Although the job description in itself was one of a high-stress, chaotic, and hectic nature, the CareConnect management ensured the mental safety of the employees by maintaining a laid-back environment. This role taught how to triage important calls regarding the usage of the CareConnect electronic medical health records system. The role encouraged the practice of speed and accuracy while typing up end-user reports of system functions, while also offering new knowledge on how to use many IT features. All individuals in CareConnect, both mangers and co-workers, were all extremely friendly and patient. Everyone encouraged the best in everyone and always offered more knowledge to help the job functions be as painless as possible. The hardest part of the job was trying to quickly troubleshoot the calls from angry physicians. Most physicians do not have the time and patience to be led through functions over the phone since there are many critical issues that they must attend to urgently. The most enjoyable part of the job was the entire experience in itself and being able to gain hands-on experience with the health and medical field. 

CareConnect Health Insurance Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northwell Health (formerly North Shore - LIJ Health System). It was created in 2013 to make it easy for people to get and stay healthy at affordable prices. We offered access to exceptional care at affordable prices. My role was to do business development and direct sales.

Unfortunately, due to market factors, CareConnect recently announced it is shutting down its operations and unwinding its business in an orderly fashion.

This company is lacking in many ways but especially when it comes to management. I definitely do not recommend this company for anyone. They work you long hours with no breaks. Management is never on the premises, doesn’t respond to texts, calls, or emails. Does not follow CLIA guidelines. Office is constantly dirty. Tells employees that COVID is not a valid excuse to not come to work. Doesn’t drug test employees prior to hiring. Allows patients to verbally abuse employees. Allows employees to bully/harass other employees with no repercussions. 

Great mix of patients and conditions, challenging but rewarding patient load, local staff is kind and enjoyable to work with. Corporate structure and policies can be overwhelming, oppressive, and in-congruent with patient needs and provider decision making process. Providers have little/no input on workplace flow and policy enforcement.

Very productive and it was a great environment workplace, each person uplifted each other. Management always coach upward very down to employees. It was truly a team player worker place where everyone wanted you to be successful. They all understand how important each other roll was to the companies success. The hardest part was when they closed the company. My most enjoyable parts was my one on one with my manager and director.

Careconnect is overall a great place to work. The benefits are incredible.  The only thing that bothered me a lot was the balancing of work life and family life.  Management didn't really consider your life outside of work. There was no balance.

CareConnect was a wonderful place to work while it lasted. We all truly believed in the mission of providing better, easier to understand, and more affordable Health Insurance. 

Hopefully one day another organization can take its place and follow through on all the hard work we accomplished.

This was a newly formed company; evryone was interested in its success, and considered a member.  The CEO was within reach. I worked with a wonderful of individuals who were eager to use their area of expertise to the good of all

I love my job, coworkers, and the day to day different patients that come in. It's the one job that I can honestly say I love and look forward to going to on the days I work.

Don't try and put effort in for a company that doesn't want to put the effort in for you. The Co-workers are great but the ownership is horrible. People scream at each other in the office.
