The company in the beginning makes you feel very welcomed.  You don’t realize you are entering into a toxic relationship. In reality the job is not a difficult position. The main issues are the problems you put up with from management, the gossiping, and the lack of direction. 

Everyone will give you their own version of how things should be done. You start to realize the inconsistencies in behavior from personnel. There were instances where I felt intimidated by the superiors. Once someone feels threatened they make you feel inferior. 

Upon hire I was provided with an extensive job description. You are not provided with the room to put into practice the majority of the responsibilities listed on the job description. Everything has to go through upper management. Upper management will  make you feel like you will excel in their company when in reality there  is no room for growth. To be promoted it’s not based on your abilities but on who you know and who you kiss up to. The training for the position is short. The information provided in the training is not even a quarter of what you need to know for the position. Once you are in your location it’s hard to get a hold of someone all the time. The agency is so big that you really have to learn things on your own.

 Make sure you really pay attention  to detail. You are thrown into the position without proper training. Management will still hold you accountable for mistakes you should have been educated on from the beginning. New employees are provided with a 2-week training. However, the training does not cover everything you should know before venturing on your own. 

HR provided new managers with an extensive training on management. The curriculum is very interesting but really does pertain to what you are doing on a daily basis. Reach department has their own way of doing things.  You will realize the pushback you receive from other managers and clinicians for trying to enforce agency protocols. 

The direct manager gets annoyed when you ask her questions. She will smile in your face and stab you in the back.  There is always something to complain about with little communication.  If you are not productive enough, you are not doing your job. If you get too much done they want to know why you have so much time on your hands.

 If you do receive communication it’s sarcastic and rude. The hiring manager does not deal with you consistently. At first it’s okay to ask her questions. However, she is mainly busy so you deal with the central office manager. Do not attempt to file a complaint against your managers. The majority have been there a long time. Seniority is more important than what is ethically correct 

 Proceed with caution because everything seems beautiful in the beginning and then the masks begin to come off. Make sure everything you do you keep a paper trail for. Cover yourself and always make sure you communicate in writing. You have to walk on eggshells especially when most of the talking isn’t done to you but behind you. You will begin to feel the tension in the atmosphere. You will always feel like you have to prove yourself. I can continue on with the negative experiences. You will find very few genuine people at this company. One pro is the benefits provided by the company. However the overall experience was poor and troublesome.

Training happens "on the job". Orientation provided some basic information on the record keeping system, HIPAA compliance, and how to use their system. 

The supervisor that I started working with and that trained me was phenomenal. Due to budget cuts and one of the programs closing, the supervisor needed to take their talents elsewhere. In their place, a manager was out there that cannot utilize the electronic database, utilize excel, utilize a OneDrive,  and while part of their job description included training new staff, it was the responsibility of myself and senior staff to train new staff extensively in program standards, to which the manager struggled with a year into their reign as a manager.

As a case manager, I advocated daily for clients and their needs. What was troubling was the lack of resources within the community that was available. Clients were inspiring, as I watched significant changes happen..they were the real heroes. They made the job worth it daily. 

Management is why I left. Management continues to be an issue. Concerns were raised and ignored. 

I worked in a location where I feel clients needs were often taken the least seriously as well as the concerns of case managers, supervisors, and any staff that resides there. Management will throw you under the bus to ensure they look amazing. Tread lightly. 

The work environment is often understaffed, with a significant number of senior staff members working remotely. Employees are frequently assigned duties that fall outside of their official job description, including tasks typically handled by management. This has provided a challenging insight into the operational side of the industry.

The leadership style can be perceived as lacking direction, leading to a sense of being misdirected and unsupported. The organizational culture is difficult, fostering an atmosphere of distrust and internal conflict. A significant challenge for many employees is the discrepancy between their professional knowledge of how things should function and the reality of how the organization operates, coupled with a feeling that their input is not valued.

This organization is not recommended for potential employees or clients. The agency struggles to prioritize the needs of its staff and those they serve. For an agency that purports to be a "Mental Health Care Provider," the services and environment provided are severely lacking, and may even be detrimental to well-being

Working at CarePlus, in the beginning, was exciting.  Once there was a regime change it went from exciting to walking on eggs shells.  Management is the worse that ever did it.  Management is incompetent, inexperienced and everybody looks alike.  Management is a group and if you're not apart if their group than your a target.  Management does not apply the same rules to their position as they except staff to foLlow.    HR is supposed to be a neutral party and their not.  I can speak for the department I work, not all depts.  In the residential dept your over worked with no support, the policies are bent when it's convenient for management.  The expectation is for staff to follow procedure; management is allowed to make their own procedure and their not held accountable.  The position with management is If you can't do the work someone else can.  There are no breaks or lunches.  The department is ran off a friend system.

A typical work days is partial remote because of my disability some managers are not willing to work with those who are limited in their capacity. Regarding training it’s not self explanatory but a bit messy in the day to day which is usual for any Addictions program. 
I believe I learned what not to do in a management position and how to truly treat others as I would like to be treated.
Training can be limited but would like to see that expand for the personal and  professional development to succeed in the position.
The hardest part is having managers not seeing you as a robot and being compassionate to the needs of counselors and workers.
The most enjoyable part of my job is working with clients and seeing the changes in the lives I’ve served . Change is difficult with every job and the needs of our clients and our goal should not to do more harm than good. 

Starting in Partial care was very difficult because a majority of the co-workers already had formed a clique; to be part of the clique, you have to be rude, judgemental, and mean. When you speak to management, they disregard your feelings because they are also part of the problem too. Management favors certain employees because they were once friends. Toxic work environment. Learned a lot about clients with SPMI. This experience can be learned elsewhere, in a friendly work environment. I would not recommend working here. There are many other departments in Care Plus that you can apply to or, in general, other partial care jobs in this area. I haven't been working here for about 1.5 years so maybe things have changed, but I doubt it 

This place is a great place for you to gain knowledge on how to conduct therapy and work with clients one on one, however my experience was really bad. I got hired two months before I started getting cases and my supervisor never ever reached out to me, I had to reach out and let them know that I did not have any guidance on how to start out. I was lost in the shuffle. It’s a non supportive environment and you will have to be assertive if you need any sort of help. Admin staff are all over the place and no one seems to be communicating with one another. If you are working remotely good luck navigating everything out!!!

I was highly overworked and disgustingly underpaid.

The work environment was nice - the people I worked with were very helpful and we worked together very well as a great team.

I would see clients sometimes most of the day; other days would be quiet and I would focus on doing notes or required company training.

The night shift when it’s cold outside

The work environment is balanced and there are several units to transfer to. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My job is on call so when there is a crisis in the community we go out and offer support and resources to help bring stability to the client. Sometimes we have to help in the home or take them to a facility for further care.

Assisting  with accounts receivable and collection. Payment posting of insurance and patient payments, Call commercial insurances to verify health benefits, obtaining authorization, claim status, denials, and appeals. Assisting with daily deposits and bank runs. Answering high value of phone calls regarding accounts. Identifying billing errors for corrections and submitting corrected claims to insurances.
