First for over 2 years now and have seen so much growth and expansion from both the company and many of the employees.  Care First has allowed their staff; in particular their therapist to work in the realm of non traditional approaches to help the clients achieve optimal outcomes by being creative, innovative in our treatment modalities' which permits our clients to thrive out in the community with real life experiences.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
My team was amazing. Hard working, not afraid of making errors, cohesive, and eager to learn. Leading them was a privilege. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being in a Compliance position, when a company is so far out of compliance, takes more than 90 days. This company will never be the "industry leader" they claim to strive for, as long as they are so comfortable being out of compliance. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Unprofessional. People are generally helpful, but this is not a typical corporate environment. High degree of nepotism and favoritism.

I have been in the field for a while and this company is by far, the absolute best! Their model of care is gold standard. I love that patient needs and care are a daily priority, I love the support shown to the staff! I love the cultural diversity and work culture at this company! Everyone works, even the owners work to provide wraparound support for the patients. I 'll even say for the staff also. In today's world, its a rarity to be able to see and talk to an company's owner! It's usually a automated recording, but these owners show up and answer, in real time!!!! 

A typical day at work is full of laughter. What I have learned is how to care for certain injuries and how much of a family we are. Management is very good they are always on top of everything and are very involved. The workplace culture is friendly and caring but also get things done very professional. The hardest part of the job is the long days but they do go by fast since everyone is usually on the go. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you create bonds with the clients and the staff. 

This company needs to close down . There is no job security there, they lack professionalism, and by far the worst company I’ve worked for. They don’t allow you to call off if there’s an emergency. They make you clean up as if you applied for a janitorial position. Breaks aren’t always given. Any underlying conditions the clients have, the do not disclose that to you, putting you at risk for what the have. They don’t have no respect for their employees. With the side eye and sarcastic remarks, at the end of your shift, you better hope you still have job. January 2023 they are now providing benefits. This is an embarrassment to even call it CARE FIRST .
