CareBridge Health presents its mission as supporting older adults and individuals with disabilities to safely age in place. The company offers durable medical equipment and a 24/7 support program; however, many of the recommendations appear focused on optimizing caregiver hours rather than ensuring comprehensive support for those who need significant daily assistance.

Within the Decision Support program, employees conduct phone assessments with members. In my experience, these conversations can be challenging, as some individuals may have cognitive difficulties or may feel uncomfortable discussing personal care needs over the phone. All calls are recorded and reviewed, and feedback from these calls can influence the amount of caregiver support a person receives.

From an employee perspective, the workload is demanding and continuously expanding. New assignments are added weekly, and productivity expectations are high. Staff are often required to make a large number of outreach calls, sometimes including follow-up attempts with family members when direct contact cannot be made.

The primary focus of the role is to assess support needs, which can often lead to recommendations that reduce caregiver hours established by in-person case managers. Work-life balance can be difficult to maintain due to frequent requests to cover additional caseloads, work through breaks, or extend workdays well beyond standard hours.

Overall, this was the most stressful role I’ve held in my career. Those who place a strong emphasis on maintaining personal balance or alignment with their professional values may find this environment particularly challenging.

I joined CareBridge in its early days and genuinely loved my work. I consistently ranked as a top performer, exceeded KPIs, and received perfect performance reviews year after year. Over time, however, increasing micromanagement led to unrealistic expectations, and promotions often felt questionable or disconnected from actual performance. Even when you met or exceeded expectations, you were expected to absorb others’ workloads without any additional compensation. After Elevance acquired the company, a mass layoff occurred, showing that tenure and strong performance meant very little. The work environment has continued to decline, and many talented employees are now choosing to leave.  It’s disappointing to see a company culture where the employees who threaten to quit or make the loudest complaints are the ones who end up being rewarded with promotions. Instead of recognizing consistent performance, professionalism, and genuine dedication, leadership seems to respond primarily to ultimatums and disruptive behavior. This not only undermines the hard work of those who show up reliably every day, but also sends the message that stability and integrity are less valued than noise and pressure. 

Working as a Care Navigator at CareBridge was one of the most frustrating roles I’ve experienced. Management operates through constant micromanagement, clear favoritism, and a lack of transparency. When employees leave (which happens often due to the extremely high turnover), leadership keeps everything quiet instead of addressing the real issues driving people out.

The role itself feels less like patient support and more like telemarketing. We are expected to repeatedly call elderly patients who often don’t want the service, don’t understand why we’re calling, or block the number altogether. Despite this, management pushes staff to keep calling anyway, which feels uncomfortable and borderline unethical at times.

The workplace culture is tense and discouraging. Leadership comes across as sneaky and untrustworthy, and there are patterns that feel discriminatory and unfair in how employees are treated and supported. Instead of focusing on improving processes or employee morale, the environment prioritizes metrics and appearances.

Overall, I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a supportive healthcare environment or meaningful patient-centered work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company has undergone significant transitions recently, but the execution has created a toxic culture. Leadership has prioritized aggressive metrics over psychological safety and clear communication. For a professional, watching a culture transform this negatively in such a short window is disappointing. Change is inevitable, but when it becomes toxic, it compromises the quality of work and the retention of experienced staff.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
While change is a natural part of any organization, the recent cultural shift here has been rapid and detrimental. What was once a professional environment has devolved into a toxic atmosphere in a very short period. The lack of transparency and the erosion of trust have made it impossible to maintain a high-functioning team or a healthy work-life balance. It is a 'deal-breaker' situation for anyone who values professional integrity.

Working here felt like being constantly under pressure from management. The employer obsessively focuses on squeezing every ounce of productivity out of its employees. The obsession with output has created a toxic environment that leaves no room for creativity or personal growth.
But what's even more appalling is the manner in which they handle terminations. The firing process is conducted with such secrecy and silence that it reeks of cowardice and lack of respect for employees. One day, you could be praised for your hard work, and the next, you're handed a pink slip without any clear explanation. The lack of transparency and open communication is simply disgraceful, leaving terminated employees confused, hurt, and disillusioned. Furthermore, the idea of raises based on unreasonable metrics is nothing short of a sham. Instead of acknowledging employees' true worth and contributions, CareBridge chooses to evaluate them based on metrics that are completely detached from reality. These metrics often fail to capture the complexities and nuances of individual job roles, leaving hardworking employees demoralized and undervalued. 

This company is too new and still trying to figure things out. Don’t expect any help or support from management. Management lies, manipulates, and brainwashes staff to work harder while giving unrealistic and unattainable metrics for the Care Navigators. The way performance is measured is unreasonable and call expectations are impossible to maintain. Management wants CNs to stay on the phone 60% of the time and make 20 calls per day while trying to complete tasks, conduct check-ins, and make care calls. The company needs serious restructuring and to fix their staffing issues. There’s a constant revolving door and very high turnover. A lot of staff are dealing with burnout and low morale. The leadership team is a bunch of cheerleaders pushing an unrealistic agenda. 

Don’t be fooled by their tempting salary and being fully remote. You will be expected to work outside “normal” business hours just to stay on top of your daily duties. 
Horrible work/life balance. 
Management is micromanaging and only care about metrics and how much they can squeeze out of you. 
Raises & advancements are based solely on your metrics. 
You will not feel valued or heard if you take concerns to your higher ups. 
There is a reason why a remote company has such a high turnover rate- beware!  
You will feel like a glorified telemarketer and be expected to hit your productivity by ultimately cutting caregiver hours from an already vulnerable population. 
Proceed with caution! 

Not what I thought I had signed up for. This company had potential but is going downhill fast. Management is either clueless about what’s going on or doesn’t care. Majority of the members we call have no clue who we are, what we do, or why we’re calling.  No transparency from management regarding changes and expectations are often confusing or unclear. Management’s only way of measuring productivity is with call volume. The constant pressure from management to remain on the phone and exceed metrics is creating a hostile work environment. Leaving this company was the best decision I’ve ever made. 

Tech start-up that had lots of room for innovation in serving the medical needs of vulnerable populations. As they expanded to new states and got their billion dollar "unicorn" valuation, things fell apart. Unrealistic, unclear, and often changing expectations. Tone deaf leadership that often contradicts itself. No acknowledgement given to those who actually try to show initiative within their job title to make things more effective and efficient.  Same goes for those who go above and beyond for members. The only thing they care about is call volume and the amount of time spent on the phone. The main benefit is working remote, otherwise I think most employees would leave.

They give gaid holidays. If you take a day off be prepared to work twice as hard to get your work done. It may be a salaried position, and they might talk about work life balance, bit be prepared for 60 hour work weeks.

You need to be able to do multiple things at once with 100% accuracy.

Stressful. Fast paced. Demanding.

Start early stay late, attend multiple meetings and trainings while trying to complete your numerous work duties.
