A typical day at work : Report , Checking New Admits, checking patients on report, IV if any, Computer Issues, Printer or fax issues, maintenance or support services needed, Concerns, Addressing what is on calendar, what is left in supervisory communication book, what is priority to be completed . Any patient family concerns , check for meetings in course of the day, in services, new computer programming, or in addition to computer program , care plans , checking for monthly and daily orders, submitting to pharmacy, checking re-orders or medications on back order and improvising , checking MD book for signatures . Supervisor office to record consults, incidents and accidents, clinic appts for patients , handing in transportaion sheets for patients out patient care appt. cat scans, MRI, ortho f/up etc.  Checking staffing if need be.  Taking keys to supervisor office if need be , recording all narcotics in and out , printing, faxing, calling Lab for results on patients blood work , following up with MD for change in orders . Room changes in accordance with social work dept, admitting and families.  Doing admits coming in or discharges with patient and families going home. Calling for emergency transport , patient needs hospital all transfer sheets etc. 

I learned that people are people : We all need compassion, support, a smile , initiative and results . 

Co workers are wonderful . We have a cohesive, support system , we work hard, we compliment each other in the course of the day. We always smile. 

We have inservices , classroom mandates and info for changes in policy or procedure weekly.

Hardest part of the job. Is getting out in a reasonable time frame for family, community responsibility or obligation.

I recognized I only have two hands ,  two feet that move swiftly ,one mind and one voice. I must accomplish as much as i can in the time frame i have  for the circumstance i'm in at the time.

The most enjoyable part of the day : Is the patient that reaches for my hand and says thank you so much for all you've done . Or the family that calls and says , Thank you so much for listening, doing, initiating whatever it was at the time.

A typical day as a Concierge involves checking in with residents and families, answering questions, addressing concerns, coordinating with different departments, and ensuring new admissions feel comfortable and welcome. A big part of the role is communication because families often rely on the concierge for updates, guidance, and reassurance during what can be a stressful transition. I’ve learned how important patience, professionalism, and problem-solving are in long-term care, especially when handling different personalities and situations throughout the day. Management has a strong impact on how smoothly the building operates, as teamwork among all departments is essential. The workplace culture is very resident-centered and focused on customer service, which aligns with CareRite’s philosophy of creating a “ReNEWal” experience and making both residents and families feel genuinely cared for. During NHW, it is especially noticeable how much effort goes into celebrating residents and staff while creating a positive environment throughout the building. The hardest part of the job is managing difficult situations while making sure every resident and family still feels heard and supported. The most enjoyable part is building relationships with residents and families and helping make their stay feel more comfortable and welcoming.

A typical day is serving breakfast to residents, feeding those residents that need to be fed. After breakfast start bathing process and getting residents ready for the day. Throughout the day answering call lights assisting residents with needs such as bathroom assistance handing them a remote control, etc. serve lunch feeding. I've been a CNA for 18-20 years and I'm still learning new skills. every facility brings new challenges and skills that are essential to my endeavors as a CNA
I like management. They're not just barking orders they get out on the floor an help 
I must admit some coworkers are not team players and are not pleasant to work with at times but my focus is the residents and that's what gets me through he day
the hardest is not having that 100% team playing from coworkers because the residents suffer from that because they have to wait until I finish with a resident I'm with before I can help them because coworkers refuse to assist and answer call lights that are not"theirs".

The dishonesty and incompetence in the hiring process is a huge red flag. The worthless “orientation “ is another. The number of call-offs yet another. When other nurses, both RNs and LPNs, who actually work there warn a new employee how truly awful management , staffing, payroll, HR, etc is? Enough red flags to get some attention. Add in horrendous patient care by licensed and unlicensed staff, discrepancies in a first paycheck and complete and utter panic when the state conducts a 3 day unannounced investigation/inspection and it was finally enough. 
I worked 5 orientation shifts and a total of ONE shift alone on the floor. I’m a conscientious nurse and attempted to give the type of patient care I believe everyone deserves. The low number of staff made it impossible to take care of patients in a timely manner. I was again advised by current staff “oh this is a good night, most times it’s a lot worse here”. 
No. Just no. Elderly, vulnerable patients deserve much better than this place provides. As do licensed staff who care.

When i first started working at emerald peek i enjoyed it, people were helpful. It was a learning experience.. until it wasnt. I dont even know where to start. Unprofessional environment overworked nursing staff (CNAS LPNS) while the administration team sits on their butts in their offices. for months MONTHS we were unstaffed overworked for low pay. They dont care about you as an employee. They think they can throw gift cards or pay for lunch here or there and it would be okay. DON, charge nurses, LPNS will belittle cnas. Also cnas have to stand to chart? But theres charge LPN sitting in their offices on their phones gossiping. Its like high school there. God forbid a cna sits down for 1 min and has a drink of water.  the new admin literally only cares about “appearances” but yet you know how long there was no soap/paper towels in rooms? Or how we didnt have any supplies?  Shes worried about the WRONG things. there would be multiple times no RN was in the building just cnas and lpns... the place is so run down and dirty. Dont be fooled of the first floor. 

I have the privilege of working for CareRite and I can confidently say that it is a company that truly cares about giving back to its staff. From my first day it was clear that employee well-being and satisfaction were at the forefront of their priorities.

Part of my job has been to implement various initiatives to acknowledge and reward outstanding performance, such as Employee of the Month programs, recognition events, personalized appreciation gestures, and so much more. These efforts made me feel valued and motivated to go above and beyond in my role and without the support from CareRite these things would not be possible. 

I have been in this field for 25 years and I can honestly say that I have never worked for a company where employee satisfaction was so important. I also have grown so much within my field since joining this company and I am so grateful for all the support that I receive here. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing they use you over work you and then screw you in the end. I worked my days off extra hours every day and then they fire you, I know quite a few people that worked for that company and said they would never again either would I. It gave me a very bad feeling for the field of work and I love d my job and work until I worked for that company. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You get no raises, no bonus just over worked . Not compatible salary as other companies pay. Don’t appreciate your hard work and efforts. Worked extra hours my days off no one appreciatedot it said thank you. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Micro manage everything always looking over your shoulder no appreciation showed .

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A lot of stress,always short staffed, under staffed keep cutting staffing and budget and expect you to work miracles with nothing!

The rehab department is great to work in. I love my co-workers. The only other departments that I can say good things about is Urban Zen and Recreation. The nursing/CNA staff are awful. They are very lazy and no approachable. The administrator is the fakest person you will ever meet. If you have an issue she just says "I'll look into it." She never does. The food is absolutely horrible. The patients aren't getting the right nutrition that they need, which in turn effects their healing. It's just god awful.
The hardest part of my day is trying to keep up with my productivity level. I am constantly rushing around treating patients all day, communicating with various staff members about the patient's condition, and trying to fit in all my documentation. It's very challenging, but what's rewarding the most is how happy the patients are when they are in therapy.

I worked at the Forbes center for nursing and rehabilitation. They are a joke there. There is no shift differential. No raises every year. The benefits suck. They only start CNAs at 12. Unless you like working in poor conditions then this job is perfect for you. Needless to say they have a huge mice, bedbugs, and pest problem there especially on floor 3, 6, and the main floor. The staff is very unprofessional. They don't care about your family members. It's all about money. There is no staff appreciation. Don't apply unless you really need a job. Also they don't take the pre employment process seriously. They literally gave me the job without checking my urine test. They're desperate for employees. It's sad.save your self time and energy. Go agency. They pay more.
